This is the last time Disney will ever make a movie in the style of pre-Renaissance films. The most memorable scene in Snow White was when a bunch of animals washed dishes. Cinderella spent half its run-time on a Toma and Jerry side plot. Bambi and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh were an aimless collection of life stories. Forget the fact that Disney abandoned traditional animation, every Disney film from here on out will be epic adventure after epic adventure with the emphasis on action and no breathing room to focus on the mundane.
I think Disney wants to fuck over its 2d animation. If memory serves didnt this shit come out at the same time as the final Harry Potter movie?
Michael Jackson
>The most memorable scene in Snow White was when a bunch of animals washed dishes literally no one thinks that
Nolan Bell
Yes
Anthony Lewis
Yeah, what this guy said. The most memorable scene in Snow White is probably the dance party, but even then that's still a rather mundane thing.
Eli Stewart
To me it's the dwarves mining those jewels, or the apple being submerged in poison.
Hunter Turner
for me the most memorable ones are: - Snow White singing at the well with the doves - Snow White running through the scary ass forest - The queen turning herself into the witch - The dwarves crying over dead Snow White the movie had a lot of great scences unlike Cinderella, now that movie is a boring piece of shit
Carson Fisher
wasn't this movie in Academy Ratio?
Samuel Thomas
It's one of the things people remember about snow white- cute animals helping with chores
Jonathan Morgan
Christopher Robin, and by extension the Winnie The Pooh series, was ruined for me by that comic.
Hudson White
I came here to ask why Christopher Robin is wearing a yarmulke, but then I realized it's just a small-ass hat.
Brayden Lewis
Fuck that, the entire franchize was ruined by baseball.
God.
Fucking god.

>The most memorable scene in Snow White was when a bunch of animals washed dishes The most memorable scene in Snow White is the entire movie. Not even a joke, 80% of the movie is iconic.
>Snow White singing at the well with the doves >Snow White doing chores with the animals >Dwarves gathered around her bed >"HIIIIII-HOOOOOO" >"Mirror, mirror on the wall..." >The dance scene where the dwarves stack to dance with Snow White >"Doc... Happy... Sneezy... Dopey.. Oh, what funny little names for children!" >The evil queen transformed into the wicked witch, then kicking the empty pale to the skeleton >Wicked witch offering the pie to Snow White >Wicked witch falling off the cliff in the rain >The funeral when the prince arrives
I'm pretty sure the only scenes people don't really talk about is when the dwarves wash their hands for 6 minutes.
>Wicked witch offering the pie to Snow White I said pie when I meant to say apple. I remember Snow White was baking pies at the time and my brain slipped.
Eli Reyes
But why? Even if they wanted to transition into 3d, why would the intentionally fuck over a project when the endgoal is just to make money?
Austin Stewart
2D animation has strict unions that allow their animators to get paid VERY well over time. CG animators do not. It was revealed that all the big animation studios have been wage-fixing and it was hinted at through actions that Disney intentionally set up 2D films to financially fail, that way they could push their studios to be re-suited for CG films and they could basically make movies without dealing with a union.
As to the exact details? Was it a big PR stunt so they could show shareholders, "See? 2D isn't profitable!"? Was Lasseter in on it? He was a major part of the wage scandal. Was it done in a way to convince the public, "Oh, you want 2D? But look, it makes no money, you can't argue with numbers...". There's no way to definitely know unless you're an insider willing to spill the deats.
But 2D animation definitely died because Disney wanted to move onto an animation form that allowed them to wage fix their employees.

Also, Pooh was a low budget project that could easily be set up for a fall with minimal impact on their larger bottom line.
Joseph Johnson
Lasseter had to fight to get Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh made after Home on the Range. You can say Home on the Range was intentionally sabotaged, but PATF was a clear attempt to recapture the magic of the Disney Renaissance and Winnie the Pooh 2011 clearly tried really hard at being true to the original film with the storybook framing/meta jokes and nailing the character interactions.
Luke Young
It was also done so the studio could use CG as a tech gimmick to impress everyone

>I'm pretty sure the only scenes people don't really talk about is when the dwarves wash their hands for 6 minutes. I´m pretty sure it was their faces.
Asher Taylor
It was both. The scene prior has the dwarves showing Snow White their hands and they're filthy and she tells them to wash up for supper.
