Am I supposed to know what this is or care why it failed?

Good lord what a faggoty post

If you dont know what it is, it only adds to how big of a failure it was

>lol a movie got fucked over by its producers and it lost money
>lolololol
I hate you.

It's summertime.

if it makes you feel better, i was hot for the fox

I just wish more people appreciated the movie for what it is, instead of fastforwarding to see more space pfox.

>fastforwarding to see more space fox.

strange comment. sounds like you do this from experience. ;-)

what IS there to appreciate other than space fox girl?

Was this a weird spinoff to Space Chimps?

Animation? Performance? Comedy?

It's basically Journey to the West but in space and with animals.

..... and Captain Kirk.

GATEKEEPERS

from looking at that post I can only find interest in the fox.

I tell you, if you're feeling unsure, just pirate the damn thing. Don't be afraid of maybe liking the movie.

>$40 Million Budget
How the fuck

Why is CGI so damn expensive? This is 10 million more than Ponyo! Its more than double what Spirited Away cost!

It actually had a $15,000,000 budget. It was made to be a straight-to-dvd movie, but after The Nut Job was a hit, the studio wanted to put it in theaters to make a quick buck.

However, they got cold feet, rightfully, and cancelled their plans. It only premieres in a few hundred theaters, and most of that was in Canada. Fault the movie for being bad, but its not like it had a wide release. The Nut Job 2 is still the biggest animated failure since it was in several thousand theaters.

I think people forget just how bad The Nut Job 2 bombed.

I think you mean THEIR biggest failure, not THE biggest failure. Nut Job 2 isn't even in the top 10 of 3000+ screen animated movie failures, and that says a lot about this industry.

It had 4000+ screens. Cartoon Brew literally said it held the record for screens-to-money failure.

Your delight is very hollow. It was an alright movie plagued with a lot of production problems. There was no real reason to celebrate failure.

Well holy shit, I had no idea it opened to 4000, that's fucking ludicrous for a movie like this. Still not the biggest loss of money for a movie, fucking NOTHING will ever top Mars Needs Moms I hope to god, but yeah that is by far the worst screen average of any movie, period. I don't even think there's anything within 10 million of it and it had to bring some dips int he red

this another monkey king story?

>Still not the biggest loss of money for a movie,
Animated movie, I mean. Animated. Thought I wrote that but I didn't, animated.

>Performance? Comedy?

Yeah, not as good as leering at space fox.

The Nut Job was a bit of a fluke. It is nice that it deluded others enough to try and aim for the big screen and break the disney stranglehold.

We'd be talking russian right now if Weinstein didn't decide to play grabby for thirty years.

Why revel in this particular movie's failure? Yeah sure it barely made any of it's money back but whatever, just a drop in the CGI kids movie pond.

I wonder how it would have done if it got to China. Although they aren't hip to stories about exiled royalty giving usurping dics a whooping.

Who the dick thinks constantly electrocuting a guy is funny?!

A lot of money is wasted on patents and licenses. Also, promoters can be really bad at their job and use money ineffectually. Basically, the mainstream entertainment system is sick, and bloated.

But user feels happy when others suffer.

it's called a Yea Forums poster, allowing live action was a mistake.
