Its some Bruce Timm tier story telling with above average art.
But aside from a few twists it is the same old sidekick stories. If you don't like them you won't find them much more palatable.

From people that saw the episode at NYCC, it's new to them, but not us. It's Granny Goodness as a full-blown villain with the Female Furies, with Big Barda betraying them and helping Superman and his team. Other Space JL members include the Hawks and Guy Gardner.

DC Universe is US-based. It'd be nice if it was actually spread around the world, but it isn't.

This meme is stupid because for the most part, the focus has mostly gone to the veterans we've been with since the first season. Some may have less focus at times (Wally, Conner, Kaldur), but they do try to keep a consistent main cast even after time skips. There may have some new characters be plot relevant (Jaime and Bart in season two, Outsiders in season three), but they do try to keep focused on Dick, Artemis, M'gann, Conner, etc.

Imagine if people were sperging out this hard about JLU's expanded and rotating cast, which was also a huge shift from seasons one and two.

I really want a revived Wally, so that there's at least one Wally left in the multiverse getting treated well.

The difference is that JLU was usually able to tell a story with the rotating cast within a single episode. For whatever fucking reason Cyborg's origin story had to begin in the last act of episode 10 and end at the end of episode 11, because there's an excessive amount of flipping between an A-plot and a B-plot, then introducing a C-plot that's really the beginning of the next episode. And at 10 episodes in, 75% of the way through the season, they're still introducing characters like Cyborg and Bluebird. It just seems like a fucking mess.

I'd argue so. There's more episodes in the season, so the plot has a more even pace. It also takes itself way less seriously, which is ironic, considering it's also a darker season.

I think he might. The next half of the season is about integrating Brion, Tara, Halo, and Forager to the Team.

Weisman can write exactly one kind of villain, and it's Xanatos from Gargoyles. If you put more villains into the show, that just means there are more flavors of Xanatos running around. He also has a huge fetish for immortal characters, which is probably why Vandal Savage is getting sucked off this much this season - he's an easy Xanatos stand-in AND immortal
