Given that they'll very likely easily make their goal, will that 3-5 minute True Tail plot (or potentially longer) actually be decent or will the toned-down kid shit make it unwatchable

Is this anything like high tail hall?

High Tail Hall?

I liked the old designs better.

>feels good man

We can only hope.

Is that really a ferret?

Wait a minute, they're making a kickstarter to produce a 3-5 minute pilot??? This shit has been in development since like 2012 or something, and it took this long to even request money for a pilot???

You mean that thing with the animal women hookers?

>Women

They threw away literally all of their work in 2015 because Nickelodeon told them a cartoon about adults was dumb. So they made the characters children and put them in school.

I'm not joking.

It will literally be unwatchable due to the toed down kiddy-shit 'plot'. Don't even pretend otherwise.

Nick and similar such companies basically told them that they wouldn't back them unless they toned down what they were going for and regressed all the characters to borderline babyshit. So they did so, and threw away all the stuff they'd been working for years on.

The old designs were bakc when they actually wanted to make this something serious and worth all the time and effort. But one word from big daddy Nick, and suddenly they're burning everything down without even a second's hesitation.

They honestly should've just crowdfunded the remainder of the previous version and make it a miniseries and sell it on BD/DVD. The infinite autismbucks of furries would still be in effect.

>Though our original story was good, and we loved mixing our simplistic shape-based art with a mature story line, we found it nearly impossible to pitch this concept to any animation studio. With this new version we have a more lighthearted tone that gives us the chance to bring humor and energy into the series. We are still making an action adventure show, but it will just be a little less serious.

They are literally making this into kiddie shit, after all the time and effort they put into the original. You absolutely cannot make this shit up.

Honestly they should've kept with the original idea and do small shorts on the internet or a web comic to gain traction to show these networks that there is want for something like this.

With how quickly they bent over to take Nickelodeon's cock, I doubt anything they attempted would be been good even with the original concept. Which is a fucking shame too.

Someone paid them $8,000.

I mean it's cool they get their OC in the show.... but $8,000?

Yeah you're right about that. both version seem generic in a way, and that's bad if you wanna stand out

I’ve seen the animatic pilot for the original idea, it was always going to be targeted to kids. Although doing a cliche school plot is definitely a step down.
Although I do understand why they did it, It still REALLY sucks. We’ve come a far way from shows like Avatar where characters travel around the world and creating new locations and characters for each episode wouldn’t be a production problem for a prominent cable channel for kids.

Ah well, maybe Netflix will be interested and they’ll ask for the original concept.

True Tail was a side project while they worked on other shows in the industry.

Furries have way too much money to spend on shit like this.

The original was at least generic in a way that it hit all the right fantasy tropes in just a way that it was entertaining and engaging enough that you'd want to see where the characters go next, or what threats they'd end up facing.

The new thing just looks like the same toothless garbage every single western network has been forcefeeding people because they earnestly believe all children are drooling retards like themselves.

>Ah well, maybe Netflix will be interested and they’ll ask for the original concept.
They literally trashed all the shit they'd already made for the original concept. Even if Netflix contacted them and wanted them to use the original concept, it eouldnt be able to because they got rid of everything relating to it in their desoeration to get some industry head to notice them.

pocket change for a lot of the furries that I see throwing their money around on the internet

Well see that sucks. I would have watched the original idea even if it was fur shit. I'd love a solid fantasy adventure even if it was about animal people. This school kid shit is just gay.

That's the thing, if they wanted to they could. They could take their time and crowdfund it and release it in small batches
That's not what they wanted, they are hellbent even with this kickstarter to get a kids show on one of the networks. For that they will bend over completely for even a slight chance to get it out there. They might get this pilot and never get anything else released for all we know and they just shitted on what could have been
At least we might get porn or something

Melody (the little rabbit) was originally going to be the young, but experienced senior in the band of mercenaries Caleb would be joining up with that would interact with and give Caleb training to be a better hero. She was even going to teach him how to knife fight.

Now? She's just a hopelessly generic genki girl sibling to Caleb with zero actual experience and only exists to be his foil. Because for whatever reason, they thought destroying what made her a compelling character in the first place would be a good idea.

Why though? I suppose there's the allure of saying you had a show on TV but it's not like we live in an era where that means shit. If someone did pick it up they'd just air two episode then put it on hiatus while reairing Spongebob or Teen Titans Go.

I'd have just made a comic book. It's cheaper, easier, you can self publish and you don't have to tone down your shit.

With all the complaints about the changes, it reminds me of how back in art school I was taught that when you pitch a show, and the network wants a change, no matter how huge it is, you either have two options: comply or pitch it elsewhere.
The sad thing about making cartoons is that there’s always a compromise and very few shows are exactly like that of its original pitch. If you want to get a show and not listen to some no-nothing network exec, just make the show and post it online. People who go that route soon realize why people don’t do that often though...

I seriously doubt they literally destroyed everything from the original concept. I sure they got it backed up in a file somewhere.

>They might get this pilot and never get anything else released for all we know and they just shitted on what could have been
That's literally what's going to happen. Nick, even after they made all the changes and all but destroyed their original work, continued to ignore them completely. Same for pretty much any other network.

They're going to have nothing to their name except a shitty pilot and some porn made by people who could probably make a better pilot with their porn alone if they tried.

>The sad thing about making cartoons is that there’s always a compromise and very few shows are exactly like that of its original pitch. So just make a fucking comic, or an online series you can release and use patreon or whatever to sustain it. Don't sabotage yourself for networks who literally give no shits about you.

If fucking Lord Bung with his literally broken ass could do it, and even get fairly big names voice acting under him, I don't see why they can't do the same with the clearly superior resources they have.

I don’t disagree (although they likely just didn’t want to make a comic), they definitely could’ve created some form of micro-shorts (30-60 second) long content on Youtube thst could’ve helped finance longer episodes in the long run.
In this day and age where most kids are on Youtube and people are making $50,000 a day on preschool vids, I’m sure they could’ve worked something out.

Again, as much as I understand their decision, they REALLY should’ve considered making content for the web instead.

Even if Nick where to buy them out, there's not even a guarantee they'd make the thing. They'd more than likely just cut them a check for the rights, then sit on the property just so no one else could have it.

I don't know why they'd be so insistent on Nick in the first place. I doubt Disney or CN would be in a hurry to option them either but I'd have just as soon walked, myself. Thank them for their time but try pitching it elsewhere. Fucking hell, Bloody Netflix is always desperate for garbage.

I personally would have still love to have seen shorts or webcomics of the original idea. It might be shit, but i still would consume it for the charm.

Can someone give me a rundown on this project and its history? I heard there was another version but not much after that.

There's not really a lot to say. Dude's wanted to make a fantasy adventure show about animals. They made this trailer like 6 years ago and it's been dead since.
youtube.com/watch?v=ZHwO77C66Ds

Then they reworked it into the crappy nick version.

The entire concept of this show is so fucking dated, none of the networks are going to pick it up, none of them are looking for a show like this. Their best bet is pitching to a streaming service but it’s still not likely. There’s no audience for it.

>Furry
>Serialized adventure

Yeah he's off the mark by at least 3 decades.

Not because dumb. But because you can reuse school setting over and over

Why do you think episodes of the TUFF Puppy took place mostly in the agency?

I wouldn't know, I don't watch Tuff Puppy. What the hell is wrong with you, you faggot.

It’s a cutesy furry period piece that plays the trope straight. The serialized adventure thing is in right now, the other elements are not

Im just saying this would have gone over a lot easier in the 80s. The 80s where big into fur.

It was a wise move. These designs are far more marketable.

Kids these day don't care about medieval action figures like Gargoyles.

You’re right. It’s very Disney Afternoon.

Seriously. Shit's all kinds of dashing and daring. Even courageous and caring. Faithful and friendly with songs to share!

Ah, so THAT’S what it reminded me of!

there where a few other shows like that too. Nobody seemed to really cared or they cared way to much if something was furry.

Their dynamic reminds me heavily of Mabel and Dipper. She's like a Mabel

I hate things by christian furries. You just know they're seething and jealous at the gays.

If they used a Kickstarter to find the cartoon and made it a YouTube series, it would’ve been really hard to finance more episodes. One million views could get you around a $1K, and from experience an episode of this show would be pretty expensive. There would have to be a lot cheaper looking then it is now to be close to profitable.

did anyone else audition for the fox guy?

This is made by Zachary Rich, right? The same faggot who wasted 30 minutes on a plotless slapstick story crossovering MLP and PPG? God what a disappointment, and the faggot really let on like he had a good story in mind.
Purplesmart creates a potion, but the potion ends up being a monster born out of magic who wreaks havoc on the world. Then it's up to BlueFast and PurpleSmart to stop this monster.
That would have been infinitely better.

God what a dick teasing slut, Zach is. And the thing is that he really expressed himself eloquently and seemed to know what he was doing on his Deviantart comments. What a fag.

The 2 cats are really cute. Will they have intimate emotional-sexual moments together?

The team is actually sort of interesting. We have the 2 main adults, 2 teens/young adults and 2 kids. Interesting set of characters... IF THE PERSONALITIES PLAY WELL TOGETHER.

So basically an Aang/Toph dynamic? Unless they made the little rabbit also mature personality wise, it would have literally been just a kid teaching another kid to do stuff, which we've seen before.
It wouldn't have been the milf loli x shota dynamic.

>Unless they made the little rabbit also mature personality wise
All indications point to the original Melody being very mature compared to Caleb. Being the only one of your family to run off and go join a mercenary band to try and make a living as a forever-remembered legendary hero can do that.

2 cats? 2?

Who is the second cast?

Who is the second cat?

And more importantly are they dead or not?

We are all dead.

Foxes are whores.

The creator of this was a massive prick, and was chased out of the MLP fandom after he deleted the video countless artists worked on for free and he ghosted them and started this studio which took 7 years to shit out this shitty pilot that no one gives a fuck about (looks like a generic 3-5 year old show, woopty doo).

Shill your failure of a show elsewhere zack.

Yep that fag

He's also french, so yeah. SUPER. SLUTTY.

>Shits on the show in the OP
>Thinks that means they are the show creator

As someone who was in the pony fandom around then, I kinda respect that he didn't blow his load too early on that. Like, he managed to keep it completely quiet until release that it was a PPG crossover.
