No idea who the pic you posted is by, but it's not 'realistic' at all.
More to the point, photorealism isn't really a priority for most artists as much as capturing a particular feeling which can often be done more effectively by playing fast and loose with things like proportion, perspective, and poses.
At the very least, you can't allow such things to constrain your work
