Will they still edit the heathen monkey scene?

>"Luckily, Warner Archive Collection's long-anticipated Blu-ray package preserves Jonny Quest perfectly: not only is this visually ambitious series granted a stunning new 2K restoration, but it's finally presented in its original uncut format, unlike Warner Bros.' 2004 DVD collection."
Apparently we will get it

Awesome

>Heathen Monkeys are back

Oh shit if they that put THAT back in it'll be fun to see people sperg out...

Awesome - one of my favorite series growing up and a lot of the better episodes still hold up really well.

What is the best episode of the series and why is it "The Invisible Monster"?

Never saw it. Does the show withstand the test of time?

Yes

I haven't seen the series in a while what is the heathen monkey scene?

The Quest group get taken captive by a group of jungle pygmies. Race covers himself in purple dye and puts on a snorkel mask to pretend to be their god and goes marching into the village shouting "Say hello to your water god, you heathen monkeys!" The pygmies scream in terror and flea.

Less talked about is the other edit made to the old DVD set. In the Yeti episode. A bunch of Sherpas are at the top of a staircase, shooting at Jonny whose at the bottom. Jonny causes them to trip and they come rolling down the stairs, screaming in Asian gibberish all the way down. Jonny shouts, "Uh oh, here comes the Oriental Express!" as he dives out of their way.

No one asked if the Oriental Express line would be restored for the blu rays, but I assume if the Heathen Monkeys line is back in, that one will be, too.

>Jonny shouts, "Uh oh, here comes the Oriental Express!" as he dives out of their way.
That's funny because I remember a long time ago when Jonny Quest was on Boomerang they included that line.

>Uh oh, here comes the Oriental Express!
It really was a different time.

The Heathen Monkeys line was also on the Boomerang broadcasts. It was only removed for the DVD set for some reason.

I only found out about that line because they mentioned it in one of the Venture Bros. commentaries.

I watched the Sargasso Sea episode because the cruise liner I was on for some reason only had a looped repeat of a teb year old Boomerang broadcast and I was genuinely surprised at how engaging it was. It was an actual goddamn action cartoon, when my only previous exposure to Hannah Barbera was a dozen Scooby Doo and Flinstones knock-offs.

Basically any HB show which Alex Toth or Steve Gerber had a hand in is worth a watch.

>look this up
>"oh hey popeye volume 2 is out as well"

i'm sure international countries were fine with those 2 scenes

This show much like most HB trash hasn't aged very well and can be a choir to sit through. I'll buy it but if it's more than $15, you're being ripped off. Paid $20 for the first 2 seasons of Scooby-Doo on dvd and boy is it unfunny, badly animated, and nothing but bland pne-note characters. What is it about HB cartoons that are so utterly garbage? Are there any that are genuinely funny or entertaining that doesn't condescend it's mature audience? I heard good things about old Pink Panther but i'm skeptical of that too.

based
they finally realized that kids weren't the ones buying this

Well no kid wants to watch a show that's over 50 years old, especially ones with bad animation.

>can be a choir to sit through
>a choir

Wish DC would figure this out and stop chickening out of reprinting Shazam/Plasticman/Spirit because it has some racist stuff in it
(not sure if they still have the reprint rights to Spirit though)

We get it. You're good at pointing out basic typos.

>basic
>an entirely different word that doesn't even sound the same

That's why it's being typed and not said out loud, thus being a typo. Your insecurities are showing.

It will be cool to see the return of Dr Negative.

>This show much like most HB trash hasn't aged very well
I agree, but its premise is good and could generate a great remake series, especially if they aim it to an older audience.

I’d rather to watch something made this century, so no I didn’t now it wasn’t coming out, and I do not care.

No one will ‘sperg’ out becuase literally no one cares.

What's with this one guy?
