Hard mode: Only post Canadian cartoons that have come out in the past 5 years.
Bet you can't name five.
I truly love only a few, this being one of them.
Shadow Raiders is the motherfuckin shit
One of the best character shows out there, particularly for the time
Im sad they never finished this cartoon
that's an unfortunate trend for canadian cartoons
this show was pretty big in Mexico
I recall it having a somewhat open ending, or do you mean that specifically?
>Stormhawks was CG
>It looks like a drawn cartoon
>Somehow the industry standard is CalArts
We have a viable alternative that delivers diverse styles, complexity, and constant on-model characters. But lol fuck that you'll eat your beanmouths and you'll like them too.
Beanmouths have no sharp angles, and sharp angles are aggressive patriarchy.
Time to sharp edge aggressive patriarchy up those histrionic estrogen supremacists I say.
11/10
Second only to this
I assume so. It doesn't leave out precisely on a cliffhanger but there's still like a million plot threads that haven't been resolved
HAPPY CANADA DAY!
I want this artist to come to our comic con, she doesn't live that far away, just a city away
>Canada produced and animated the following cartoons:
>Star Wars: Droids & Ewoks
>War Planets
>Beast Wars
>Due to their own fucking laws about the word "war" being forbidden from appearing in the titles of children's media because it is "too violent", they had to rename THEIR OWN SHOWS:
>Droids & Ewoks
>Shadow Raiders
>Beasties. Fuckin "BEASTIES".
God, Canada is so cucked.
Typical shounen villains were right. Humanity needs a babysitter to babysit them.
This show was something else.
Fuck is this? I've neither seen nor heard of it.
One of my favorite shows from French Canada, Real Canada, or anywhere else for that matter.
Can't
>shit only went to Canada and France
it hurts
what company even distributes this shit anyways?
Best show!
We had a 3 week long thread for that show YEARS ago.
The creator Pete Williams moved to Toronto and is finally finishing the series with a movie
Not born Canadian, but immigrated
Bullshit, source.
not the same user, but I found this:
Fuck yes.
Yeah I'm glad I checked this thread, I loved that show when I was younger
Since this is the Canada day thread...
Can we talk about how messed up marvel Canada is,..
eh, we got wolverine and deadpool, two of the most popular characters. Over used yes, but when they're good, they're great.
>what company even distributes this shit anyways?

Douchebags released a full DVD set in France but won't do jack shit for the English version. Fuck, even the Quebec dub's getting re-aired
Fake Canadian. Season 1 (the only season anyone remembers) had like 90% US writers and voice actors. Also season 2 was a French co-pro (they did all the music and most of the visuals)
I meant more about how they experiment on people and the government runs weapon x, but sure...
I mean is Marvel's Canada evil?
>Hard mode: Only post Canadian cartoons that have come out in the past 5 years.
You mean retard mode? Because no sane people would watch that radioactive waste, not even kids.
Take that back you fucking piece of shit
Season 1 is basically the single funniest season of a cartoon, ever. Beats "adult" shit any day
And season 2 has literally GOAT music
No
I'm Canadian and this show was unwatchable
This board must be insane then.
>I'm Canadian
Found the problem. There's a reason Canadian "writing" is the laughing stock of the entire world. You're so used to force-fed mass-produced shit you're literally unable to process something different for once.
Just STFU and appreciate absolute top-tier US talent, like in season 1 of WWA.
Those shows aren't actually Canadian you retard, they just identify as such for the sweet sweet leaf funding and tax credits. All the actual creative shit is done in the US (or elsewhere)
So are half the shows in this thread.
Yes, absolutely. That's why I'm calling out the ones I see, like you should be doing.
they still get internationally distributed
are you just dreaming?
What is this show about? I keep seeing it posted. I'm kinda enjoying the art style(looks like cel-shaded 3D, but like Gorrilaz and Motorcity 2D's style).
What is this show about?
They get internationally distributed as super-cheap filler, you mean. Disney/WB/Viacom shows are expensive as fuck, even though those are the only ones anyone actually wants to watch (sorry Netflix).
Detentionaire is one of the few cartoons that's somehow both virtually unknown and deeply overrated.
Guess that's what happens when 90% of your tiny fandom is Canadian
A kid gets framed for a super prank and gets detention for an entire year. His search for the true culprit brings him to a conspiracy that could mean the end of the entire world.
High school conspiracy shit, basically.
Pros: actual fucking continuity throughout, also the music is excellent
Cons: cliches and stereotypes EVERYWHERE, also the early seasons drag out the mysteries
If you can get that far, season 4 is a real treat. Mainly because by that point the conspiracy goes way beyond the high school hijinks
jesus it's expensive to distribute shit like "Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?", especially to channels not owned by the distribution companies themselves
No wonder FTA channels barely get shows like them
You know everything about external production orders of shows and what distribution companies own them?
and it ends on a cliffhanger
They did finish it
By teleporting their problem away and dooming other peoples
It wasn't a very heroic ending, but they solved their problem
as a Canadian I LOVE this. it's a totally new spin on Canada to make us a military industrial complex. Most fictional places either play up us as nice guys or play up the native american side. This is a nice twist
Jesus 4 seasons? and I was still contemplating if to finally watch Over The Garden Wall.
Gotta be honest here, Shadow Raiders is a much better title than War Planets.
>We had a 3 week long thread for that show YEARS ago.
archive link?
in a so bad it's good way
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
This was the show I wanted to post in the "Most despicable, depressing, losers cartoons" thread.
Here, I found her a boyfriend. IT'S A PERFECT MATCH.
Based as fuck. This show was awesome and I loved every minute of it.
Ooh yeah I just finished watching that show last month. Truly the intellectual man's show. The secondary characters had the best episodes.
Felt like a superior version of Crypts From The Tale, and definitely far better than Billy & Mandy.
The action was slow, but the plots, story structure and dialogue were excellent. I didn't get bored watching it.
Tales from the Cryptkeeper* how did I fuck that up?
The fact that this show's DVDs were distributed by FUNimation tells me they've gone a long way since then.
Don't kid yourself. It was all bad.

>This was the show I wanted to post in the "Most despicable, depressing, losers cartoons" thread.
What a faggot.
youtube.com
Ooh yeah that's the good stuff. Just as depressing, pathetic and virginal as I remember. (Not to mention pretentious and melodramatic, it comes with the territory)
Pippi Longstocking is truly a Chad compared to Anne, Doug, Arthur, Zilla and many others.
The pretend chad (only appears to be a Chad in the intro)
The actual Chad (no intro required)
>This was a true story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine
Beasties kept all violence in the show but America had parts cut out.
Good times. I don't think you could pull off something like that anymore, and if you did it may end up in /trash/.
You posted it! Shadow Raiders is glorious.
Funimation distributed Braceface DVDs at one point too. They once even syndicated Braceface to the USA. They definitely gave those up eventually.
I posted Anne of Green Gables...

>You're in charge, life's really swell
> Aw, no man, but hey, what the hell!
check 'em
See, the problem is that this falls into the same category as describe, even more so because it has no mention of tax credits whatsoever. This is
hardly Canadian and is no different than a US show outsourced to Korea.
dat loli doh
user from here - to be fair, Clone High is more Canadian than those, because Teletoon was non-trivially involved in production via Nelvana. Same thing with Undergrads btw (in that case via Decode).
But it's still more American than Canadian, and would be absolute shit without the US writing.
Remind me to never take what you say honestly again.
Polly Pocket and Mega Man are Canadian, end of story.
>greatest possible shitpost for thread.
you are truly max leaf
I'll take that as a compliment.
They're more Canadian than Hilda or The Dragon Prince but they're also infinitely more shit (not an easy task) so I didn't give a flying fuck about them and still don't. My general statement stands.
>you'll never be in highschool and have a skinny young blonde girlfriend with braces
Darwyn Cooke was from Canada and he's one of my favorite writer/artists in comics. He also did a bunch of stuff in cartoons.
OMG
I saw this on TV years ago and I never knew it´s title!! Now I have to look up a way to watch it again.
I met Pete at fan expo a few years back, pretty cool guy.
French Canadian but still
who dat
>Crypts From The Tale
what would it be about
just a commission done by Dawn McTeigue. She's from Calgary so does some canada day stuff
God what was the point of this cartoon? It was overwhelmingly boring considering it was supposed to be about a waaacky rock star.
Why do canadians love to make ugly unappealing logos?
>hardmode last 5 years
Like anybody watched this.
