>Salma Hayek ("The Hummingbird Project") has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' THE ETERNALS in an undisclosed role. Richard Madden ("The Bodyguard") stars as Ikaris, an immortal warrior fueled by cosmic energy, and the cast also includes Angelina Jolie ("Maleficent"), Kumail Nanjiani ("The Big Sick") and Ma Dong-Seok ("Train to Busan") in undisclosed roles. Keanu Reeves ("John Wick") has also been approached.
>Directed by Chloe Zao ("The Rider"), the movie introduces the Eternals, a race of superhumans created by cosmic engineers known as The Celestials and once worshipped as gods by the human race, and their lifelong enemies, the monstrous, bloodthirsty Deviants. After a centuries-long stalemate, their war is revived in modern times, with the fate of the world hanging on the balance. The Eternals are led by Ikaris and his lover Sersi, a psychic explorer who relishes moving amongst humans.
I'd wager Hayek is Thena or Margo Damien. They did say they wanted a black or hispanic actress for the latter.
Blake Bailey
I really hope they don't waste Keanu.
Robert Turner
It's totally going to be based on the Neil Gaiman run; since it's all about reintroducing the Enternals anyway. Nanjiani is 100% probably playing Makkari and they'll really play up the comedy of him coming to terms with who he is.
Easton Perez
It's been said it's based mostly on Jack Kirby's original run.
I will be truly impressed if marvel studios can actually get me to give a shit about the eternals
Daniel Scott
So, Everett K. Ross in Black Panther or Peter Quill in GOTG?
Eli Taylor
>I'd wager Hayek is Thena I was thinking the same thing. I am guessing Jolie will be Sersi. Definitely Kirby's run takes precedence here, the intro scene of the first issue (the excavation) was rumored a long time ago to have been filmed or produced for a post-credits scene in Endgame or Captain Marvel, already scraped. I'm very partial to Knauf's run too, because it's more contemporary than every other that came out before and it has an interesting story.
It wasn't a lead, and the movie is emphasizing the "the Eternals were worshipped as the Olympians" thing.
It's probably just a nameless throwaway Eternal who still holds some amount of plot relevance.
Oliver Harris
Then who it might be? I'm assuming they're not gonna change much so Makkari's relationship with her will stay mostly intact, so it would have to be someone around Kumail Nanjani's age. I remember one actress name that was being tossed around who looked perfect for the role, wish I could find her again.
Jeremiah Perry
>not as Satanico Pandemonium I never thought that Tarantino could be less obvious with his foot fetish untill the whiskey drinking scene
Andrew Young
I need to know who they're getting for Thena and Kro. Their relationship was the thing I really loved about Kirby's run.
Is that bit of the left nip peaking out at 13 seconds?
Christopher Wilson
>Salma Hayek Is Jolie still in? looks like a replacement
Jacob Kelly
She is. Not sure if the article makes a mention of that, but she's still in; plus she has Maleficent 2, making it easier for Disney to keep her in the casting.
Julian Jackson
Hire 5 ugly skeletons and only one hot actress
Ian Wilson
I know its been said a million times before, but I can really see this being the MCU's first bomb.
>Salma Yay >Jolie Boo >Madden Meh >Nanjiani Yuk, gross
Its a pass for me right now. Not compelled to watch at the moment.
Joseph Allen
Yes! That's the one. I'll try not to forget again. Thank you.
Henry Williams
She is from Kingsmen
Wyatt Ramirez
Seriously is there ANY big name star that Based Marvel CAN'T get?
Caleb Gray
Someone believes that Sersei will use this suit In the MCU?
Daniel Thomas
Tom Cruise Brad Pitt Meryl Streep Tom Hanks Matt Damon George Clooney Leonardo DiCaprio Christian Bale Denzel Washington Matthew McConaughey Daniel Craig
Yes.
Landon Thomas
>Meryl Streep The woman is fucking 70 YEARS OLD. How is she still so goddamn SEXY?
>Tom Cruise >Brad Pitt >Meryl Streep >Tom Hanks >George Clooney >Leonardo DiCaprio >Christian Bale >Denzel Washington >Matthew McConaughey >Daniel Craig Only a matter of time
James Price
>Brad Pitt He was in Deadpool 2, he's definitely not above this.
Keanu's getting pushed for Moon Knight now. Eternals was just the conversation starter for him joining the MCU I believe.
Even Bill Sienkiewicz has been talking about how much he wants Keanu to play MK.
You don't ask someone who just pulled off John Wick to play some fantasy villain who will get offed undoubtedly.
You ask him to headline your own ""Mercenary with a personal code of ethics beating the shit out of and murdering criminals of New York"" AKA Moon Knight franchise.
Aiden Davis
Except Marvel isn't making a Moon Knight movie.
It's worth pointing out Keanu actually signed on to play Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel. He only dropped out because it would conflict with filming for John Wick 3 and that took priority.
Christian Walker
Looks like mommy kino is back on the menu boys
Justin Martinez
>Marvel's not making a Moon Knight movie.
That you know of.
Come on man, it's one of the most demanded properties they own, and they have to have a movie to compete with The Batman in like 2 years. Of course they're going to push THEIR "Batman" into active development.
And Keanu is honestly the best pick next to Brad Pitt.
Sebastian Thompson
You're basically speculating, none of this is actually happening.
Yes, I have no desire to do a 52-year old wrinkly woman. The guys that are gmilf lovers, more power to you for having such an exotic niche fetish, but the average male has little desire to have sex with a woman well past menopause for natural biological reasons. I would take any random 19-year old girl than Salma Hayek.
Isaiah Harris
Literally ANY movie Marvel makes would destroy Batman
And I mean literally any a fucking Groot movie would kill it
Oliver Rodriguez
MILF is 20s-30s. 50-60s can't be MILFs as they no longer can get pregnant. Assuming a woman has a daughter in her low 20s, then her offspring gives birth in the low 20s, would make Hayek solidly in the granny camp.
Gavin Green
>I would take any random 19-year old girl than Salma Hayek. How old are you?
Nicholas Parker
How many employed porn stars in their 50s?
Elijah Torres
>Yes, I have no desire to do a 52-year old wrinkly woman. They're the youngest-looking, fittest 50-year old women you'll ever fuck, though. I'd never guess any of them to be any older than 30-something and sure, tastes differ, but you'd be dumb to turn them down in my opinion.
Jonathan Myers
>MILF is 20s-30s. I should've kept reading just to save a post and reply to this, but no, this is "porn MILF". It basically goes like this:
MK in all likelihood is in the hands of Jeph Loeb and Marvel TV.
Nicholas Johnson
>Fiege has personally stated Moon Knight was one of properties they're thinking about pushing forward, iirc mentioning Shang Chi at the same time which is now in active development
>Moon Knight was almost in Iron Fist season 2 but was taken out and replaced with Typhoid Mary so they could presumably do more with the MK character.
> Dan Slott and Bill Sienkiewicz have both tweeted about Keanu Reeves being the perfect cast.
But it's reaching to assume that there's any talks of the MK movie happening? Speculation for sure. But it's thought out speculation and is pretty believable.
Ayden Perez
Lol he really believes a solo Batfilm won't bring home a lotta bacon
Drool on, marveltard, Batman's still a huge franchise and it's garaunteed to make big money
DC? >But it's reaching to assume that there's any talks of the MK movie happening? Yeah, because unlike the characters we already know about, there's not even a script, pitch, idea, nothing. There's more chances of Nova in the MCU (a character that's been constantly tossed around but never put on the screen) then Moon Knight. Feige talks a lot, he likely has a huge blackboard full of characters and charts, but until there's an actual pitch out there, the chances are very slim. I mean, even Doom has that Noah Hawley script, even if there's no other clue about its direction.
Samuel Stewart
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
I know it’s still Marvel, but it’s not part of the overrated MCU.
Post the script/plot leaks to shang chi then user. I went looking for them and didn't find anything besides possible Mandarin involvement with no corroboration from anyone working on it, and the casting list including Ludi Lin.
All we've known is that it's shang chi, and one possible cast member.
That's all the info for MK there is too. Moon Knight, possibly Keanu Reeves. It's just not in "active development" yet and there's no leaks.
Oliver Morgan
>That's all the info for MK there is too. No, it isn't. There's no "info" on Moon Knight because IT DOESN'T EXIST.
>Moon Knight, possibly Keanu Reeves. Never ever even implied by anyone with actual clout.
Ryan Sanchez
Okay so then I guess it was reaching for anyone to assume Shang Chi was getting made until officially Marvel announced they were doing it then? Even though we all were talking about it through speculation a good while beforehand?
Luke Hall
Shang chi literally only just got a director and still hasn't cast anyone and there is no script to be leaked. Literally the only thing Shang Chi has on MK is an official announcement and an appointed director.
Marvel comics writers/artists endorsing him means nothing?
Fiege literally said they have been wanting to do MK and have been waiting to do it. Infinity Saga is over, anyone major missing a solo movie is about to get one.
Kayden Sanders
they will never get Ryan Gosling
John Anderson
>Marvel comics writers/artists endorsing him means nothing?
It actually doesn't.
Jonathan White
There's a different between actual reports for entertainment trades about a script being developed, production crew assemble, locations scouted, etc. ahead of an official announcement, and literally no rumblings of anything from anyone other than two comic book creators with little to no pull.
I would like a Moon Knight movie and Keanu would be good in the role, but you're lying to yourself if you believe the "evidence" you have presented so far is in any way indictative of a movie being in any stage of development.
Cooper Rodriguez
Literally one of the main reasons I’m excited to see Far From Home.
Robert Cox
>Marvel comics writers/artists endorsing him means nothing? Marvel Editorial has been disconnected from Marvel Studios for years ever since they kicked out Bendis during GOTG 1. Both branches have nothing to do with each other and all Editorial does is release content that might be thematically linked to the movies (both in reprints and events) to get some synergy sales, not because they coordinate efforts. So no, some random writer who might or not written a character saying they would like a certain actor playing X doesn't mean said actor will actually have a chance to do it.
yeah, and yet we are getting a Black Widow movie, it was under wraps for a long fucking time too
Jose Sullivan
Not really though, that movie was getting prepared ever since 2018, but it had a script written years ago because it was originally planned to be produced during Phase 2. Only reason it didn't was because of Perlmutter, but it's been on the works for a long time. Why do you think they're doing it now even though its themes are more relevant to her backstory hinted during Ultron/CW?
David Bennett
man fuck this shit
Hudson Garcia
>Being this delusional Aquaman made more than Thor and Spiderman domestically.
Christian Mitchell
DC most likely. Perhaps Image too
Charles Powell
The first Thor and Spider-Man? Whoa what an accomplishment!
Adrian Green
Look it up, Mcudrone
Luis Reyes
With this body, of course it would work. I just do not believe in this cast because Hayek has many curves for Feige skeleton standards
