Andy Serkis Eyed For The Penguin In Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN
I can see it.
Penguin is never going to be an obese manlet again, is he?
I wanted Paul Giamatti.
Danny Devito
Jonah Hill would actually be a great Penguin. If you've ever seen him in War Dogs, he plays a fat slimy bastard very well
He'd never do it, though.
Why not just get an actual penguin for the role?
Isn't Danny way too old for action movies? He almost died in Mexico during an interview about Dumbo because he tripped and fell flat on his ass and the assholes thought he was just trying to be funny.
He's not playing THE Penguin, he's doing mocap for A penguin.
I hope all the recent casting rumors come true.
Would be kino.
I want Michael Keaton as Alfred
That's stunt casting. Not happening.
Dunno about all else, but the casting isn't inspiring a lot of confidence.
Nicolus Hoult is rumored to have a role.
y?
not even ironically
I thought he lost out on Batman to Battinson. Did he get another role as a consolation prize?
He was up for Batman but lost it to Pattinson.
>K I N O
If Blacked Panther is gonna waste him, might as well have the Batman put him to good use.
Nothing about Serkis reminds me of Penguin, nothing about Pattinson reminds me of Batman.
That's who I thought of first, too.
Serkis would be better as Clayface.
those are all pretty good but not serkis and mcavoy really needs to just fuck off
oh god, please don't let him be dick
Different role now.
Same thing happened with Cillian Murphy
>both Marvel and DC get Andy Serkis to play a regular human character instead of big mocapped monsters
What the fuck? And let's not pretend they would ever do sound Klaw. BP is never going to be allowed to have anything silly or fun since it has to be the super serious black representation series.
>Kevin Bacon as Gordon
Too many villains, it's shit
It's a whodonit
So you're just going to pretend the holographic display on the inside of their lower lips never happened? That was silly.
Also, Firefly is in it too.
Isn't J. K. Simmons already Gordon? He can still play him even if it's set in an earlier time; Gordon doesn't age.
Also, who's that for Selina?
So it's going to be a... dumpster fire?
Its' a whodonit. You need a lot of villains for that
The chick from The Mummy.
I made a fire pun, you should acknowledge the hilarity of it in relation to Firefly.
It's a joke.
However interesting, I sorta hope it doesn't shit the bed.
But I'm also tired of capeshit so whatever.
B-but it's BATMAN
How can you be tired of BATMAN?
>Isn't J. K. Simmons already Gordon? He can still play him even if it's set in an earlier time; Gordon doesn't age.
This is confirmed to be a reboot/standalone, not young Batfleck
Though too bad about losing Simmons and Irons, the latter would work even better as Aflred with someone younger like Pattinson
>reboot/standalone
So do they still have a "cinematic universe" or not?
Fuck I hope he gets it
The argument of a retard. Winter Soldier is one of the best Superhero movies and that had 5 villians
>Bucky
>Robert Redford
>cameo from hologram man
>Rumlow
Who's the 5th?
Oh right, French mercenary guy.
Sequels, and a loose wider continuity at best, but don't expect any team-ups for a long time
I feel like Gadot and Momoa are only still around because they can't be recast after their films were such hits
There's also Robbie and the rest of the SS cast coming back except Smith. Looking at the rest of the actors it's a shitshow. Affleck is a liability and Reeves was talking about a young Batman even when WB was saying Ben was still Batman, Cavill thinks he's worth more money even though he has no clout and Miller is demanding way to much control. They're better off without the lot of them. It's Ray Fisher that I actually feel bad for
I'm always down for any role where he's an intelligent scumbag.
>that catwoman
YES
YESSSSS
>McAvoy as Riddler
jesus christ, just fucking do it already. I wish Nolan hadn't gone full retard for TDKR and given us that shitty ninja story once again. Riddler would have been perfect for TDKR because Nolan could most definitely pull off a Batman detective movie. Riddler being one of the main villains could be interesting as fuck since it would force Batman to solve problems with his goddamn head for once
>Batman
>being a detective
>ever
He's le ebin brooding man who punches hard and growls, fuck detective work.
>Reeves was talking about a young Batman even when WB was saying Ben was still Batman
to be honest, I still don't see a reason why it can't be a prequel. For all we know, Reeves and everyone else could be lying and give us Affleck Bats at the beginning and end of the movie and it would totally be fine
>have present Batman in the team up movies and past Batman in his single movies
>tfw people will never have to wonder why he didn't call up one of the other heroes to solve his problems
I know it's hard to say whether WB is that smart because they're probably not but it would be a genious move if you ask me
Rinko as Cass
And screw Harley's flip piglet casting for cass.
I honestly blame mainstream audiences for being too fucking dumb to enjoy movies that don't have tons of sfx and action. Just look at how many retards praise Thor Ragnarok even though it's literally the worst MCU movie. You just can't offer a compelling take on a character without resorting to the mainstream Hollywood formula in some ways. To be fair though, WW, Aquaman, and Shazam solved these problems perfectly in my eyes so there's still plenty of hope left
I actually like Ragnarok though. It was funny.
I don't have anything against people having a bad taste in humour because if it makes you laugh, hey, it works, fuck it. I have something against Disney drones pretending like it's one of the best MCU movies when it's an actual disgrace to the entire franchise and a thousand times worse than the actual good movies. Hell, Thor 1 seemed like a mix between an epic and a grounded small-town comfy movie, they should have just expanded on that instead of going all out on a more simplistic GotG formula
I actually think The Dark World is the best Thor movie but literally no one will ever agree with me.
the story was pretty generic which was very odd for most fans of the franchise since it was the first movie where it was really obvious (Avengers was the real first one). It had its moments and really expanded on the characters in my eyes. True shame Ragnarok fucked it all up
>Manlet Harvey Dent
It would need some serious camera work
I want Joe Lo Truglio as Penguin.
Nicholus Hoult or James McAvoy as The Riddler
Aubrey Plaza as Catwoman
Still think David Tennant could pull off Riddler well.
Extremely underrated comment right here
they said the same thing about keaton
Once again DC is desperate to pick up Based Marvel's scraps
After big fat liar I can really see that
Isn't Jonah /fit/ now?
He's too good for DC
>Isn't J. K. Simmons already Gordon?
He jumped ship like Fishburne
user, I...
Yet enough case of Hollywood taking away roles from penguin actors
and none of them have character development
>For all we know, Reeves and everyone else could be lying and give us Affleck Bats at the beginning and end of the movie
Don't be delusional.
Still too good for DC
Being delusional is what they do best
Or Gorilla Grodd in a Flash movie
wah wah wah wah wah
I'm tired of everything
Isnt she kinda old?
He was the best part of that movie
I'd be fine with that.
Just watch Shoot Em Up and imagine him in a tophat the whole movie.
Closest you'll get.
Alright you fucks, listen up.
I'd actually make Batman a little shorter, say between Micheal Keaton and George Clooney's height. The bigger his villains seem in comparison to Batman, the more fantastical and comic-like it appears to the audience.
Flip some notions around. What if Penguin was taller than Bruce? Ignatius Oglivy, New52's Emperor Penguin, is 6'3''. Bruce canonically clocks in at 6'2''.
Bruce Wayne's height and weight can fluctuate - The difference between Keaton and Affleck is amazing, and it can easily be argued that both actors were incorrect castings for a Batman; despite both demonstrating skilled performances that knocked the material they were given right out of the park.
Know what made Game of Thrones so appealing and 'gritty', so plausible and immersive? Despite the themes of magic and fantasy creatures? The sheer realism of it- here we had actual people acting roles, not aesthetic'd-up vapid freakjobs. Men acted their role with male pattern baldness or untrained torsos. Women were allowed to be short, or wrinkled, or plain/homely.
What made Keaton's role work so well was that he legitimately seemed like another person, an entity that seemed unhuman, when he put on the Batsuit. Let me remind you readers that WB received petitions and stacks of letters begging them to recast, since Keaton was known for comedy, not the seriousness that Batman fans expected of the Dark Knight Detective since the emergence of Frank Miller and the more determined personality Gotham's Greatest Detective had after Batman '66.
Does Batman need to be tall? Fuck no. He doesn't need to be unbelievably below average in height, but he certainly doesn't need to be this tree-trunk of a man.
Does Penguin need to be small? Scroo dat nois. Oswald can be taller than Bruce - ..however, Cobblepot *should* be a crude womanizer, preferrably overweight - but the weight is arbitrary. 2008's cartoon The Batman had Penguin a very competent hand to hand combatant.
Actually, I'd make *me* Batman but hey what do I know
