Can we discuss Captain N and whether or not it's a franchise worth reviving?
I never saw the original show as it was airing but despite the liberties it took with its Nintendo IPs at the time it still managed to remain as cherished nostalgia for me and a lot of other people. Now that reboots and re-imaginings of old shows are currently on the rise (whether successfully or not is a different debate), do you think that there should be a push for Captain N to make a comeback? The trailers they release for Smash Bros. has gotten a lot of people wishing for a tv show featuring those characters interacting in a similar way and I think this is the way to do it.
Some talking points for people knowledgeable about these sorts of things: Can an American animation company greenlight this project and just how much permission if any would they require from the Japanese company? Does using 3rd party IPs like Simon Belmont and Mega Man require less work or more for a television show? If the animatic posted above didn't agree with you, how would you pitch a new Captain N cartoon?
I'd really like to see how many people on Yea Forums have thoughts on Captain N as a whole, or just how many have actually watched it at all.
>All the Zeldas planning together Cute. It'd be funny if there was a bunch of different Link but they just yelled "HYYAAA" at each other.

This was far better than initially thought it would, I recall seeing fanart years ago and not thinking anything of it, but seeing it in action was great
And I would genuinely love to see Nintendo at least consider the idea again, especially with them jerking off Smash Bros and letting it do almost anything these days
Captain N was a product of its day. Reviving it would just be condemning it to becoming more melodramatic shipping bullshit for social lepers. Plus I imagine Captain N would be more of a licensing nightmare today than it was yesterday.

Looks like horribly generic, tastelessly modern, calarts, female empowerment bullshit. Needs way more creativity, especially if youre going to dig up Captain fucking N of all things. No thanks/10.

In the right hands it could be phenomenal, just have to keep it away from major networks like Disney and CN.
As for the licensing, while there would be some glaring omissions from some big name cameos, I feel like Nintendo still has plenty of 1st Party characters to put in, both current and obscure. Some indie developers would probably be down for cameos as well.
If they were to play their cards right (like in the video) then it would be amazing. The problem now is actually getting it to happen, is there any way that the pitch animatic could become a full show? Is the only option just hoping for the best?

>capeshit is beloved worldwide still >including tokusatsu and Jap spins on western formulas >one of nintendo's biggest sleeper hit formulas has been revving forgotten titles of yesteryear (Kid Icarus, people still want another Punch-Out, there will never be another Mother but their fans still haven't gotten the memo) >make entire game about washed-up superhero that helps other minor nintendo characters and makes their lives better >never touch him ever again Fuck Captain N, Captain Rainbow needs a comeback.
>Can we discuss Captain N and whether or not it's a franchise worth reviving?
It's not. It was goofy crap back then, and it will be now. Just come up with something new, you stupid fucks. It's bad enough this hits all the generic notes of modern calarts garbage. Shit, take inspiration from Captain N if you want, but stop reviving shit and giving in to this mindless and soulless culture of constant reboots and reimaingings. Be creative for once in your stupid talentless lives and come up with your own shit.

>It's bad enough this hits all the generic notes of modern calarts garbage. >no bean mouth >eye's aren't perfect circles >limbs aren't noodles >sharp corners Fuck people like you for devaluing the term "Cal arts" into "Art style I don't like".

>fucking DOOM at the end They'd never be able to make it work unless they got Doomguy in smash, but MAN would that be cool.

The main issue that these days the sheer challenge to get all these franchises and IPs would be incredibly tough.
Plus, nowadays they are even more protective, so there would be countless of regulations and revisions.
Nintendo gave Disney shit on Wreck it Ralph about the way Bowser drank his coffee. The sheer idea they'd allow something like Captain N again'd be a development nightmare.

>Thing from the 80s or 90s BUT NOW IT'S A TOUGH GIRL!! Looks really cool aside from that. It's such a cliche, we're gonna look back on stuff like this as the "Thing from the 50s/60s, but with ATTITUDE!!" trend of the 90s.

THE VIRGIN CAPTAIN N COMPLAINER >autistic >"muh accuracy" >Shill of corporations
THE CHAD CAPTAIN N APPRECIATOR >highly intelligent >enjoys the different views and characterizations >supports artistic liberty
Its not worth reviving. The concept is a dead concept by now and people tend more to have te original characters in a series, see castlevania and the upcomin super mario movie. And no, the american company cant green light it, since they dont own the rights to any nintendo character. They need at least the mother company to agree they can use the ips. The non ips is not so easy if they dont have an interest in advertisment. MegaMan could be granted but with simon belmont, it wont work because of the castlevania series.

I think electing Trump is much worse than wearing Captain N clothes.

This They would try to make it like Steven universe and Rick&Morty season 3. But in fact it needs to be Rick&Morty season 1 and Adventure time season 5 & 6

You are correct, the demo reel looks like a cal-arts student work. They crossed checkmarks after checkmarks of there "Cal-Arts that need to be in it".
