Going from what I've seen so far in the pilot, Adorabat appears to live in a Huxleyan dystopia (only this one is in a fantasy world), one where children are so sheltered that little girls cry at the thought of monsters.

I wonder how long it'll take before this plot point suddenly vanishes from the series and is edited out of re-airings or, likely sooner, removed from the YouTube upload, if they don't remove the pilot from YouTube entirely.

well there are many possibilities about his family

1- mao mao overexagerated everything and his family are just farmers and his dad was really busy teaching his sisters how to take care of the family's farm.

2- mao mao said the absolute truth, his sister will be extremely powerful, dwarfing everything mao mao did so far, defeating monsters like the giant one with a single hit, this will destroy mao mao sanity.

3-his sister will be appearing one by one during the series, they are all really powerful or dropped the hero thing completely

4- the classic which one is the true one episode

5-mao mao's father appears,wanting to test his son's abilities he challenges him to a duel which he wins with zero effort, he is proud of his son despite his defeat.

6- like the previous one but mao curls up in a ball with his cape and starts to cry, his father feels bad because he only cared about raising heros instead of raising a family (reason why mao's mother left)

7- a sister appears, defeats mao, mao leaves the city and this sister takes his spot for some episodes

I've finished episode 6 and I'm not that super into the cartoon like I would want to be. The writing is probably the worst part of the show with cliche'd episodes already done to death, like misunderstandings between friends, and it doesn't feel like any of the characters learn from it or grow with each other. And yeah, I get it, it's not an overarching story, it's episodic. At least have the comedy to carry it. The only good thing keeping this show in the eyes of many people are the visuals. I really tried hard to get into it but it's not for me anons. You guys enjoy though, I just thought I'd put my two cents on it.

The main reason why I recommended to watch in that order was because of the disguise WTF reveal near the end of EP9. It brought such an unexpected shock to see that for the first time (if skipping EP7).

Mao Mao puts on his disguise in EP7 first (which makes you have a feeling what to expect, when it comes to his abilities in EP9.), and I was glad that I missed EP7 accidentally.

unexpectedly, it did as well for me. not only for the reasons mentioned above. after spending some time watching these guys, we (the audience) grow attached to them. And when that attachment occurs and something (semi)serious happens in the story, ofc our attention and care for the characters will be on a higher level.

And I personally believe that by leaving EP7 for last, not only makes EP9 better (at least to me), but it makes EP7 more meaningful for us the audience, after spending so much quality time with this great and awesome bunch.

Outfoxed might be my favorite episode so far.

Outfoxed was great. The humor really has a great edge to it. It's a children's cartoon but the jokes really push it in a very self-aware way, and the writing and dialogue are sharp in a way that reminds me of Always Sunny.

I fucking love anything Christopher McCulloch does, I could hear a bit of Sgt. Hatred and SPHINX Commander in there too.

All caught up now. Episode 10 was freaking fantastic. The whole Bao-Bao thing was so much fun. And the ending was beyond cute. I am whole-heartedly loving this show. Episodes 4 and 5 were probably the weakest (the characters acted a bit too unrealistically jerky/stubborn to force the plot) but everything else has been a blast.

Best new show in a while for me. Adorabat and Mao Mao are so good. Mao Mao especially when it comes to his disguises and Adorabat when it comes to her penchant for violence. "Do you love your mommy!?" DO YOU LOVE YOUR MOMMY!?"

The sweetypies are clearly trustful and loving to a fault. It's one of the first things the show established.

Also these swindlers have been doing this for at least 3-ish years. It's one thing for Adorabat to hang on Mao-Mao's every word when it comes to heroic stories and heroism (and be ready to defend his honor at a moment's notice) but another to simply just believe him over her own and fellow townspeople experiences. She "knows" these guys, they're very nice people. I see nothing wrong with her being so gullible when again, the sweetypies were established this way from the get-go.

I definitely think the show writers meant for that association to be made.

If there's one wonderful thing about today (2010derful?) it's that we don't need all the characters to be super flawed gigantic idiot morons all the time now. They can have nuances that make them people you'd enjoy being around, but still hilariously fucked up once in a while. And they can have disagreements without some massive farce

I think this is going to be one show where I actually draw on-model fanart. the only thing I would tweak or improve is the mecha bits. and even then, the particular joints they use don't look too bad with the bends they do, most of the time.

I love it so much. The way it was used to freak out the swindler fox was pure genius. Like when Mao Mao mimics Adorabat's voice in response to the fox questioning it. Added such a glorious creepy factor. Especially when Badgerclops reveals he's the fox's partner. It's the best kind of ridiculous.

It's awesome sometimes and then really lame lots of other times. Need more Dendy, Fink, Boxmore/Venomous episodes. The biggest flaw is I guess it's biggest "charm" is the crazy inconsistent artstyle when combined with the overly wacky characterizations makes it way hard to ever take seriously. (If it wasn't so constant it wouldn't be so bad.)

In a world with cyborgs, an amputee would have to be somebody who doesn't have a cool cybernetically improved bodypart to be better than before, but rather is weakened.
So, Adorabat's pegleg does make her an amputee, because it does nothing, whereas the giraffe pirate with her extensible neck wouldn't be an amputee, because her cyberneck is even better than a normal neck.

That makes sense, so that leaves us with the main characters being the only amputees we've seen so far.
