What did Marvel mean by this?
What did Marvel mean by this?
They Mean "if you're a bad enough dude to lift up this big funky hammer, you can get all the radical powers of a god!".
The magic of the hammer, among other things, enjoys semantics and being read whichever way it rests. It's weird that way.
It's better to make a single all-encompassing change instead of switching it back and forth each time a different gender person picks it up.
Do you think the gods have the time for that? That's grunt work, if they were to do it. Interns don't usually have that kind of power.
Which part is unclear?
Wasn't it already retconned to they before this all started?
It means if a shit-tier writer wants to virtue signal, then whoever holds the hammer steals the name and glory from an existing character, and then he shits on the original character until they're ruined.
Did that hammer just assume my pronouns?
I dunno what did they mean when they did this?
It's doing the literal opposite.
Also, get better jokes.
Last thread not get enough replies, faggot?
>Imagine trowing a tantrum beause your stupid language doens't have a gender-neutral pronoun
Such is the way of the boomerican
It's a mystery
HUMANKIND
X-PEOPLE
>man
and
>men
is sexist and exclusionary, obvi
I envy anglos
I'm a slav, and every word in my language has to either be male or female. Every verb implies the gender of the person performing it
Imagine calling a frying pan a "she" and a plate a "he".
At least I say that "she stroked my dick" when I jerk off, since "hand" is apparently female.
That ig you are worthy you can have the same powers as Thor, i think it is pretty clear.
But then again, you are a retard.
Same thing happens in spanish and I still don't understand the rule which assigns the genders to objects. Why does a chai becomes she or a book becomes him.
I remember asking that shit to my spanish teacher in high school and no one was able to answer my question.
it's entirely arbitrary, as far as I know.
In Polish, the only rule for figuring it out is "if the word ends in -a, then it's probably feminine", but there are obviously some exceptions, mostly in loanwords
>"if the word ends in -a, then it's probably feminine", but there are obviously some exceptions
If "x" ends with "y" then it becomes "z", excepts when it doesn't
Nah, as you say, completely arbitrary
It's a magic hammer, the inscription can change and isn't always there
but it's stupid that it has to be changed at all. Odin doesn't necessarily hold the same values the writer does, and they shouldn't alter his words to reflect that.
>Odin doesn't necessarily hold the same values the writer does
This is correct, however, remember that comics are written by a bunch of different writters. Sometimes Odin is a misogynist asshole, others, for some reason, he has the same social views than the average 21 century person.
>except when it doesn't
what I mean is, 99% of the time this will be true.
But I don't think what i said contradicts - it IS absolutely arbitrary, and one of the ways for you to FIGURE OUT WHAT ARBITRARY CHOICE HAS BEEN MADE is to check for the 'a'.
You just gotta feel the gender of the spirit that inhabits the objects, maaan.
There's must be a rule because everyone knows it instinctively...
>everyone knows it instinctively...
Not really.
Eh it makes sense since the hammer has gone to both genders throughout the years. It's not like using "they" to cover this is anything new since it's basic English grammar.
Reminds me of Magic the Gathering. When referring to the player they went with "he or she" for a brief while and then went back to "they" because it just made more sense and saved text space.
my theory is that when Odin banished Thor for being a fucking idiot, he deliberately wrote the enchantment to read "he who holds the hammer" expecting that Thor would sort himself out and then reclaim his power.
instead of anyone who was deemed worthy being able to pick up the hammer, only Thor could do it once he regained his worthiness.
Not to mention the enchantment was made with the intention that Thor was going to become worthy of the hammer again. When Bill picked the hammer it was even a surprised for Odin that someone else other than his son was able to pick the hammer up.
Isnt "they" plural? Isnt it suppose to denote two or more individuals?
For example, if you were asked what you think about a couple, saying 'they' look good together is appropriate.
Why are retards obsessed with putting political correct idioms? They are ruining both the english and spanish language, worst of all is that its all done in a vapid attempt to look like the most forward thinking and tolerant individual in the room.
Man, Rogue was so awesome back then. Why did they ruin her.
You are apparently smart enough to use words like "vapid" but you don't know about the singular "they?" Who is the actual retard here? You don't even know how to speak English but you are complaining about other people "ruining" the language, which is absurd in itself.
You could interpret it as the words changing and appearing as any language so the user can understand it because magic.
Basic rule
-If it ends with A, it's female.
-If it ends with I, O, or U it's male
-E is neutral
-If the word ends with a consonant the last vowel applies the respective rule
That's the best I can help you with
Thor can be a transgirl
I don't read marvel that much but I remember seeing the female thor design and thinking "whoa, she looks cool, gonna read later" and shit m8's, I was soooo dissapointed. Why can't they hire decent writters. Is not like there wasn't a bunch of talented writters everywhere that would work for pennies.
