How do i make friends with similar interests in cartoons? Ive tried cons but theyre more just glorified merch bazaars. I want to make more friends even online but it seems impossible to find people who are interested in the same Yea Forums things i am.
How do i make friends with similar interests in cartoons? Ive tried cons but theyre more just glorified merch bazaars...
i met friends with the same interest in me during college
>i met friends with the same interest in me during college
>college
15 years ago it was possible.
You're supposed to get your friends interested in Yea Forums media instead of trying to be friends with people who hold the same interests
try to get a job at a place that sells clothes merch etc for gaming/comics/cartoon types. you can also simply do what you like and engage in activities you like and then just talk to whoevers around. some of them you'll click w and some of them you wont. the ones you click w see if you have a mutual interest and then invite them to hang out and do that or simply chill w them whenever you're in the same vicinity and if the friendship is there you'll easily find thing to talk about or hsng out on. you could do this same thing at cons etc. pretty much anywhere.
but the most important thing is: dont put too much pressure on yourself or them.
dont go out trying to make friends or trying to hang out, do what you do and like to do and talk to people w the goal of finding out what theyre like instead and the rest will happen organically, some people you'll like some you wont and vice versa.
good luck out there man
>implying i have any friends in the first place
Haha, good one user
You sound like an obnoxious horsefucker who can't shut up about his favorite show
i dont know maybe it was because of my major
6 years ago for me
I've found some people who have nearly similar interests but they also ends up enjoying really egregious things (that I don't mention as to not derail the thread talking about me), and I got a friend who reads comics but he doesn't keep up with current stories so I'm the one who summarizes everything that's going on whenever we meet up in person and lend him the modern trades I buy sporadically so he's up to date. All in all I think the best you can do is find someone who tolerates your shit and find some common ground instead of trying to tick some boxes.
>meets person with ALL your interests
>you have 0 chemistry
100% this. I'm going back to college this year at 26, but I feel like I missed the "find friends" boat, and everyone around me will likely see me as to old to be friends with.
College really is just a networking tool disguised as a reputable place to gain credentials for creatives and people with even slightly above average intelligence. Everyone else is perfectly fine just bonding over sports, pop music, and beer.
>tfw after years of watching cartoons alone and never talking about it, finally met cool cute girl that likes cartoons
>she thinks nuPPG is better than the original, including design-wise
went back to college at 29 and now most of my friends are freshmen
theres still hope user
>tfw after years of watching cartoons alone and never talking about it, finally met cool cute girl that likes cartoons
>>she thinks nuPPG is better than the original, including design-wise
Sounds like a monkeys paw wish come true
Is she at least nice otherwise?
Yeah and thats the worse thing. She is just a nice girl with an humongous shit taste. I cant even get mad at her, its like getting mad at someone with brain damage.
>How do i make friends with similar interests in cartoons?
Trust me user, you don't want friends with the same interests. It will only lead to drama and arguments.
should've told her the older is better and you can watch it both with her to prove it.
>Yeah and thats the worse thing. She is just a nice girl with an humongous shit taste. I cant even get mad at her, its like getting mad at someone with brain damage.
Id say go for it man, still be her friend and everything, just be glad shes nice
>Trust me user, you don't want friends with the same interests. It will only lead to drama and arguments.
Then how do i make friends
What are your interests user? As in specific cartoons and such
I've done it online and you can too
>Trust me user, you don't want friends with the same interests
Depends my best friend is a girl who has the same interest in lego like me although i do admit she has some wrong opinions like how the bionicle line was good or ice planet is the best lego line
>What are your interests user? As in specific cartoons and such
Invader zim
Steven universe (though mostly about complaing about it)
Batman beyond
Freakazoid
Ren and stimpy
Beavis and butthead
If you want me to list off more i can
I think there's actually a good market for an old fashioned convention where the focus is on discussing and talking about things you like with people you like. Just find a cheap hotel somewhere with a decent bar or such, have some people make their own panels. Have a bring and buy room, not a full on dealer hall and just relax for a weekend of watching cool stuff, talking about things and enjoying yourself.
I appreciate this user. I need this kind of hope in my life.
Thanks, will try. She invited me next week to her house so we can watch some K-drama together(whew). Guess Ill go and just refrain from killing myself.
>has some wrong opinions like how the bionicle line was good
>bionicle is hood
>wrong
Fucking neck yourself faggot
just remember what you did wrong during your first time in college and try not to repeat those same mistakes
I just dont get what all the fuss with the bionicle line I had most of the line when I was a kid but they seemed pretty boring to me and i would just usually cannibalize their parts to enhance my lego city buildings
They were bionic tiki mask men that you could build and customize and had deepest lore before adventure time and steven universe made it cool, how do you not get the appeal to this?
Do you have any social media? I think that's the best way to get into it. Make one showcasing your interests (though maybe not SU lol they are cancerous), replying to those with similar interests, eventually work your way into a friendship with someone and go from there. It worked for me
I really do wish you the best of luck, I completely know this feel and associate with you on that
I have an instagram page but i dont use it much, i dont really know how to make a fandom page because the only examples i see are SU ones and that speaks for itself.
Look into the "Let's Talk" community on Twitter.
Granted, some of these accounts are ridiculously possessive and harbor dumb opinions (look no further than the Starfire drama), but overall there's a sense of camaraderie between people who are fans of specific characters or teams who support each other.
oh maybe thats why, I was more interested with building spaceships than with my mini figures with my legos back then plus the fact that they really arent that customization options since you cant add a lot to their body
I think my computer is still banned from using twitter so i dont think i can make an account their
Minifigures are the best prt about legos though
i have a bunch of unbuilt sets in my houses because i just bought them for the minifigs
I want to go back before I'm 24 (22 now) but I'm scared of student loans. Good luck user!
Wait... How did you get banned from using an entire platform?
Your friend is based.
You on the other hand need a smack to the head.
I used to buy it for the reverse reasons I even had a lot of repeat minifigs like sometimes 10 which i either use for fireworks adventure or just throw them away back then
Twitter is notorious for banning anyone with non PC opinions, user
>I used to buy it for the reverse reasons I even had a lot of repeat minifigs like sometimes 10 which i either use for fireworks adventure or just throw them away back then
Y-you monster
I agree she is based
never saw the appeal of minifigs when i was a kid i guess
>never saw the appeal of minifigs when i was a kid i guess
Theyre mini action figures
You didnt need to slaughter them like an animal
Good luck to you too, senpai.
School is hard. Enjoy yourself.
>Twitter is notorious for banning anyone with non PC opinions, user
Not gonna pursue this further because I don't wanna derail the thread, but this is a cop-out of an answer. Aside from banning some high profile retards who stoke the flames, the only way to get proper banned from there is if you purposely went and acted like a complete shithead, posted CP or full blown racist shit.
>You didnt need to slaughter them like an animal
they died for a greater good user
I called nico colleto a sperm gargling faggatoid, i hardly think that counts
Not that user but some social media accounts ban you for the stupidest shit
My alternate account in facebook (I use this account as a photo album for my photos) got locked because they thought I was a bot even though that account has never participated nor commented on anything when i tried to reactivate it they wanted a valid government issued id of my ex since the account was under her name
I'm not a social person, so I don't really know. But aren't there social forums for western comics and animation like anime-planet and similar for anime?
I thought Twitter doesn't IP ban though?
If you don't use your real name or were prominent I don't think they'd know or care. It's not YouTube where if you have one banned account they are all banned
I use twitter all the time, never even came close to being banned.
Unironically go to art college. Classes are easy and you are bound to find people who values artistic shit, including animation. The degree is shit so there is no pressure, you can drop out anytime you want and do whatever in classes, and if its a public college you dont really pay anything.
Any recommendations for how I can make RL friends? My problem is that my favorite is shota and loli. That’s hard to find others fans of.
Move away from it. Most people into that shit aren't interested in normal relationships because they're closet predators.
I was about to recommend you a couple of Mastodon federations where you can meet some people, but honestly? This . Just break away from that, dude. Not worth the trouble in the end, and I'm saying it as someone who has a passing interest on it from time to time. I haven't met a single person who's low key about it.
Nobody on this website deserves ANY form of companionship. And I'm including myself in that sentence.
The sooner you fucks accept that truth, the better off you'll be.
I have very few friends because most of them left the country, I mostly chat with a single guy who I regularly invite to the movies with me and chat about comics with him... So I don't know about "deserving", because I'm a loner in general. People "like" me, but I really don't like being around them.
This. Get a decent paying job, rent an appartment, download tinder for hoes and deticate yourself to you and only you. Learn how to live without any form of true companionship is the only way because noone here really deserves it.
College. I was an English major, and I still have some good friends from my undergrad I have regular contact with.
Alternatively, get a master's degree in Library Science and become a librarian. Most under the age of 45 are huge nerds.
>(though mostly about complaing about it)
Haha. Man, I can't believe people aren't lining up to be friends with you to hear you complain about a children's cartoon.
Seriously, cut that out. For your own sake.
Toon Zone
Interests are abundant and fleeting like water. Find good chemistry first, bond over interests later.
Idiot. Make her watch the original with you. Then when you're done, move onto other shows of the era like dexter's lab. Shared experiences can overwrite the old ones.
>the bionicle line wasn't good
>ice planet isn't excellent
How can one man be so wrong?
>I'm going back to college this year at 26, but I feel like I missed the "find friends" boat, and everyone around me will likely see me as to old to be friends with.
This is unnervingly accurate to my own experience.
Mid-20s is definitely not too old to make friends in college.
It really does depend on the college. I go to a college where the majority of the population is around the ages of 19-20, and yeah, there is something a little awkward about hanging around someone who can't even legally drink yet. It really does feel like being an adult hanging out with teenagers.
Dude I'm still trying to figure it out. If I make lasting friends, it's always totally by accident. I made a new friend at work by quoting Red vs Blue, they're 10 years younger than me, but same tastes. The age gap is kinda cool, cause we can show each other things we missed out on.
Did you suck his dick?
She already saw the first as a kid, Im not a pedo. Seeing a second time wont convince her.
Reddit.
You going back for bachelor or master?
Understood. Could I have the Mastodon groups anyway? Thank you.
Maybe try your local middle school?
Dude, i just finished my entry exams 2 days ago for uni and i saw 4 women of the age beyond 30. It's never too late.
LMAO, fucking pervert.

Shit, I’m already on both of them! Thanks though.
