The PS4 came out in 2013. If anything, Insomniac was held back by what the console could handle. The PS5's new system should give them a lot more to work with. Let's hope they focus on details and mechanics instead of trying to make it look prettier.

Spider-Man isn't "co-owned" by Sony, they have the film rights. It's not that much of a stretch to believe that some people, especially around the age that the heads are, would be passionate about one of the world's most popular superheroes. Sony's film division, as far as I've always heard, barely works with the rest of Sony at all in fact. It could have possibly been actually decided by Marvel, but it's not THAT far fetched.

I disagree, SM2 Ock had to give him the whole tragic dead wife and then in the end he was just suffering from a mental condition for the film, we didn’t need that, it’s just fluff. I will say that I really liked the moments when it seemed like Otto’s arms were talking to him and understanding him when he speaks, like pets. PS4 Otto on the other hand was just a desperate scientist who always had his criminal urges, he just kept them well hidden. The relationship between Peter and Otto too also led you into a gut punch the moment you learn that the chip and arms haven’t been the source of Otto’s supervillainry.

And the way the reflective surface of the suit catches the light from the city below is just cool

The build up felt forced as hell. Spider-Man doesn't need a sidekick. He's more interesting to me when it's him alone against the world full of enemies. It makes villains more threatening and the plight to save the people and his city look more urgent. Typical underdog shit. It'd be more interesting for Miles to become a villain.

The story holds up on its own but the quality of the swinging is what makes it great. It’s not perfect but the story is a nice remix, things happen in different orders but on the whole it’s nothing surprising to anyone why has even a normies level of knowledge with the character. It’s the best miles to, whatever these niggas say about spiderverse it’s meh, insomnia nutted up and actually wrote miles into peters story not over it. I still don’t like the little fucker but this is the first time the little nog has a purpose in peters life beyond ending it and that’s the actual first step in making him work
