Ah, yes. The "anti Star Wars". Series ends with the rebellion crushed and the bad guys victorious.
I also thought of it as the "anti Star Trek" with the Transporter technology. No special effects were applied to the people. Instead, it was the backgrounds which shimmered and reformed into the new location.
