Buster, Babs and Plucky are what carried that show. Which is funny because the main characters worked but the support was really weak

Hampton was a decent support for plucky; Plucky was almost one note without hampton to balance him out.

Probably because Fifi/Furrball was the analog to the Pepe/Penelope dynamic. Fifi/Hamton was kinda boring since they were both into each other and there was no chasing.

Also, even though the show only did Fifi/Furrball once, there was a lot of merch put out with the two of them together due to clip art. Like that coloring book that was just 100 straight pages of Fifi raping Furrball.

I dunno, it's just a coloring book. Kind of an expanded version of the Fifi and Furrball episode except she catches him at the end. Scans started showing up online about a year ago, I think, but there was a lot of merchandise in the 90s that used the same art. Probably just part of the asset package sent to licensees in the 90s (I remember the same art appearing on paper cups and Valentines).

Nah, the writers jut seemed to forget that Fifi chasing terrified boys was her gimmick most of the time (which is odd, since she was the Pepe analog). They hooked her up in a mutual relationship with Hamton in a few episodes, pretty much eliminating her from having any sort of comedy shtick to speak of.

generally the best way to have the dynamic work with a "Guy getting chased by the girl" scenario without making the girl look horrific is to make it a snu-snu type scenario; having the girl either be larger than the guy or in some way airheadedly destructive/violent so as to give a threat of physical harm by the girl accidentally showing their love.

Her just being a skunk is a workable alternative, but if they were to redo the show they'd probably want to add in some sort of mental instability thing where she breaks things when she gets angry or feels jealous.
