No
no
lol no
I do, but I have a lot of issues with how he was introduced to the universe.
What's there to discuss? This is a whiny kid with a "will you be my father" complex.
Unrelated, his MJ is a fucking dog.
no
Villians are pretty strong so far, and offset the fact that he hangs out with the most annoying people to ever exist.
Hopefully they don't go as far as blowing his secret identity this early.
That being said I'm still interested in F4 and X-Men untill further notice.
He's a Spidey, not necessarily muh Spidey, but there are infinite Spidey's.
If we can accept a Spidey who's an anime girl and a cartoon pig, we can accept this Spidey as an OC
I like the actor and the character, but not how he is written
Also this.
Holland was great in Wolf Hall.
Yea Forums has a herd mentality.
It's literally just pol shills that don't like him
>Don't question product just consume product
Yeah, I can understand the argument of "Iron Man Jr" and that he'll be known as THE Spider-Man for the foreseeable future, but to me he is just MCU Spidey in a world of multiple SMs, and I'm ok with that.
>my Spider-Man is whiny
Did you even watch the raimi movies? Whining is all toby Maguire did in those movies!
i do but now people arent going to call him spiderman and revealing peters identity so soon or at all is a bad idea.
>straying from the herd is obeying the herd
Listen to yourself talk for once.
Indeed, but his problems are actually legimate and provide an understandable reason behind the whining. The fact that he doesn't kill himself in Spider-Man 2 is a testament to his character.
>Aunt May losing home and now kinda blames you for her husband's death.
>Failing classes.
>Mentor is broken and becomes a villain.
>Dead end job. Paychecks won't cover advance so he's literally making negative money.
>Living in squalor.
>Landlord hates him.
>Friend is distant and hates you.
>Love interest is marrying someone else.
>Losing powers and sense of worth.
Yea Forums has a nostalgia complex and can't evaluate stuff they watched as a kid without masturbating.
So we all know far from home is going to end with "no I'm not going to be the next iron man I have to forge my own path as Spider-Man" right?
>Hopefully they don't go as far as blowing his secret identity this early.
He was good in Civil War. Homecoming was an alright film but a horrible Spider-Man film. I don't like watching him anymore. They just keep throwing out potential plot points for cheap laughs. I'll wait to see if they manage to fix this but I'm skipping his movies unless I get something about it sounds really good.
I like him, but Yea Forums is a hivemind so you'll get shit on.
God forbid they try something new for the character after 60 years of Similar stories.
Seriously Spider-Man fans are such crybabies, If the MCU just went the same old route Yea Forums would whine that it lacks creativity and originality.
BREAKING NEWS! Yea Forums hates good things and loves shit.
Have sex
>new is always good
OK.
>>Landlord hates him
Bullshit. Peter was months late on rent and Ditkovitch didn't throw him out on his ass. That makes him a saint by Manhattan Landlord standards. He noticed when Peter was acting out of character. He clearly liked Peter and wanted the best for him.
>MCU Spidey
>Good
Yea Forums can cry and whine about it all they want but it doesn't change the fact that Teenagers have changed since the 60's and not every one is "Gosh Gee Golly" anymore
Whatever though, Yea Forums doesn't read comics anyways and This will be what Normies see as Spider-Man and it's absolutely based.
GOD I love MCU Spider-Man.
>Muh /pol/ boogeyman
He didn’t like Peter enough to fix his damn door though.
MCU Spider-Man has suffered quite a bit too desu
>Yea Forums doesn't read comics
Oh, they do. And knowing that MCU Spidey is adapting the worst Spider-Man books ever makes them sad.
Do YOU read comics, by the way?
Beep boop
>Differentiating from 60 years of Similar stories is bad
why do nuFags try so hard to seem like comic experts? Kill yourself kid stop trying so hard to be a contrarian
Based MCU Spidey is here to stay.
have sex
>why do nuFags try so hard to seem like comic experts
Are you talking about yourself?
Yes I do user, and it's clear to anyone who isn't retarded on what the MCU is gonna do with Spider-Man, His movies have literally all been Just The Original Ultimate comics.
>Yes I do
Prove it.
This. and there definitely feels like a lot of unnecessary RDJ dick sucking in Spider-man movies. I still enjoyed the movies but havent felt inclined to buy a copy tho
overall 7/10 I'm happy its not awkward Toby anymore but still feel like we missed peak spidey when it should have been an easy target to hit
The bait is too obvious. As for the comparison to the 60s, Spider-Man is easily translatable since he lives in fiction. Iron Man has no business in Spider-Man films. Spider-Man has enough content and supporting cast to support his own movie. Mysterio didn't even have to have been working for Stark. They could've just made another motivation for him and it would've worked just as well.
I never claimed to be retard but I'm not getting buttblasted over a company taking a different approach on one of their characters
You're that faggot bot that constantly says "Based Marvel" in every MCU thread.
Kill yourself
No, you're getting buttblasted over fans not trusting this sad adaptation of Spider-Man.
>I never claimed to
And yet you seem so convinced that you know about capes...
Fiege and Pascal have stated they are going the Harry Potter Route With MCU Spidey, It's clearly obvious to anyone that doesn't have 3 braincells that they'll undo the reveal in the next film and they'll move onto his college years
That's nice, user, but I asked you to prove you read comics.
Why are you choosing to ignore these posts?
I mean yeah Yea Forums does repeat some shit and thoughts but the fact that it's anonymous and you don't get banned here or censored for disagreeing sadly it's what makes this place the best for discussion even with its glaring faults. Want strong herd mentality? Go to reddit or any other comic related board like cbr. Where you can express an opinion of not liking this movie without being rude and you'll get downvoted until your post is hidden or have the entire board turned against you and instantly be mad at you no matter what you do there.
At least here even if you're in a situation where it seems like the majority is against you you'll get some anons that agree with you.
>Eveyone who doesn't agree with me is a bot samefag
That absolute state of Spider-Fags everyone.
Pascal doesn't work at Sony anymore. She moved to Paramount. Honestly, They could've done this "senior superhero wankery" in like movie 5 and I would've tolerated it more than them doing it twice in the row at the start of his career.
So you admit you're not a spider-fan?
ANOTHER POL HATES MCU THREAD
>So does anybody on Yea Forums like MCU Spidey?
I did at first. I thought the was great in Civil War and I enjoyed Homecoming. But the fact that he relies so much on Stark making his suits and constantly telling everyone who he is drives me fucking crazy.
I am a Spider-fan, Most of you guys are whiny babies.
I think he's pretty good in the Russo movies. Homecoming was whatever. Aside from his adoration of Iron Man, I think Peter's actual characterization is well done.
>spider-fans love any bad adaptation of the character
Nah.
I like him and his animated eyes.
No, there are far better versions of the character out there
This. They really soured it. He had it basically down in his introduction in Civil War. He was dumpster diving for his computer, he was already a superhero by implying Uncle Ben died and all that. All the Tony Stark worship/trying to impress him in that movie could've been translated into needing the money he can get from Stark. Homecoming introduced too many flaws and nitpicks. The supporting cast is weaket versions of the comics. Aunt May finding out that he's Spider-Man as a gag and not some major revelation is honestly annoying.
I liked some aspects of Homecoming (mainly the scenes with Vulture) but it didn't feel like a movie about Spider-Man. Holland is fine and he could probably do better with a better script. Also the cinematography in this movie is subpar and I hate how it makes web swinging boring.
>Everyone i don't like is a poltard
True, revealing something major in a post credit scene just for a gag is pretty shitty.
I think he’s pretty cool
But I understand why people don’t like him given the radical departure from the comics
Hopefully he moves past stark in FFH onward
He couldn't afford to
Because Parker doesn't pay his rent
There's a lot of Stark wanking in the MCU and him getting away with shit and seeing how FFH was the last movie of Phase 4 they couldn't help themselves. But yeah they need to move on from that character in the next phase. But
He kinda has to now that Stark is dead, FFH is the mourning period where he moves into his own person but he can't be Stark-central after this
He's a shitty landlord then, he should fix the damn door regardless who lives there because he should care about his building.
Looking back at it. They could have easily replaced Stark with Norman Osborn and made some adjustments. Spider-Man being centered around the Avengers too much takes away at how unique and "alone" the character can be.
>somebody makes ASM thread last night and mentions MCU in passing
>sudden flock of MCU drones and critics alike had a mini war for about five posts before thread dies
Y-yay.
He's 10/10 when he's swinging around cracking jokes and doing Spider-Man shit, but in terms of his actual character he's just not Spider-Man.
I like Holland, I liked Homecoming, but this isn't the kind of Spidey I want to see. It's an enjoyable elseworlds at best; as far as adaptations go, Raimi and Spectacular still haven't been topped.
Spidey's only noticeable quirk is that he quips a lot. He isn't a powerhouse like Thor or Hulk, isn't as smart as Tony, and isn't as charismatic or can leader like Rogers or T'challa, nor is his the powerless underdog like Romanoff or Clint. He's a middle power with the jokes. A clown. And can't even have that because everyone in Avengers quips, jokes, and are clowns.
MCU Spider-man is pretty good but he's not the Spider-man for thirty years old fans.
Marvel has declaredly wanted to move away from the classic spider man, even we already had a classic Spider-man with Raimi.
Making him technological, and all it is a way to bring him closer to today's kids who buy his toys. Anyways, old fans repeat continuously "muh Spider-man is a stronk independent hero that need no Iron man" but they would complain anyhow even without the RDJ thing. Even just the fact that Peter is 16 years old in Mcu bothers a lot of people in here.
>Just consume product or else you're a bigot >:^(
>Lives in really nice apartment
>Can afford shit like a $600 Lego Death Star despite not having a job
>Gets all of his gear from Tony Stark for free
>Everyone loves him
>He sometimes has to flake on his friends but they immediately understand and forgive him
>His hot aunt discovers his secret but totally approves of him going to space and getting murdered by a purple giant
>Even Vulture doesn't dislike him after he breaks up his family and sends him to jail
>Literally his only moment of genuine drama/struggle in Homecoming is that Iron Man isn't there to pull him out of the fire for once; even so he succeeds without any kind of sacrifice or consequence
>He gets bullied but everyone thinks his bully is a fag and Peter is a big brain turbo chad regardless
>He keeps getting free suits that fight crime for him
MCU Pete has it so fucking good. He has literally nothing working against him.
Holland is an ideal choice for a younger Peter but they give him nothing to work with by completely missing the point of Peter Parker as a protagonist.
Tugboat lives a life of womp-womps and tragedy, but continues being Spider-Man because it's the right thing to do.
Holland lives a life of adolescent privilege and decides to be Spider-Man because "YEE-HAW THIS IS AWESOME WOOOO!"
>inb4 "yeah but he died"
And he got better. In terms of gross suffering after Endgame, Peter made out like a bandit compared to people like Widow, Thor, and even Hawkeye.
I don't remember the part in Ultimate Spider-Man where Peter gets all of his gear from someone else, reveals his identity to the public, and never mentions Uncle Ben.
This.
Much like Yea Forums the MCU is not one person.
GotG was good because of Gunn. Infinity War was good because off the Russo's.
I don't think you read Ultimate Spidey
>Aside from his adoration of Iron Man, I think Peter's actual characterization is well done.
This. The thing that annoys me is that this is so close to being a perfect onscreen Peter. Just remove Iron Man and add in Uncle Ben and it's exactly what I'd want. I don't even mind him looking up to Tony the way tech geeks look up to Elon Musk or whatever, but they're totally missing the purpose of the character by removing his independence.
Spidey was one of the first notable teen heroes who operated under his own power, it's integral to who he is.
>Aunt May finding out that he's Spider-Man as a gag and not some major revelation is honestly annoying.
I'd have found it funny if the FFH trailer didn't confirm that he knew she knew.
Like, if FFH literally opened with
>"-UCK?"
>"AUNT MAY! UH HUH IT'S UH JUST A COSPLAY"
and then we as the audience know she knows but Peter thinks she bought it, that could be some effective drama. And then you get that classic "I've always known" moment later down the line.
But no Spider-Man is funny that means we can't take ANYTHING seriously.
Well he is now outed and a murder of a "beloved" hero and terrorist attacks have been pinned on him
>No "I've always known" moment
>No "Aunt May finds out from seeming bloody and bruised Peter next to his suit moment"
This is really what we are annoyed at, being denied Petes best moments
If that's what happens in FFH then good, it only took them half a decade to give us a proper friendly neighborhood menace man.
Also was this a good run of Spider-Man? I stopped reading shortly after the Wasp thing. No particular reason, just moved and never found another LCS. I was reading FF around the same time and remember liking that too.
Hopefully that's it and we get Kraven/Rhino in the next one. If they keep up the quality on the villians I would be happy with it.
Blowing his secret identity would ruin that.
>Blowing his secret identity would ruin that.
user...
>middle aged men butthurt about Tony Stark ripping them off are pretty strong villains
It was already old in Iron Man 2.
I enjoy that his movies have gone out of their way not to be rehashes of every other Spider-Man movie.
>wtf wheres uncle ben
UNCLE BEN DRAMA HAS BEEN MILKED ENOUGH HE CAN GO FUCK OFF WE FUCKING GET IT
Are the leaks confirmed yet?
His joke aren’t even that good, Holland comes across too much as a little kid and there’s not enough taking the piss out of criminals. It’s too much like Burt Ward Robin.
There was a video going around yesterday, so I think they're confirmed.
the leak was actual footage from the movie, so yes
>enjoy that his movies have gone out of their way not to be Spider-Man movie.
Fify
Iron boy? Fuck no, kid can't tie his fucking shoes without crying for Papa Stark. What a joke.
Well, good thing I'm not a ruined forever fag.
Also Spider Verse was good, are Miller and Lord attached to the sequel? At least producing?
>They could have easily replaced Stark with Norman Osborn
No fool, Norman will be introduced in MCU Spider-Man 3. He'll become Iron Patriot and twist Tony's legacy, leading to the Dark Avengers, and ending in Peter defeating the twisted image of his mentor and stepping into his rightful place as the world's greatest hero. And then Norman loses it and becomes the Goblin.
That sounds like shit.
>Can afford shit like a $600 Lego Death Star despite not having a job
That was Ned's.
Ned is ok
Nop
People shilling for MCU Spider-Man are summerfags
I've been here too long
Best Spider Man so far.
nope
I do. Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man. Looks like a teenager, acts like a nerd.
Tobey McGuire was a nerd, but he was and looked too old. Andrew Garfield looked like a teenager, but he was too "cool."
I don't mind that MCU Spidey looks up to, and is supported by, Iron Man. Spider-Man has had two movie franchises, dozens of cartoons and countless comic book series. He's been the biggest name in Marvel, and one of the most popular superheroes of all time, for decades. He can afford to be a bridesmaid instead of the bride for the millionth time in a row.
MJ and Flash should be white, though.
I like him, they just need to let him grow a bit. Next movie will probably have college Peter.
>People shilling for MCU Spider-Man are summerfags
>you don't get banned here or censored for disagreeing
Only newfags think this.
Get mad.
I don't care enough
the actor and the performance are great. i'm not huge on how he was introduced, being awkwardly crowbarred into civil war with no explanation of how tony even knew peter was spider-man. i'm also not a massive fan of how he's mostly used to service tony's character and development, but these aren't big enough problems that it makes me hate the incarnation of the character or anything.
Get mad.
user...
I like him. He's brilliant and dorky. Just what it needs, and Tom really delivers the character perfectly
And he's not another rehash character like almost every other people here wanted. Seriously, they just don't want anything new or original to happen. Just the same rehash all over again. And honestly, I'm glad the MCU did this
I mean they did with Spider-verse while still managing to faithfull to the themes of the source material.
If they didn't want to tell a story about responsibility, burdens and ordinary people, they should have just made a film about another teen superhero.
But that's what they did.
If they needed to deliver something new , why didn't they just use Miles? They already stole Ganke.
Or why not make a film about another hero? If they didn't want to adapt the story of Spider-man, why did they use Spider-man?
Ordinary people don't get mentorship from billionaire CEO superheroes.
And what alternative did they find to supporting Aunt May's health issues? What alternatives did they find for the social isolation that Peter experiences as an effect of his double life?
Fpbp
But they did. It's Spider Man. Down to the shitty life.
>Spider Man
>Down to the shitty life
You should read the comics to see what a shit life is.
no its just that anyone who has read and enjoyed spiderman and peter parkers stories can recognize a bullshit bastarization when they see one. if anyone has a herd mentality its you cunts w you tired repeats about what co/ is like that let you never have to think or debate a point on any level. you just spam some generalization and keep grazing on recycled cud like cows
>why didn't they just use Miles?
Because Peter is Marvel's most iconic character? Miles will never happen in live action
or people who like flash, liked liz, liked mj, and liked peters origin as a kid taking his uncles lesson going it alone and how that led to him being a real stand alone hero w an ethic that resonated w all of american culture and capeshit. you know, it could be that the people who disagree w you have an actual point.
The first half done by Romita JR is Spider-Kino, the second half has a lot more editorial mandates but still has some decent stories (Back in Black, Skin Deep).
as if the raimi movies are what people are talking about. some of us actually read the comics and were fans of the spiderman stories. these stories are hot garbage and this is worse and less interesting "spiderman" wod in every way. peter was a foundational hero and an archetype all his own. this new "spiderman" is just garbage
So it's not a matter of creativity and originality anymore?
He goes to a fucking selective school, has a billionaire for a mentor and the whole vigilante thing is about his self-esteem.
His life is a fucking cakewalk.
After Spider-Verse I think people will be more open to the idea of new heroes.
Not anymore
I don't hate him because it's definitely a new take on the hero unlike Amazing Spider-man movies. Like, he's not just Tony's sidekick, he's under his guidance for sure, but he's on his way to becoming his own man. Tony's death is definitely an interesting aspect in that development.
I also view it as a continuation of Ultimate Spider-man's idea that would've been interesting to explore had Bendis not "killed" Ultimate Peter to introduce Miles right when things started to get interesting again.
So, who was in the wrong here?
>expecting consequences from an MCU movie
Yeah, just like Civil War had a lasting impact and we really saw Cap and co. go through some shit being fugitives and all.
Oh no, Wanda couldn't fuck Vision is his cosy Avengers HQ apartment and Tony felt awkward before dialing Steve up on a phone, such drama.
No. It's trash. It's just Ironboy.
Yea Forums is the most tumblr board, what did you expect?
>joke about memeification of online fandoms
>lets make it a copypasta
Jesus Christ.
Those of us who ACTUALLY read the comics know Tom Holland's Peter is indisputably the closest live action Peter there has been.
dilate
lol who the fuck do you think you're kidding
Yea Forums in general does, mostly around 'counter culture' things in an effort to show they're actually different then everyone else!
The irony is of course lost on them
He's not Spider-man. While entertaining as standalone films he simply doesn't match up to the Peter Parker I know from the comics.
Look it's fine to like MCU Spidey for what he is, in an elseworlds kind of way. But it should serve as no surprise that long time Spider-Man readers are a bit hostile with this version. MCU Spider-Man is, with no exaggeration, service level understanding of the character. It's different for the sake of it, to differ from the past two films, and a lot feels shoehorned into this universe. Granted not all change is bad, case in point Vulture being damn good.
It was in Peter's bedroom though, I assumed it was his
Are you baiting or...?
>UNCLE BEN DRAMA HAS BEEN MILKED ENOUGH HE CAN GO FUCK OFF WE FUCKING GET IT
That's literally the entire crux of the character though. It's like complaining that Batman has a bat motif. If you don't like it go find another character.
>Hopefully they don't go as far as blowing his secret identity this early.
Oh sweet heart....
We don't need to see Uncle Ben get shot, but a framed photo or a brief flashback of what Ben taught him would be nice
Holy shit you’re wrong
>Jerking us around for an entire movie instead of just making Norman the Goblin right off the bat
I'm so sick of when the MCU does shit like this. "Oh, that thing you like will actually resemble the thing you like 3 movies from now". Like motherfucker I don't care about your re-imagining. Either give it to me or don't.
I bet Norman's Goblin stuff will be based off of Stark tech, because he's the only person who has super science aside from Hank Pym in this universe.
He's sorta wrong but at the same time Uncle Ben and Peter's guilt around his hand in his death IS the crux of his character.
If you don't get that then you don't get Spider-man
How is he wrong? Wasted digits. Uncle Ben taught him what was important in life, and Peter's mistake which led to his death has driven him ever since
>It'll be like real Spider-Man next movie!
That's what we were saying after Homecoming came out. I liked Homecoming, but I've had to come to terms with the fact that these movies are not about Spider-Man in any way beyond the superficial.
It's a means of selling web shooters to little kids and making manchildren who don't read comics feel like they have some degree of nerd cred because now they can say "well um actually he's the MOST accurate because he has mechanical webshooters, he make joke, and he is kid".
There isn't compelling drama or any of the classic Spider-Man tropes like a secret identity or his strained social life and isolation from his peers as both a teen and hero because that's harder to write than bombastic CGI action and (admittedly pretty funny) jokes.
These are fine movies but they ain't Spider-Man.
>why didn't they just use Miles?
Because even though diversity is our strength (tm), blacks are too scary until they're proven to be financially viable.
Sounds like you just don't like Spider man.
Nope. While Pete has whit, MCU Pete substitutes it for pop culture references. While Pete is the architect of his own identity, MCU Pete is Iron-Boy. MCU in general just takes good characters and turns them into shit Spidey is no exception.
You're just old.
>Be Raimi Peter
>Uncle is dead
>Aunt is a million years old and constantly in poor health
>best friend hates me because he thinks I killed his dad
>relationship is always in turmoil either physically or emotionally due to double life
>live in shithole apartment
>work two jobs
>still can't make rent because ailing aunt
>no one knows I'm Spider-Man so no one sympathizes with me when I'm late or absent or inattentive
>Bugle paints me as a menace using pictures I get risking my life
>constantly get beaten to a bloody pulp when fighting villains
>suit is constantly getting fucked up, need to repair it myself
>despite this, soldier on and be Spidey because great power/great responsibility
>Be MCU Peter
>Uncle is dead (if he even exists) but I don't think about it often
>Aunt is hot as shit
>live in nice, multibedroon apartment
>don't need a job because Mr Stark gives me an allowance
>don't need to build my gear because Mr Stark
>friends all know I'm Spidey, are cool with it
>Aunt knows, is cool with it
>Everyone instantly forgives me if I'm late or whatever
>am an Avenger, they all love me
>city loves me
>Everyone loves me
>Even my villain thinks I'm a good kid
>bully is a scrawny bitch no one likes or listens to
>I don't wanna be Spider-Maaaaan, I wanna go on a luxury tour of Eurooooope
>But I gotta, or else Mr Stark won't give me cool new toys
>Mr Stark is dead, that's like the first sad thing that's happened to me, good thing I've got this incredible support system and all these resources to keep my mind off my worries
lol you havent read shit
The kid is a well-off child prodigy with super powers and a multi-billionaire benefactor.
If that's your idea of a shitty life, I can only assume your name is Barron Trump.
Preferable to being a kid and actually liking MCU Spider-Man I guess.
sounds like you know fuck all and you're saying shit just to say it. worthless
>(you)
>but he was and looked too old
You realise that Peter was only in high school for about half of SM1, right? He was in college and working for every other instance of screen-time.
>hurrr we don't want a rehash of the tired old Spider-Man
>wtf I love Peter Parker in high school for the third time
>Impyling Peter's guilt and resulting martyrdom complex stemming from Uncle Ben's murder aren't the crux of his character
>Implying "gee gosh I gotta impress Iron Man" is anywhere near the same thing
It is you who is wrong, zoomer. Read a comic.
>Old man yells at spider man cloud
I like it when it's accurate to what Spider-Man is.
I even like Homecoming, despite it not really being a Spider-Man movie, so much as it is a movie about white Miles.
People already know about Uncle Ben though.
I'm pretty sure lots of zoomers got attached to Raimi-man too, with the small gaps between movie continuities in their formative years they probably see MCU Peter as "a" spidey
So mcu Spider-Man has both uncle Ben and Tony Stark dead? That's a rough life.
WE do.
But we're not the target audience for a Spider-Man movie. We're not the ones who are gonna go buy the toys and pajamas and bedsheets. Spider-Man's primary audience for stuff like this has always been kids. And as far as kids are concerned:
>Peter Parker goes to a genius school for super-scientists
>all of his friends are scientists
>he's Iron Man's sidekick
>Everyone knows his secret identity
>most of his villains are either classmates or adults angry at Iron Man
Besides, you don't have to recount his origin for Uncle Ben to play a prominent role in the character's development. Look at the Insomniac game; that did a great job of making Ben's influence on Peter's work as Spidey feel very real.
What if, during that montage in Homecoming where May is getting him ready for the dance, we just got a quiet moment, maybe a minute or two at most, where she makes some comment on how Peter's suit used to be Ben's? And then they reminisce about him for a bit or something?
Pairing Peter up with Iron Man isn't a bad idea, but making him Peter's driving mentor, the reason he aspires to be the Amazing Spider-Man, makes Peter look like a shallow little kid who needs to be handed everything and only strives to improve so he can get his toys back.
Homecoming was a great setup to establish Peter as his own man with an identity outside of Iron Man's shadow and everything since has just kind of ignored that.
Peter's humor is more than just references. MCU Spidey's jokes are mostly "Hey remember that one movie?
>But we're not the target audience for a Spider-Man movie.
Imagine that.
>WE do.
>But we're not the target audience for a Spider-Man movie.
user, Uncle Ben has died on practically every form of media known to man. There is probably an ancient cave painting in France depicting the murder of Uncle Ben.
Only Batman's parents in Crime Alley has been beaten to death culturally more often than that poor bastard.
No. His movies are just Iron Man movies. They even pulled the George Lucas poetry shit with that first post credits scene in FFH to try and "rhyme" it with Iron Man 1's ending.
To this day I still believe that people were so negative about the Amazing Spiderman movies because they weren't part of the MCU
ASM1 is decent, ASM2 shit the bed so hard that no one wanted anything to do with it. Great costume though.
>shitting on Tobey
Kill yourself you twink fapping faggot
Go fuck yourself. I couldn't give a fuck less about that, it's that they've turned SPIDER-MAN into Iron Man's sidekick. That's fucking insane.
>forgetting that we already had an Iron Patriot in Iron Man 3
Because the MCU Spidy was too attached to the hip to Ironman and his identiy is fucked for it.
Just give me fucking Miles, cause if the MCU can do him half as good as Spiderverse then he'll already be more Spiderman than the current one
>Homecoming
>entire movie is about Peter being Spidey for the wrong reasons
>"muh suit, gotta impress Mr Stark, I wannuh be Avenger"
>whole movie he's constantly fucking up by disobeying Tony
>whole movie the Stark suit is fucking up, literally not a single gadget works properly the entire time
>Gets the suit taken away after the ferry incident
>is forced to fight Vulture in his own homemade kit, wins
>very clear metaphor/character arc
>"clothes don't make the man"
>Tony was wrong for trying to make him a little Iron Man
>Peter was wrong because he lost sight of why he needed to be Spider-Man in the first place
>rejects the Iron Spider suit and a spot on the team to stay in the neighborhood and fight for the little guy
>Gets his Stark suit back for being a good lad, will probably retrofit it to his own needs later (losing shit that almost got him killed like the parachute, instant kill mode, and cluttered HUD)
>rest of the MCU immediately takes a steaming shit on this idea
>Spider-Man needs MORE gadgets
>He needs to be a full-fledged Avenger NOW
>MORE suits he didn't make, MORE ACTION FIGURES
>after deciding to be a "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man", the sequel has him going to fucking Europe, bitching and moaning that being a superhero is haaaaard and he just wants a vacaaaation
They passed it right into the endzone then fumbled so hard they took out the poor Make a Wish kid sitting on the sidelines.
I enjoy him. And a lot of my problems with him seem to have been solved by the end of FFH.
>Mysterio says that Spider-Man is using Stark technology as an army
>The public now has a reason to hate/distrust Spider-Man
>Aunt May can't have him show up for Charity events, so they might have some money problems later
>Having Jameson
>Making his own suit (I don't care if he used Stark Technology, if you 3D Print something, does what you printed belong to the company that made the printer?)
And given how FFH ended, I really hope they have Scorpion as his next villain. Given Kraven is due for a movie (unless Disney steps in and tells them no, like how they had Norman Osborn written out of Black and Silver).
If I'm right and Scorpion is the next villain, I really hope they remember that he was supposed to be Jameson's "Anti-Spider-Man," and be the next big hero. And with Peter now having a reason to hate Jameson, it could lead to some interesting dynamic between the two.
He's been beating his dick for years over the idea of Dark Reign, even though it's about as likely as "X-Babies: the Motion Picture".
Apparently Dark Reign was took his comic book virginity or something.
You can't dissuade him.
>actually wanting Miles in anything
Those movies were horrible even if they loosely followed the Ultimate Spider Man comics
Again, I'm telling you, kids don't read comics the way they used to. They get most of their superhero stuff via movies and TV. I'm willing to bet that's how it was for the majority of people on Yea Forums.
These movies are so scared of being compared to the classics that they'll leave out parts of the story that prevent the end product from feeling whole. I don't need an hour of Peter Parker moping around before getting bit by the spider. But it wouldn't kill them to mention Uncle fucking Ben once in a while. It's a huge part of the emotional aspect of the character, which is why these new iterations feel so superficial. It's like if Superman NEVER mentioned Krypton or Smallville, or if Batman only vaguely alluded to Alfred.
Like yeah it can be done, but why would you feel that's necessary? If it feeling too familiar scares you so much, choose a different character to adapt, there's a fuckload of them. Only problem is few are as profitable as Spidey, and that's how these kinds of movies are made.
I understand why it is the way it is, but that doesn't stop it from feeling cynical, unnecessary, and annoying.
We recently had Miles in something
I'd take Miles over Ironboy any day of the week.
Spiderverse is the only good Spiderman movie of the past decade
Kinda, but I think it was more a longing for what could be. Like, TASM came out the same year as Avengers.
Marvel Studios has fucking Thanos showing up in the credits and Sony is over here still trying to ape The Dark Knight with one of the most colorful, upbeat heroes in comics. It was doomed from the start.
>These are fine movies but they ain't Spider-Man.
And what would Spider-man be? The one you recognize with your personal references?
The spider-man of the 90s, which I assume many here have as a model for their "muh Spider-man" gets to that point after more than twenty years of stories and evolutions with different phases. I will not force people to go and read the stories of Romita Sr, but today's Spider-man is very different from the 80s one.
Changing and updating is normal. In the 90s Spider-man was way more violent and cynical, but the whole Marvel universe was going through an aggressive cultural phase at that time.
Today we are at different times .
And it was bad
>Spiderverse is the only good Spiderman movie of the past decade
I hope you're just shitposting.
>not liking Spider-Verse
Seethe
>Today we are at different times
Does that mean that you have to change almost all of the core aspects of the character?
>Gets his Stark suit back for being a good lad, will probably retrofit it to his own needs later (losing shit that almost got him killed like the parachute, instant kill mode, and cluttered HUD)
The soundtrack title for the moment he gets the suit back is called, "No Frills ProtoCOOL," given that frills can be defined as "unnecessary," it's implied that the suit he actually gets back is just stripped of all those gadgets.
>rest of the MCU immediately takes a steaming shit on this idea
>He needs to be a full-fledged Avenger NOW
>MORE suits he didn't make, MORE ACTION FIGURES
Iron Spider was just thrown onto him because Tony gave it to him to keep him from suffocating in space.
>after deciding to be a "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man", the sequel has him going to fucking Europe, bitching and moaning that being a superhero is haaaaard and he just wants a vacaaaation
Peter's put off being Spider-Man on vacations before(see; Spider-Man vs. Wolverine) Given all the time he's seemingly been behind the mask, even his aunt using his identity for charity events, and him taking the suit would make it look like Spider-Man just following where his class is, and be suspicious, I can see why he'd want to use the vacation to take a break for a few weeks.
>a badly made movie that can't fulfil it's own premise correctly due to bad focusing and covers up its flaws in loud noises and colours which is all you need to entertain kids
Acquire taste.
I like him. Most of the people on Yea Forums that hate him are either diehard anti-MCU contrarians or /pol/acks that get all assflustered over MJ not being white.
Absolutely hate it, but I do like the idea of Holland being in like 20 Spidey movies and slowly becoming a different character and more like classic Spidey as he gets into college and the workplace. And hopefully a new girlfriend instead of that roach.
Villains are shit. Vulture needed cancer, and why couldn't Mysterio be a stage performer?!
>Making his own suit (I don't care if he used Stark Technology, if you 3D Print something, does what you printed belong to the company that made the printer?)
user it's the same fuckin' suit except with black instead of blue. It's not Peter's design.
they have no idea how insane it is. they literally have no frame of reference bc they never read anything and definitely not the original comics. spiderman to them is just what theyve gotten from movies and cartoons. these absolute idiots are shitty enough to the just pretend they care about things they know nothing about for the "cred".
Imagine being this retarded.
"the fans of the franchise arent the target audience for the franchise"
and dumbass over here thinks thats an obvious choice to make instead of a stupid one
you dont know a fucking thing. name the comic arc of spiderman that doesnt have that as the foundational floor of his heroic character.
Way to out yourself faggot. Spidey had no realtion to Tony in those books. Cap was about to school him right before he died. But maybe there was more than one run of Ultimate Spider-Man, guessing you read something based on the cartoon.
To me, Spider-Man is a character who overcomes great odds. He's constantly struggling and suffering, but he pulls through because he fucked up and got selfish once and it cost him dearly.
He's bullied at school. His aunt is sick. His friends think he's a flake. He can't make rent. His boss is a dragon. And that's before he even puts on the suit.
As Spider-Man, he's constantly going up against people bigger and badder than he is. People with more money, more power, more tech. So he has to be quick-witted and light on his feet to save the day.
The whole city is against him, but he finds motivation to carry on from those around him. From his sense of responsibility.
I don't think MCU Spider-Man is inadequate for any superficial reasons. I like the costume, I like the actor, I like the jokes. I even like the movies.
But he's missing that one vital element that makes Spider-Man a compelling protagonist for me. The Raimi movies are cheesy and inaccurate to the source material, but they understand that emotional drive leagues better than these new movies do.
One of the most important aspects to Spidey is that, despite his age, he's going it alone. He's independent; not Spider-Boy, but Spider-MAN. It's the kind of shit young people can really identify with, and that can remain resonant as you get older.
These new movies are lacking that sense of independence, of personal responsibility. When he's swinging around and webbing dudes up, it's classic kino Spidey action, but all the stuff inbetween that just feels off. Like someone assembled a committee of executives to determine what aspects of the character they were and were not allowed to use going forward.
So now we have a Spider-Man who isn't a social outcast, who doesn't have any money troubles, who doesn't have a stressful job or an ailing aunt, who doesn't really have any struggles beyond "I hope I can punch the guy hard enough".
And all that stuff is what makes Spidey so interesting to begin with.
And let me guess, you are fully convinced that you know what the core of the character is.
Well, from my point of view Spider-Man of Mcu is doing exactly what he needs to do, trying to address to young audience.
Power, responsibility, Uncle Ben, are only narrative tools. But the spider-man MCU is passing the same messages with a different path. Many are so angry that Ben is now Tony Stark that they doesn't see that although the road is different, Peter's path is quite faithful to his origin. Yes it's a bit different from the usual and it does that by lickingRdj ass, but considering that the Mcu exists thanks to him, it is granted.
Why do people compare those movies to Ultimate? Neither Lizard, Goblin or Electro had anything in common with their Ultimate counter parts. Spidey had about as much to do with Ultimate as he did any other run.
But I agree with the movies being horrible. The writing was trash. Casting was solid however
>oh y-yeah? Well the movie is b-bad! So there!
Project any harder and we can watch the premiere of FFH right here
>stutter posting
Rekt
>Power, responsibility
>only narrative tools
It's the literal basis for why he's a superhero.
>trying to address to young audience
Again, why does that mean that you have to change everything about the character and his supporting cast?
>Peter's path is quite faithful to his origin
Like fucking hell it is.
If we're the ones being catered to, why is there controversy? Shouldn't Yea Forums by and large love this iteration that is supposedly being made for us, the grown adults who will pay for a single movie ticket (assuming we don't watch a camrip) and then pirate the home release? And not the children who will see the movie, demand a popcorn and soda, then buy hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in Spidey merch?
What possible motivation could studios have for courting the younger, toy-buying demo over us longtime fans who post scans of each new comic every Wednesday?
>Name a storyline where "I gotta impress Iron Man" is the foundational floor of his character
Gotta say, I'm stumped.
I'm almost positive the "consume product" thing was originally a /vp/ meme that got popular because of the Gamefreak debacle.
>Shouldn't Yea Forums by and large love this
4 Chan loves nothing and no one.
This entire board exists to REEEE cathartically and act snobbish towards people with less "refined" tastes.
Fans don't lurk here. Autistic Fandoms do.
The fact that he was gonna fix it at all already makes him a better landlord than 99% of the pathetic parasites that pretend to be landlords.
I like him fine, this is just the latest thing for people to latch onto now that they've moved past bitching about Brie Larson.
>trying to address to young audience.
That's what the character used to be about though. There are other ways to relate to kids other than going "hey recognize LEGO Star Wars on sale now?" "Hey remember movie???"
Spidey took off because he was one of the first heroes kids could actually relate to
>I'm being bullied at school
>I'm experiencing loss for the first time
>I got in a fight with my friends
>Studying is hard when I'm dealing with other things
>I feel like I don't have anyone to talk to
>I don't have a lot of money
>I don't know how to impress the girl
>People are spreading rumors about me
>I want my parents to be proud of me
It's all stuff kids can really relate to on a deep level and MCU Pete hardly struggles with any of these. He's got it really good. Fighting a villain should always be the cherry on top of the shit sundae Peter has to deal with, not the main course.
>I got my grades up!
>Aunt May got discharged from the hospital with a clean bill of health!
>And I'm bringing these flowers to MJ!
>Things are finally looking up-
>*is immediately gut-checked by the Rhino*
0/10 bait.
Still not seeing an argument.
It's okay if you dislike something good. No one's going to judge you so long as you aren't a big faggot about it.
It's from Redlettermedia mocking Star Wars fans
Not true. Yea Forums likes a lot of things, it's just the sad truth that most real discussion is drowned out by porn, Yea Forums, and a bit of Yea Forums. Then a portion of positive posters turn into a circlejerk general if left unchecked
>4 Chan loves nothing and no one.
Maybe that's because Yea Forums is made up of a bunch of smaller, individual boards and those are made of dozens of posters with different opinions that make it hard for there to be a general consensus.
And even then that's bullshit since there's stuff that most boards agree on that's good and bad.

Seems to me that all this or almost is there in the Mcu Spider-man. Flash is simply annoying and non-violent, but that's what many bullies today are. Less physical, more cowardly, with their social media.
>Hive of Scum and
I never said that. Nu4chan thinks raiding it's own boards is edgy.
I'm saying that Yea Forums is a bunch of pathological complainers who will never be happy with anything.
>Not true. Yea Forums likes a lot of things,
Yeah, like Hellboy. Oh wait.
Iron Lad is shit. I thought he had a nice introduction in CW but they went overboard with MR STARK MR STARK MR STARK wankery.
Yea Forums still likes Hellboy, as well as
>Sandman
>Whomp!
>Doom Patrol
And so on
So?
MCU Flash is just one of the gang and no one takes him seriously. It's not really an effective bully if he doesn't have the clout the make people believe his target is actually a loser.
Not saying he has to be Johnny Letterman Jacket, but the ASM movies had a way more accurate version of what Flash should be.
My biggest beef with it is that it would have literally zero defenders or sympathizers if it wasn't MCU. They aped the MCU for an AU in the comics like a year ago and no one even remembers it.
No one takes Flash's bullying seriously, he doesn't get in fights with his friends, he almost becomes a high-school dropout because he wanted to be an avenger, he talks to Ned about being Spider-Man (and it doesn't come back to bite him in the ass), he never struggles with money, there weren't any rumors going around in high-school and he wanted Tony to be proud of him, not his dad.
I don't know what the fuck you're talking about
So what?
>Yea Forums still likes Hellboy,
I see you've missed the last 200 Hellboy threads.
>I'm saying that Yea Forums is a bunch of pathological complainers who will never be happy with anything.
It's not about making sure the audience know there was a Ben who is now dead, it's about showing clearly in the text of the work that Spider-man was a result of Uncle Ben. That Spider-man is driven by the memory of an ordinary man who taught him his values.
As far as we know in the MCU, Ben's death was a thing that Peter feels kind of guilty about and has responded by following the path and example of Iron Man.
That is a very different, and as far as I'm concerned, inferior story.
>I'm saying that Yea Forums is a bunch of pathological complainers who will never be happy with anything.
This is a very newfriend opinion. It's super easy to think this IF you haven't been here for very long. It's also possible to think this if you tourist visit every few months and then forget about it.
No I know what you're talking about, it was your run of the mill shitposting given his attitude
Frank Castle's family dies in every Punisher AU and adaptation. I don't mind because it's a pivotal moment in determining who he will become, just like Uncle Ben dying.
nope.
also thank for the spoilers. I dont have no need to watch the movie
I mean he's colourful but Spider-man is hardly what you'd call an upbeat story. It's more of a Kafka Comedy sort of story.
Maybe unpopular opinion but I'd argue that Andrew's Peter-Parker is actually the closest of the live-action movie Peter's.
Not close but the closest of the three options we got.
Eh, bit too much of a mumbly weirdo rather than a geeky dweeb. Guess it's a matter of opinion.
>But the spider-man MCU is passing the same messages with a different path.
So if it's not power & responcibility, what is that same message?
>Yea Forums can cry and whine about it all they want but it doesn't change the fact that Teenagers have changed since the 60's and not every one is "Gosh Gee Golly" anymore
MCU Peter is the epitome of Gosh Gee Golly.
"If you're nothing without the suit then maybe you don't deserve it"
Uncle Tony - 2017
Because as we all know, it's the suit that makes Spiderman.
Power and responsibility
LOL no.
took me a while to realise it, i really liked homecoming, but i absolutely fucking hate the character and have no interest to watch far from home or anything related to him really.
i kinda feel the same for spiderverse, great movie i enjoyed it, i even identified with miles and his struggles, but i feel nothing for him or care about what he is up to in a sequel, he is just not interesting.
He was somewhere more snobby weirdo-dweeb. His geekery was mocked but it was his perceived social isolationism that set off his classmates.
There's this idea of Peter as a bumbling, shy geek that's never really been true in the comics but still pervades the social conscious.
That has never been the message of Spider-man.
And apparently it is all about the suite because we could have told the same story with a different name and been truly fresh but then Disney couldn't bank on a recognisable icon.
>Black arms completely instead of red on the lower arms and black in the pits.
>Front spider symbol has longer legs.
>Back spider symbol is completely different from the tick (I'm gonna miss that).
>Brighter red.
>Black lines that were on the first suit are either gone or less obvious
>different texturing on the black
It still has the same shape and look, but don't try to tell me that, "It's just black instead of blue!" when there are plenty of changes.
user, I was joking.
I don't know how I could've made it more obvious.
>Because as we all know, it's the suit that makes Spiderman.
I'm probably too stupid. Explain yourself better so I can understand. If there is one thing Homecoming does it is just to emphasize that Peter is Spider-man even without the suit.
The suit just makes everything more fun for him.
Yeah okay, and his left pinky also has 1 extra black line on it, soooo many changes
You don't remember when they took the best storyline of the Ditko/Lee era and made it about him realizing that it was him that was the hero, not the suit?
Sure he didn't need the suit, but to make it this big revelation that he had when he was at his lowest is fucking disgraceful to the character.
I know it's an impossible question and the answer will be IT'S FUCKING SHIT!!!!! but, has anyone here seen an earlier of Far From Home?
Is it good? I don't really trust the reviews although I hope for a good movie.
My only beef is that people were dicks about the TASM series saying that they weren't comic accurate but they give MCU spidey a pass because he's in the MCU. It's bullshit.
MCU Spidey sucks
MCU Iron-boy is good
>So does anybody on Yea Forums like MCU Spidey?
Whats up with the viral marketing its a Spiderman MCU movie. It will makes tons of money no matter what we think
And she has a new hat!
>but they give MCU spidey a pass because he's in the MCU.
Doesn't seem that they gave him any pass. In some cases, Mcu SPider-man has to fight even a greater hostility. People tend to accept what happens in Russo films, because well ... they are the Russo, and Spider-man is well used there.
Both are inaccurate
No
I know this sounds a bit stupid, but I kind of want Insomniac to release a surprise update where this becomes a costume in the PS4 game. Look I may hate MCU Peter, but even I admit his suit looks sexy in game
Almost every costumes are done well in the game.
A year later it's pretty unlikely. It'll undoubtedly be in the sequel, though.
They added Bombastic Bag Man and Future Foundation out of nowhere though
Doesn't matter. He was still too old looking to be a 17-21 year old.
>So does anybody on Yea Forums like MCU Spidey?
Only """"marvel"""" shills aka 90% of the entire board right now.
There is no need to have to worry about MCU Spider-Man when we have another amazing version just oozing with potential....and probably leftover pizza.
>>work two jobs
Works one job. He got canned at the beginning of the second movie.
>constantly get beaten to a bloody pulp when fighting villains
Fucking this. It's seriously like a Raimi mandate that Peter get absolutely fucked up at the end of each movie.
>WE do.
I understand kind user. Aside from the most recent Spider-Verse movie which had like a two second clip and the PS4 game, I don't know how current audiences are supposed to know who uncle ben even is. Much less why he is so important for Peter's growth as a hero. I don't remember him being mentioned in Spectacular Spider-Man nor do I remember seeing him in the TV Ultimate Spider-Man. Like you said, kids don't read comics like they used to and even if they did, I don't know of any recent ones that recapped Ben's death beyond a passing comment.
The fact that Uncle Ben made an appearance in the final Spider-Man Animated Series episode is just icing on the cake. Also SPIDER-CARNAGE?!?!?! That show was a wild ride.
>Age Stealing Vulture
>Cyborg Chameleon
>Red Skull Son Electro
>Super Soldier Black Cat
Shit was cash.
>immediately tries to join Fantastic Four
>"I needs to get paid ya'll!"
> "Sorry, we're non-profit, also don't you have a SHIT TON of bad press?"
he wasn't independent because he wanted to be...
I grew up reading ultimate and these movies are nothing like them aside from Peter being in high school. And even then, Ultimate Peter from the comics had a really different high school experience.
He turned down a spot on the Avengers too, and he just wanted to join the FF for money.
But now what are they going to do if they ever do a Miles movie? It’ll make it seem like a ripoff if they use Ganke even though the whole lego-building roommate thing was Miles’s first.
It never got as brutal as Spider-Man 1 again.
I know it may be just a rumor but I heard this scene was a potential tipping point for when the MPAA was assigning a ranking. The lack of music and exaggerated sounds of people literally throwing themselves at each other with as much force they can muster is haunting. I am never going to get tired of this scene. While the Ock fight was better choreographed, it didn't have anywhere close to the impact of this confrontation.

Where the fuck did the spear come from?!?!? I'm just going to assume it was an extendable weapon that he kept on his person.
It should be fun, their production value is high. MCU Spidey has been a radical departure since Civil War and Homecoming already. If you liked him up to this point in the mcu, you will enjoy this film.
Same thing they did with Into the Spiderverse. Take a hard left from BENIS.
I hate him.
No I have to go my pizza is here anons.
While it doesn't match the absolute brutality of this fight, I feel Spidey's bout with all the villains in the episode Gangland was pretty schway. It isn't often you get to see a hero go on a marathon fight and this one didn't disappoint.

I'll never forget being a wee lad who had gotten the VHS and watching this scene late at night. It was fucking terrifying as a kid, the first time. Rewatching recently brought back major flashbacks.
Have you not been looking at the threads about MCU Spider-Man lately?
It's a complete fucking meltdown here.
Tom plays Peter very well, but I don't like how the MCU handles his stories.
I hate how he's shackled to Tony.
Yep
I wouldn't really mind that so much if they actually did something with it. All Tony really did was give him a suit, and now Peter's life revolves around him.
Spectacular had Ben show up when Peter was fighting the symbiote off. Outside of that he was mentioned in a few passing scenes.
I mean I like him, but have completely reserved that opinion on here because it's not like any positive opinion of him will ever be heard.
It lasted 6 years and years of guilt until Antman came back. And if he didnt they would not have patched things up.
They didnt kissed and made up over ighy and it was likely Cap did time after he killed Thanos and had to give up being a hero.
So no it wasnt everything was fine.
I do, but most of the people here I've talked to that don't either didn't watch the first movie or are lying about it.
I think Spider-Man is too popular for his own good
The MCU has done a good job of incorporating that character into that universe
But having watched the first two Raimi movies again I understand why those movies are so revered. Out of the all comic book movies, it's the most comic-esque with its aesthetic with the perfect suit, the perfect Uncle Ben, and it's Peter-centric
Stuff that the MCU had slim to no chance of replicating
So I understand why Spideyfags prefer that movie, although they should really stop being so goddamn entitled about it
i hate him 3000
That makes me happy. The more iterations that acknowledge uncle Ben the better. Seriously, it takes like 20 minutes tops and each series would be all the better for it. It's seriously a no-brainer.
>>middle aged men butthurt about Tony Stark ripping them off
OHH NOOO! Is that his motive?????????? HOLY FUCKING SHIT MARVEL WANTS TO BE DC AND COPY HOW DC DEEPTHROATS BATMAN!
No user, the X-men are fucking ruined. They're gonna be apart of the avengers. the X-Avengers. Professor X was inspired by Captain America! Magneto will be an evil mutant that was once working for Loki! Get ready to scream in anger!!!
Is HiTop the ultimate youtube kino?
>and why couldn't Mysterio be a stage performer?!
because that's lame as fuck?
Spider-Man 2 was garbage
MarvelStudio wanted to do something different and has moved away from classicism. We had 5 movies with a classic spider-man and it is understandable that Disney has taken an "Ultimate" approach, (changing him a bit), with this new version of the character. Considering the other Spiderman movies are not even so old so the whole attempt makes perfect sense. Amazing also has also a lot of fans, despite the second film.
Hope this Spider-man stays as long as possible
Homecoming was not a perfect film, but the character has potential and and I like to read all these false fans pretend to be angry.
Most of them don't care for Spider-man at all.
Didn't he technically fail his test to join because he didn't want beat Hulk's ass since all Hulk wants to do is be alone?
Spectacular Spider-man had it's Uncle Ben Got Shot episode pretty late on.
It's actually a good example how you can switch up the way you present the origin without just ignoring it.
Stop reminding me of better Spider-man adaptations please, it hurts.
I love him. Actually. By far my fav Spidey ever if I’m staying honest.
Yeah.
Pretty much. Everyone loves him
>changing him a bit
They've done more than change him a bit user. They've completely shifted the values and themes he and his story represents and made a whole new creation with only the aesthetic resemblance of Spider-man.
Which raises the question of; why didn't they just use another teen hero that actually told the story they wanted to tell.
People say we needed something new, but apparently not to new.
I want to like him. I really do. If he was in a standalone universe I'd like him more. He seems like the perfect fit for a young nerd who gets powers and over time gets better and better. Thats how it was for comics spidey. It's through the span of a storyline that we see Peter adapt to being a superhero, through all the villians he fights, upgrades his suit and webshooters periodically as he overcomes more danger, etc.
MCU spidey just shortcuts that by making tony or shield make his suits. He's just handed a suit that has everything he could possibly need. Theres just no storyarc with him.
I disagree with everything you say, but whatever , It matter not. This is Spider-man now like Adam West was Batman in 1960.
Stop before Sins Past and it's good. Book of Ezekiel is good as an ending arc anyway.
Certainly true but I would say that Yea Forums is less terrible in that regard compared to other boards.
You need some better bait my guy

This.
>Make his entire character revolve around Iron Man

The sad thing it's actually true
During school in Homecoming, Ned pulls out a Sidious toy infront of Peter at the lockers.
If you think about it with MJ, Irish people are a minority and have been oppressed in the past (plus only 2 percent of the population are redheads) so if you think about it, changing MJ kinda sucks. The other black girl was hot though.
Agreed, and I'm not even Irish or a redhead. Anytime you tell anyone who defends the MJ being black about the Irish or redheads struggles they put their hands over their ears and screech.
There's a red purge going on
I do. I even like Homecoming ad the change up with having Stark be an Uncle Ben type character, which only works for the sole single purpose of the MCU, but I like it a lot.
I think after Endgame it's time to tune his presence down and have Spidey's villains and stories now be less connected to Stark's legacy, though. Have Tony's presence just exist quietly, in his tech or in photos on the wall.
>Seriously, they just don't want anything new or original to happen
Or that new or original was enjoyable to some people. But i will be reading comics while you "nerds" discuss how comics like you have read anything.
yeah asm2 had the best spiderman CGI to date too
And this is why we will never have anything good from comics in the movies because normalfags like this guy think everything is lame.
>I like to read all these false fans pretend to be angry
>false fans
Only true spiderman fans have actually read comics.
>mcu spiderman isnt like spiderman 2!!!!
WOW he's so fucking observant! It's almost like its a different iteration of spiderman in a different universe!!!
>This is Spider-man now like Adam West was Batman in 1960
At least i can say that i do like Adam West as batman.
I think with EVERY Spider-Man movie we've proven time and again that they're great casual filters
Yeah but nobody likes irish people.
You could say the same about black people.
Yup
>I like to read all these false fans pretend to be angry.
You know it's possible to express your liking of MCU Spidey without being a prick.
I legit love MCU Spidey. Come at me y’BITCHES
MCU Peter never struggles
Nigerians like the Irish
This is why no respects MCU Spider-Man fans. Raimi fanboys are annoying pricks as well but they establish their dominace everytime they enter the room.
MCU Spidey is the most "gosh gee golly" of all of the movie Spidermen though.
I hated nearly everything about Homecoming but I unironically thought MJ was a massive improvement from any other iteration and one of the only characters worth giving half a shit about aside from Vulture.
I really don't understand it though. They turn on every other incarnation any chance they get with insults like "nostalgia-goggles" and so on but when anyone points out flaws in Homecoming it's "y-y-you just hate it because it's new reeee" and wonder why people find them insufferable. They speak like fucking marketers.
Honestly the best live action Spidey so far. People in general hate things that are different, though.
Agreed, remember the shit into the spider-verse was recieving from MCU spidey fans?
Some random person was like "Wow this looks fun!"
In comes the spidey cunt "What you think your shitty cartoon will better than Homecoming?"
"No i didn't say anything I just said it looks fun..."
"KYS Raimi cartoon loving manchild!"
Is there somewhere between the virgin and the chad? I don't hate or love Raimi's Spidey. I just think he's the middle best one.
What was that?
Yet again, casuals throwing in their two cents. You can be different, but not to the point where it completely fucks with the core elements of the character. Otherwise there's no point!
The in between is Normie followed by Brad so either one of those.
Do you think Spiderverse is a live action Spidey film, or can you just not read
I literally have the Marvel comics logo tattooed to my chest, not everyone who disagrees with you is just a casual.
You just said that we hated everything that's different.
>Has tattoo
lol gtfo ya turbo autist and go remove dat shit
I've got three, die still mad about it.
I'm sorry but how does you having a retarded ass tattoo make me the casual here?
I ain't mad just find it funny that you decided to tattoo your body. Biggest form of self-hate
Watch this video. It pretty much sums up why we don't like the MCU Spidey.

>I don't remember him being mentioned in Spectacular Spider-Man
He was part of one of the best scenes in Spectacular and constantly came up when Peter was talking to May.
The symbiote arc is where they told his full origin, as Ben and Venom fought for Peter's soul.
Cry more, really its very effective
Yeah but there's a difference between wanting to join a super team for the paycheck and wanting to join because they're your friends.
Classic Peter was an independent young man with a chip on his shoulder looking to get paid.
MCU Peter needs to be an Avenger for reasons of ego. Homecoming is all about him maturing and putting his ego in check to protect the common people rather than being a globetrotting super agent, but they do away with that with his next appearance.
Nobodies crying user. seek help
I like all the spideys, but my faggotry aside I don't think you'll find anything other than dissenting opinions because that's how this works.
so you're a marvel fan. but are you a comics fan? a spiderman fan? have you actually read the foundations of the character and followed the story? bc whats in tv rn aint it
Right, you're just posting for the riveting conversation and not because you're triggered.
I've been reading comics using 94 but sure m8 keep assuming and desperately trying to find any excuse to dismiss me so you can ignore that people just like different things.
Did someone press he soft spot in your skull as a kid? People here generally dislike that he's practically glued to iron man's crotch rather than his own character.
it just sucks so hard. but these fucks have allied themselves to this shit ass movie company. i have no idea how tbese kids ended up so shallow
user chill, your acting like a little bitch.
not what i meant. thought you said the opposite.
I'm sorry that you're so wound up that you can't stop yourself.
Only good thing that came from it is milf aunt may
Different user, but you're getting all worked because they made fun of you and your tattoo's.
I mean if you think single sentance dismissive replies is "worked up" then you must be absolutely hysterical.
Okay user shows us all your tattoo's.
No thanks, stay mad.
user, I don't they're angry
Just ignore the tattoo fag user
Okay so all I see is MCU fans getting angry. Raimi and Spider-Verse fans have completely donimated the thread.
I wag my finger at all of you movie fags really
He's no Spidey.
I think he's the best movie Spidey, but yeah, you can't discuss it here with all the autists and contrarians
I grew up with the Original 3 and even when I was a kid I really only liked 2 and I guess 3? I remember skipping around on the dvd for the good parts. As for the MCU he's okay. He's not really "comic accurate" as most people say but he has the character of classic 60-70s comics with a modern take but do I like him? Meh. I have Into the Spider-Verse Miles who has a character now and has character in the universe he lives in. But as for the "best" movie Spider-Man. If I had to pick I guess Toby? But that's really only because of the Juggernaut that was Spider-Man 2. If only 1 and 3 where a thing somehow I guess MCU Peter does the job.
tl;dr MCU Spidey is ok.
This. Babby brain is thinking Ditkovitch is an asshole but big brain is knowing he was actually a pretty based landlord that let Peter be months late on his rent SEVERAL times and notices enough to tell when Peter is acting differently.
Most landlords don't even know who the fuck you are, they just know your name, your unit, and how much you owe.
Only a secondary would get a comics related tattoo, let alone the logo of a corporation that has consistently fucked up every other day for the past two decades.
What run?? What Spidey is this??
Not him but
You're mad, cuck. Replying to someone who couldn't give a shit lol
Do you have zero self-awareness?
Raimifags are a thousand times more combative and million times more persistent
Seems like 90% of Yea Forums and Yea Forums are angry Raimifags who are mad it's not 2002 and conveniently forget about Spider-Man 3
Looks a bit kitson-wright ish
Yes. Plenty do.
J. Michael Straczynski's run.
Look up the reading order on the internet and for heaven's sake, stop before Sins Past, you'll be happier if you do. Just ignore that whole arc if you have to. Ignore One More Day too if you'll continue reading past SP.
I don't know i have few black friends.
>conveniently forget about Spider-Man 3
Which you really can't blame on Raimi.
Eh
There's a lot of stuff that's clearly Sony's fault but there's also a lot of stuff he should have fixed
Like he never fixed the crybaby that was Peter Parker
PIZZA TIME!!!
Evil black spiderman is the best
>Muh contrarians
He's been serviceable/snooze the past three times I've seen him. He could improve, but I hate kid actors.
That's not proof. You could bet money that every MCU character bar Hawkeye likes Star Wars.
He sucks. He lacks any of the bitter, borderline incel rage and cockiness that early Pete had. Even Tobey's version was less of a "uwu adorkable" pussy.
I know the suit was really just a palette swapped version of the regular suit but by god does it look good in action.

Yuri really did blow it out of the water. He did way better than I'd ever think he would. True image in general. Sad that game devs were able to craft a better cinematic Spidey than Feige.
ASM has its own little inaccuracies for certain but high school Peter was a lot closer to the outcast cunt in ASM than the golly gosh Kamala Khan of Homecoming
He's a faggot with no agency aka Ironman's fuckboi, which I guess attracts the pedo demographic for the MCU.
he's a nigger now isn't he?
>Tobey McGuire was a nerd, but he was and looked too old
He was in his 20's by Spiderman 2.
No. I don't like Spiderman to have that many gadgets and shit. I get that they want Spiderman to be the new Ironman (literally and figuratively) but I feel like that ruins the idea of Spiderman. Why not just give Thor a bunch of gadgets? Might as well deck out everyone
The worst part is that the MCU is so big and so influential that this'll be Spiderman going forward.
Just like with Star Lord, just like with Hulk, just like with Iron Man.
i thought he was okay in CW & IW but the supporting cast in his own movie sucks.
spiderverse is the best spiderman movie.
>as Ben and Venom fought for Peter's soul.
That's awesome.
Andrew Garfield is the fucking worst.
If the next time we saw him after Civil War was in IW when he catches Black Dwarf's hammer he would literally be perfect.
Peter Parker is probably one of my least favorite Marvel characters in general. There's nothing interesting about a whitebread "nerd" like him.
Yeah but Karen is cute
I'm gonna be real here... I'm 100% fine with Tony being such an important figure in Pete's life because I just know they're going to pay it all off when Norman eventually gets his own Iron Patriot armor, and they play up how he's a dark mirror to Tony and have this really screw with Peter. It'll be like poetry, so that they rhyme.
Tombstone is that strong?
Karen is gone in FFH, no AI in the new suit
Exactly.
Not to mention Ben was voiced by ED FUCKING ASNER.

Spectacular is the all time great for me. Like a melding of the Raimi movies and the 1994 Semper show.
Faggot, that's good Iron Man Jr. should learn some self reliance.
He literally defeats Vulture, Ebony Maw, and fights Thanos without Karen's help. What's the harm in him having someone to talk to? She's just an excuse to justify him talking to himself all the time.
I always had reservations about the show because of the style. Worth a watch?

>Holland wants to do the Wolverine body swap
Picturing Zenyatta getting creeped on by Tom Holland being dubbed by whatever forty year-old man they get to play Wolverine is my new happy place
Tombstone is a fucking tank. Even in the 1994 show he was capable of standing up to Spider-Man.
