Mysterio is a former Stark Industries employee who was fired by Tony Stark and wants revenge by becoming the new Iron Man and usurping Stark's place as Earth's greatest hero.
He creates the Elementals through a combination of illusions and advanced drones of his own design, and concots an elaborate fictional backstory about being a great hero from a parallel universe to manipulate Nick Fury into recruiting him for his new team.
Mysterio's plan actually succeeds, and he is embraced as a hero by the population. He also develops a genuine bond with Spider-Man over the course of his ruse, which is shattered when Spider-Man discovers the truth and refuses to join him. This results in a vicious battle in which Mysterio appears to die when several of his drones explode.
In the mid-credits scene, "someone" sends major media outlets doctored footage of the fight between Spider-Man and Mysterio, edited to make Spider-Man appear to be criminal and exposing his secret Identity to the world.
Tony Stark is dead, he won't be usurping shit. Try to pay attention.
I could buy the bit about the Elementals being illusions he made to play hero and catch the Avengers' attention as the twist of the movie, but not even Thanos disrespected the dead. That's the kinda shit that gets you banned in Asia and Disney wants those Chinese ticket sales.
Mason Perez
Hulk deleted scene; Burning building. Kids needing rescued. Hulk comes jumps out of nowhere and saves them. The end
Spider-Man footage; Fury and Maria Hill walking around and Mysterio flies down. Then Sandman comes out of the ground. The end
Colton Hill
>>Tony Stark is dead, he won't be usurping shit. Try to pay attention. Not OP but you're a fucking retard.
>edited to make Spider-Man appear to be criminal and exposing his secret Identity to the world. At least he won't have to wear the mask anymore
Aiden Russell
>exposing his secret Identity to the world Fuck you marvel.
Chase Robinson
>Mysterio is a former Stark Industries employee who was fired by Tony Stark and wants revenge by becoming the new Iron Man and usurping Stark's place as Earth's greatest hero.
I wonder if Marvel comics will change 616 Peter to match?
Landon Diaz
Usurping is specifically defined as taking the place of someone in power against their will. You can't usurp a dead person.
"Usurping [concept]" is just poor English.
Asher Martinez
Buddy, you are dumber than a bag of rocks. >Iron Man is a martyr after saving the world >Mysterio wants to erase that by being the hot new thing in town Learn to read dumbass
Austin Campbell
...
Daniel Martinez
Is your reading comprehension on par with a fucking zygote?
Eli Howard
If OP wasn't a greentext fanfic, this might be the first MCU I skip. You can't follow Michael Keaton's gun-pulling Vulture with Jake Glycerol pumping some "I wanna be the guy" bullshit.
James Moore
Everyone grasped the concept. You're the only one throwing a fit about grammar.
Henry Thomas
That doesn't make any more sense, learn how to english you retard.
Tyler Powell
They haven’t even let Aunt May know Peter’s Secret despite MCU May already knowing. They don’t give a shit about the MCU outside of occasionally using designs or reusing a villain that was in a recent MCU film for an event.
Cooper Clark
>Usurp >take (a position of power or importance) illegally or by force >"Mysterio intends to usurp Iron Man's legacy".
Fucking summerfag, pay attention in school. It's real. Are you actually pissed about a Mysterio story where he poses as a hero?
Anthony Allen
Found the idiot with shit reading comprehension.
Benjamin Moore
No no, you got it backwards, mate. I'm directing him to you.
William Hall
so what is his plan exactly? just be a hero after a staged "audition?"
Luke Hall
Marvel is not that retarded.
Adrian Garcia
ITS
FUCKING
MYSTERIO.
Grayson Kelly
It's not hard to follow >Get fame, possibly wealth. But most importantly outshine the guy you hate and effectively make him a footnote in history with your fake heroism. Best of all, the guy is dead, and can't do a thing about it Same thing happens with celebrities really. People are constantly moving on to the new hot thing.
Blake Campbell
he wants to take revenge on Iron Man by Talented Mr Riplying him and cucking Iron Man's legacy by becoming the new Iron Man.
He manufactures fake bad guys that only he knows how to defeat in order to get in with Fury and the rest of the Avengers.
Juan Gray
Yes it does dumb retard.
Jackson Lee
>More making Spider-Man villains Iron Man villains >Another "Spider-Man is now Iron Kid" movie
I really wish the MCU would fucking die already.
Caleb Brown
Why the fuck did you link me? I'm saying exactly what you're saying, you fucking twit.
Jack Phillips
ENTER JAMESON
Wyatt Brooks
>revealing Spider-Man's identity
Why do so many people, over and over, get this wrong? Why do so many people fail to realize how completely essential it is to Spider-Man's character that he has a secret identity?
>It's real. Are you actually pissed about a Mysterio story where he poses as a hero? Sauce or you're full of shit.
"Position" means held position. A position isn't held if its former holder is dead.
Google infoboxes are shit. Merriam-Webster's definition is "to seize and hold (office, place, functions, powers, etc.) in possession by force or without right." It's not in possession if the person is dead.
Colton Richardson
Thats the most lazy fucking excuse to become evil that i've ever heard. Dear lord plz be fake >mysterio wantw spidey to join him With what? If this retarded plot is real its failure is inevitable, hed get exposed eventually as a fraud
Because sadly no one has given a single fuck about secret identities in this universe from the start. Writers are two lazy to work around it anymore. Just shut the fuck up you illiterate faggot.
Daniel Watson
They should’ve gotten Bruce Campbell to play him
Luis Morales
He’s had a Secret identity for fifty years, it is time to move on and do something original.
Angel Jenkins
Is nearly everyone in this thread a goddamn moron? >Bad guy gets exposed >"Yeah I lied, big deal. You want in on the scam, Peter? Cmon it will be great!" >"No" >"Well you're not going to ruin this for me!" >Peter stops him >"Well fuck you, Peter. I'm ruining your career now!"
Daniel Hernandez
You can "move on" with some other character. Juggling his superhero life with his normal life is a core aspect of who Peter is.
Dylan Rivera
Not him but fuck you, faggot. I don't care if this is shitty bait, you have legitimate shit taste.
Jace Moore
How the fuck does nobody know Mysterio worked for stark before? Him lying about the multiverse Yea Forums saw coming miles away but you’re telling me nobody bothered to do a background check?
Robert Reyes
I'll take the "SHUT UP FAGGOT"s as indirect confirmation that this is fake and OP used usurp incorrectly.
It's sad that you think that this is original, especially for the MCU.
Cameron Morales
>implying they won’t put the genie back in the bottle in the sequel Peter will have someone dress up as Spider-Man (after he hates all the attention and gets lawsuits or whatever) and the media will go “Oh, I guess Peter isn’t Spider-Man after all. Or Doctor Strange will cast a spell and make everyone forget and delete the footage.
Jacob Johnson
He didn't you ESL retard.
Mysterio has brought up a lot of retards since he was confirmed.
Juan Hall
I'd call this a spoiler but I guessed this shit from the start
Parker Thompson
kill the past if you have to
Jayden Peterson
Right just like how all those other movie leaks that hit here a week before release (if not earlier) were bullshit >"Time travel in Endgame? FAKE!"
Charles Adams
Stark Industries was a weapon manufacturer, so it's possible that he had off-the-record employees.
Disney is way the fuck off course from "Hollywood special effects genius" if that's what they're doing with the character.
Bentley Anderson
>HURR DURR I HATE CHANGE AND ONLY WANT THE SAME REPEATED STORIES AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN DERP *rolls eyes*
Adam Johnson
You're dumb, you're really really stupid and retarded, so don't call me one because not only do I not want to be associated with a turbo moron but I'm not braindead like you, dumbfuck
Ayden Fisher
>random fag wont expose you >but a guy you actually bonded with does >his genius plan banks on everyone being literal retards with no one recognizing him and no real supervillains appearing
There's an idiot here but its not him
Evan Ramirez
It's fucking pathetic that this is what you do for attention.
Adam Morgan
Because they want another Iron Man, user. The trailer is literally just them making SPIDER-MAN, ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC FUCKING SUPERHEROES OF ALL TIME, another Iron Man clone.
Nathan Cooper
Who the fuck was saying there wouldn't be time travel in Endgame? There was time travel in Infinity War, of course there would be in the sequel.
Tyler Lee
if he was that good why did he get fired in the first place
Nathan Carter
>inbred chilean factory worker tries to tell someone who speaks english as a first language and not their second what words mean
BUHHHHHH BUHHHH ME UNGA DON KNO WORD NO GOOD BUHHHHHHHHHHHH
Boggles the mind why they didn’t just do a scam artist whose a special effects guy looking for easy loot. The stark employee thing is such a retarded motivation, Mysterio is the one character you could get away just saying he’s a dick
Liam Sanders
>Copying Iron Man is original >Shitting on all the potential stories still untouched for it is a good thing Fuck you
Aaron Parker
>Mysterio is a former Stark Industries employee who was fired by Tony Stark Of course he is
Kayden Morris
>This will be the sixth time we have rebooted Spider-Man and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.
>There was time travel in Infinity War Strange LOOKED into the future with the time stone, which he lost. People were calling bullshit that they were going to build a fucking time machine to fix everything. Turns out it was real
Joseph Gomez
>Or Doctor Strange will cast a spell and make everyone forget and delete the footage. >One More Day, only with Benedict Cumberbatch as the Mephisto expy
I almost want them to do it. What a mess it would be.
I was able to stomache it in homecoming but if they really try to shoehorn this fucker in as having ties to iron man, with motivations entirely resultant of iron mans i will riot
Eli Watson
Is this really any less stupid than tying everyone to OSCORP?
Benjamin Brooks
Wow you are really idiot, go fucking cry more
Adrian Rivera
I don’t think it will be OMD in that he has to make a deal with the devil. I think Peter will just ask Dr Strange to wipe everyone’s memories (except maybe a select few) and Strange will do it. Maybe it would even be played up as a joke for laughs.
Or again someone will dress up as Spidey while Peter is around people.
Carson Wright
Mysterio being a dick trying to steal priceless art from European museums and just happening to have the terrible luck of Spider-Man showing up makes for a much more entertaining narrative.
Not every villain has to be inevitable.
Thanos LITERALLY reversed time to get the Mind Stone.
Jaxon Sanchez
It's all fucking stupid.
Hunter Clark
This whole fucking movie is dumb as fuck
>go to spider man, literally the most inexperienced person they could choose, when they have at least 3 or 4 better options >give him authority to recruit mysterio into the avengers for some gay reason >nick fury just believes this faggot when he says hes from another earth. No background check, no nothing
Luis Johnson
They thought that was a good scene to use in the credits? As if it wasn’t already plainly obvious they wanted to break the record
Holy fuck..
Logan Stewart
Listen kiddo, cause i know you're like 14 years old and you think googling "what do usurp mean" and using some random bumfuck google result that fits your narrow description makes you smart, but lemme tell you:
You're retarded.
Go back to school, dumb dumb.
How old are you champ? 12? 11? You think you're cool and hip? Hahahahahhahahaha.
I'm sorry but how does that change ANYTHING I just said? No one stated even remotely fucking with time was new. However, people naturally were skeptic at building a time machine and using time travel without the use of an infinity stone.
Learn to read, dipshit.
Bentley Cox
it's more stupid, since at least Oscorpo is a thing from Spider-Man, but now even Oscorp will be linked to Tony Stark you can fucking bet
James Edwards
Like we need another Gwen Stacy does Story. Besides, you can still some old stories with Peter’s identity I own.
And let’s be honest, having Peter publically known as Spidey opens up to just as many new story possibilities.
Joshua Thomas
So we're talking about people who skipped Ant-Man and the Wasp? Because there was clearly going to be some Quantum Realm temporal chucklefuckery with the ending of that movie and Scott in the Endgame trailer.
Joshua Foster
Actually OP left out a few things >Fury knew the whole time and had Peter run interferance until he could figure out Beck's scheme >After credit scene is JK Simmons reprising his role as JJ Jameson, showing the fake footage and calling Peter a menace >Joke after credit scene reveals Fury and Hill were Skrulls taking over while the real Fury and Hill were on vacation
Landon Gonzalez
OSCORP is gonna just br evil stark industries
Jason Russell
>having Peter publically known as Spidey opens up to just as many new story possibilities. like villains threatening his friends and family? holy shit genius
Caleb Stewart
>And let’s be honest, having Peter publically known as Spidey opens up to just as many new story possibilities. Yeah. The same ones they've already covered after Stark announced he was Iron Man at the end of the first movie.
I know it's been over ten years since the first Iron Man came out, but it's just insulting and cannibalizing of their own franchise if Disney is just gonna keep rehashing Iron Man shit with Spider-Tom.
Chase Carter
Not every hero needs to be fucking Iron Man holy shit, user. You're a Yea Forums tourist who hasn't read shit, calling this new
Julian Miller
>>And let’s be honest, having Peter publically known as Spidey opens up to just as many new story possibilities. No it doesnt.
Jason Parker
So Shield couldn't be assed to do a simple ass background check that would have instantly blown Mysterios story apart? And Spider-Man gets outed after his second big adventure, really? Yup, I was right, the MCU really does have no future after Endgame. Its all downhill now
James James
>having Peter publically known as Spidey opens up to just as many new story possibilities. You haven't read a single Spider-Man comic in your life, have you?
Cameron Parker
Literally doesnt do anything besides >ohnoes now my family is in danger
Does the movie actually resolve the whole "The world needs the next Iron Man" thing? Does Peter go lol, no thanks?
Ian Ward
See
Nathan Nelson
Fuck off you are obsessed!
Leo Roberts
god I hope it gets resolved by introducing Riri just for the butthurt
Kayden Turner
Come on, user. Let’s be real here. Secret Idenities are DEAD. D-E-A-D. Dead.
Why do you think MiB and Harry Potter are now bombing?
No one wants to be a secret dude/dudette. They want to be a hero that is known to the world. Secrets aren’t cool.
/thread
Henry Brown
Why do larpers from Reddit like this cringey asshole come here for attention?
Brody Brooks
OH NO! Peter's identity is revealed at the tail end of the film! I can't wait for the next film to gloss over all that because of the time gap and lessens the impact of that moment like how the first film ends with Aunt May discovering Peter's identity and she's just cool with it.
What's the point of making major changes at the tail end of the film then acting like they don't matter for the next film?
Brayden Cook
You don't /thread your own post you gigantic faggot.
Logan Perez
...actually, I'd be fine with Spider-Man's identity getting revealed if it means providing an excuse for Aunt ToMay to get BLACKED by Fury after he has to take her into protective custody. Interracial milf is kino.
>Mysterio is a former Stark Industries employee who was fired by Tony Stark and wants revenge by becoming the new Iron Man and usurping Stark's place as Earth's greatest hero.
everything about that backstory and motivation is stupid as hell
Jose Morgan
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA HOW OLD ARE YA CHAMP ARE YA 10? HAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHA
>Mysterio is a former Stark Industries employee who was fired by Tony Stark and wants revenge by becoming the new Iron Man and usurping Stark's place as Earth's greatest hero. I couldn't write this as parody if I tried as hard as I possibly could. Unbelievable.
So wait, are you guys pissed about the Stark connection or Mysterio pretending to be a hero? Because I pray to god it's the former for your sake
Wyatt Price
Welp earth based MCU is in the shitter. Let me know whem Nova comes out
Austin White
Yes.
Peter realizes he doesn't need to be the new Iron Man. He can't replace Stark and be the same kind of hero he was, but he can be the best version of Spider-Man that he can and do things his own way.
Lucas Howard
>generic orchestral trash it's worse than that, it's so fucking flat
Adrian Perry
The former you fucking idiot. You could try reading with your eyeballs instead of asking such a dumb question.
Nathan Lewis
Then I hope Aunt May dies at the hands of the villain in the third movie as a lesson to zoomers that your Twitch view count isn't as important as your family's safety.
Charles Price
Just like he did in the first movie! I can't wait for it to happen again in the next movie.
Jason Young
>Usurp Stark's position
as a dead guy? Because he's a fucking dead guy. How in the fuck is someone going to usury a dead person's position as a dead person?
This Spider-Man franchise just feels so bizarre. Like, the Raimi films felt so close to source material and tone the MCU should have gone for, but this all just feels so warped. Like, all the worst decisions you could make for a Spider-Man franchise all because they were obsessed with keeping Peter in High School.
Like, Jesus, I hope they actually tone this shit down when he gets to College, but the train is so fucking derailed right now that I expect Peter to be a multibillionaire who found out he has an illegitimate son that he has to raise by the fifth film.
Jacob Gray
But does he decide to take a greater leadership role in the Avengers or anything?
I wouldn't say that. The first movie is about him realizing that he simply isn't ready for Avengers level shit yet
Austin Brown
You’d think that’s what they’d go with. I guess vulture made them not want to do another part time crook but fuck sake what spider man didn’t start out doing bank robberies? All about the gimmick
Alexander Barnes
Just fucking stop already you asshurt baby. My god your samefagging hurts
Liam Allen
>Little child thinks the grown adults dont know what happens if you tap the airplane icon
This is why you're being held back again, billy.
Alexander Morales
>usury So Mysterio worked in accounting for Stark Industries?
>usurp position of a guy who literally died at his peak by saving the universe
>by fighting a sand monster
They really didnt think this through
Alexander Martinez
The problem with these movies feeling so disjointed is that they are trying very hard to actually NOT follow the tone of anything Spider-Man related anyone has seen before.
Trying so damn hard to be different and new and they are edging on it being too damn different to accept as Spider-Man.
Andrew Roberts
I think the real issue here is that MCU Mysterio won't be nearly as theatrical and over the top as we would want youtube.com/watch?v=L6MHL2AETno
Killing off MCU Aunt May could be interesting if done well and make for some powerful moments exploring MCU Peter’s humanity.
And since Marvel studios aren’t idiots, they won’t have Peter make a deal with Satan or have her turn out to be an actor as part of a plan to fake her death.
Blake Adams
I'm not 10 I have an IQ of over 300 and I have several college degrees and my girlfriend loves me and you're stupid
Alexander Wood
Couldn't Fury just shoot Beck in the back of the head when he wasn't looking?
It feels good to not be a fan of the Spiderman character because I still really enjoy the arc they're creating since I don't give two fucks about the source material.
This is Spiderman for people who don't really like Spiderman
>usury It's brilliant, the first generation of zoomers just graduated from high school. Nothing is more enticing yet villainous to them than student loans.
If these are legit i cant wait for the shitposts once this movie is released
Samuel Ross
>hulk saving kids in a burning building
Why isn’t this catching more shit? Complete waste of time to sit for three hours again to watch what’s tantamount to a cartoon special
Oliver Lee
>This is Spiderman for people who don't really like Spiderman This physically hurt to read.
Nathan Diaz
Mysterio kidnapping Aunt May and using special effects to make it look like he killed her to trick Spider-Man into revealing his dark side would be the right way to do an unmasking plot, but we're probably not getting that since they're already using Mysterio in this movie and the unmasking apparently happens in the post-credits.
Jason Ross
Nice cover, no argument, nothing to say back because you know you lost. Just fall into insults and pretending that you somehow know better after failing miserably.
Cameron Hughes
I'm a fan of Spider-man but I'm not a screeching autist who demands 100% accuracy to the source material.
Austin Scott
I just pwned you nerd, go cry more
Logan Williams
I'm not a fan of Spider-Man and I still dislike this Spider-Man
Benjamin Ramirez
It's not my fault. I'm just telling you what I see. Never liked the guy, dreaded him showing up in Civil War, but really got interested in the whole Stark mentorship arc. If Spider-Man fans are supposed to hate it then I'm glad to not be one
Deviating widely from the origin of the villain in the actual comics is one thing, but every Spider-Man villain having something to do with Stark is just fucking retarded.
Ethan Perry
You literally have no argument you fucking dumbass middle schooler, depending on if you were samefaggign or not you either just REE'd at me or went full "ACKSHUALLY MY DAD WORKS AT NINTENDO" tier asshurt.
I dont need to argue a point back at you because you sperged out after everyone told you you were wrong. You made an incredibly embarrassing mistake because you dont understand how a word can be used in a postmortem context and instead of admitting you were wrong you double down on being a retard. Just accept you were retarded and move on.
Who the fuck says "pwned" in 2019?
Ryder Morgan
Not unless Mysterio faked his death and helps build up the Sinister Six.
David Reed
A) Who the fuck hates Spider-Man? Legitimately i find that difficult to comprehend.
B) You're a faggot.
Easton Hernandez
>Marvel is not that retarded. You could just say you don't read comics.
Jonathan Johnson
Csnt wait to see how they make thw green goblins origin focused around iron man too
Camden Cruz
You are a type of faggot that I've never seen before.
Jeremiah Anderson
user, the Raimi movies made alterations, but were in spirit and in execution accurate to the core of Spider-Man.
The problem is this shit is fundamentally not Spider-Man, and making everything about Spider-Man revolve around fucking Iron Man is stupid.
Chase Lewis
Norman will be the new Iron Patriot instead of Green Goblin and Oscorp is now in the former Stark Tower, it was leaked already.
Jose White
Oh yeah, they're going to fuck up the ten years that fans have been waiting for OMD to be undone just so they can get that sweet MCU synergy, I'm sure that Marvel would fuck with their golden goose like that.
Jayden Taylor
They did change just a little too much. There is going in a new direction and then there is just changing shit for the sake of changing shit. But when most of the rest of the MCU still holds to the source material pretty closely, it feels weird to have this other franchise revel in being as different as possible.
>Stark made the costume >it has an AI that Peter chats with constantly >Iron Man's sidekick from the start >No Uncle Ben >Aunt May is hot and in her early 40s >Flash is a dumpier, dorkier nerd than Peter >No real focus on Peter's life at all >MJ is the angsty moody angry bitch of the class that hates Peter
The Disney XD cartoon is doing a much better job of being different and having a highschool age Peter while still keeping pretty close to the original material
Juan Allen
>Norman was an ex of Peoper Potts in college
Brandon Jones
I’m not a fan of Spider-man’s rogues hating another hero more than him
Jack Jackson
user i dont think you quite comprehend just how immeasurably incompetent Marvel Entertainment is.
Evan Stewart
I find the whole "I wanna be a hero, but also just a normal dude" characters boring and annoying. I like the Bruce Waynes/Tony Starks of the world who are all-in on being heroes with their real world identities more of a means to an end in hero work.
Spinning Spider-Man into a teenage Iron Man fanboy who suddenly has his idol paying attention to him and trying his hardest to live up to his expectations is a much more fascinating type of character who I don't recall seeing nearly as much
Make the Green Goblin another armor based on a previous Stark suit.
Norman get the Iron Patriot suit and uses that to build goodwill and become a media darling. Then in the third act of the film, unveil the more powerful Green Goblin armor to fight Spider-Man with.
Juan Perry
Maybe I just refuse to think that anyone could be that retarded, or that I read all of Slott's run just for nothing.
Jose Brown
>Iron Patriot It was done years ago.
Zachary Bennett
>I find the whole "I wanna be a hero, but also just a normal dude" That isnt Spider-Man you fucking sperg retard, he doesnt want to be a hero, he doesnt want to be Spider-Man, he's urged into being Spider-Man by a crippling sense of responsibility. God damn.
>Spinning Spider-Man into a teenage Iron Man fanboy who suddenly has his idol paying attention to him and trying his hardest to live up to his expectations is a much more fascinating type of character who I don't recall seeing nearly as much THAT ISNT FUCKING SPIDER-MAN.
William Anderson
Have him be a former Stark engineer that worked on the Iron Monger armor in the first movie then was fired ans sent to jail after the events of the first movie. He had a grudge against Stark and now buys up old Stark properties in an attempt to be more popular.
Caleb Ortiz
Green Goblin is power armor made using stolen stark tech
John Lewis
Amazing, every thing you say makes you look like even bigger retard.
Bentley Cox
I mean, I get the feeling they are about to write themselves into a really awful wall really soon. Peter having his identity revealed is something the comics didn't even explore that well. It was a short arc after Civil War and it was instantly undone. I think the MCU writers are just trying to do shocking big moments for Peter, but don't really have a solid plan on what those things mean.
Hell, I am placing my bet that come next year, all future MCU films will forget about the 5 year snap and every single character will conveniently have been snapped to not face repercussions. Hell, Kamala Khan's entire family will probably been snapped!
Landon Stewart
Teen tony stark made fun of normans hair
Ayden Thomas
>Green Goblin is power armor made using stolen stark tech Shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up.
> >>I find the whole "I wanna be a hero, but also just a normal dude" >That isnt Spider-Man you fucking sperg retard, he doesnt want to be a hero, he doesnt want to be Spider-Man, he's urged into being Spider-Man by a crippling sense of responsibility. God damn. quick addendum: And guilt.
Responsibility and extreme guilt is what makes him want to be Spider-Man, not just wanting to do good just cause. He was deeply traumatized through the consequences of his own actions and because of that feels the need to act so it doesnt happen again.
Aiden Bennett
Norman stole the Oz formula from Stark. Stark never used it because it was too unstable (which drives Norman crazy).
Easton Reed
You're fucking retarded, he became Spiderman out of ego and a desire to be larger than life
Josiah Wilson
So Mysterio WAS gay! Gay for YOU!
Jayden Green
Only uncle ben added the guilt, his original impulse to become Spiderman was to stunt on his enemies and humiliate them for revenge
Ryder Ortiz
Kinda like what Spider-Man 2 did with Harry finding out Peter's identity?
Hunter Hughes
Yeah retard he sure does love being a hero because of how much love and attention he gets.
Yeah a HERO because he loves his ego and attention.
Its not like he wasnt a fucking hero to begin with and was just a TV personality doing wacky stunts before accidentally getting his uncle merc'd, thats not it at all. He just loves people sucking his dick.
You know.
Spider-Man.
That famous hero who has a good reputation with the populace and doesnt get chased by the police.
>>Flash is a dumpier, dorkier nerd than Peter It's so weird cause I seen people have such visceral hatred for this character and wanting his death all around the internet and I'm confused as to why. Peter is constantly blowing off his friends and he is right to point out that he isn't there for them.
Brandon Russell
You really think they will not go back to status quo? Spidey can just blackmail Beck into admiting he faked the whole thing >Like, the Raimi films felt so close to source material and tone the MCU should have gone for, but this all just feels so warped They don't want to be compared to any of the previous movies, that's why they aren't using Gwen Stacy, Harry, Otto, etc.
Asher Williams
Ignore that user, the third movie is gonna be flashbacks to Spidey's origin and he and Goblin are both the result of OSCORP experimenting with biotech to create "human weapons" on par with Stark's power armor.
Matthew Collins
He became a hero because with great power comes great responsibility you fucking retard, literally the last panel of his first appearance say that.
Juan James
Guess you don't know Spider-Man then
He was a massive FF fanboy and wanted to be a member of their team. While also being a huge fan of Thor in the 60s and hoped to be a true superhero like him. Current Spider-Man is perfectly in keeping with the character as originally written by Stan Lee. Maybe if you were a little less casual you might know that.
>>He was a massive FF fanboy and wanted to be a member of their team BECAUSE HE WANTED FUCKING MONEY YOU WIKIPEDIA RETARD.
AS SOON AS HE LEARNED IT DIDNT FUCKING PAY, HE LEFT.
Isaiah Brooks
It's a pretty big departure since Peter was one of the main ones that kept his identity secret from almost all of the hero community. He hung with the FF a lot but they still never saw his face.
Blake Watson
Don't you fucking use Lee/Ditko era Spider-Man to shitpost.
Joseph Howard
>He was a massive FF fanboy and wanted to be a member of their team
>he's urged into being Spider-Man by a crippling sense of responsibility. God damn. That's what I'm referring to, I just worded it differently. It bores me.
>THAT ISNT FUCKING SPIDER-MAN. I didn't say it is, but it's unintentionally much more unique and interesting
I found Homecoming's arc of Spider-Man as it relates to Peter's own sense of self worth much more interesting
I don't know why you're so upset. I started off saying I don't like Spider-Man and that you're probably valid in your complaints. It's just that they inadvertently did something much more interesting for someone like me in its place
And I'd bet the heavy referencing of Stark is likely Sony's idea to get more butts in the theater.
He went there for a goddamn paycheck and then fucked off when they didn't have work for him. He wasn't a starstruck faggot
Christian Wood
It's because they clearly wanted to avoid similarities to the previous movies to attempt to avoid franchise fatigue.
Jaxson Davis
>but it's unintentionally much more unique and interesting To retards maybe.
Andrew Martin
>>I didn't say it is, but it's unintentionally much more unique and interesting No it fucking isnt. Dont delude yourself you shonen reading faggot.
>That's what I'm referring to, I just worded it differently. It bores me. Motherfucker that literally isnt what you said.
Nolan Hernandez
Why are you so mad? The shitty Raimi movies still exist.
Michael Peterson
way to samefag samefag, pretending to be someone else doesn't make you right
Thomas Stewart
Can someone explain the meteoric rise in absolute fucking retards who skim wikipedia articles and pretend they're deep lore motherfuckers with encyclopedic knowledge of comics in not just this thread but Yea Forums as of late?
It cant actually be children being let out of school for summer vacation can it? I thought that was jsut a meme. This is next level retarded.
Eli Parker
I find you truly sad and pathetic, that this is the only human contact that you get. You willingly play an ignorant fool for attention
That is literally the core function of wikipedia in the first place. Now everyone is an expert in everything 100% of the time
Austin Rogers
Because I have to deal with retards like you. And do you really think that the Raimi movies are the reason why I like Spider-Man?
Adrian Rivera
See, that at least lead to an arc in the third film for Harry. The film didn't end on Harry unmasking Peter, and there was some fallout. But here? Aunt May found out Peter is Spider-Man, and she's just cool with it in the trailer. Like "Hey, I'm the hot aunt who is cool with my teenage nephew risking his life daily because we can't have a SERIOUS tone now, can we?"
That's what really grates me about MCU Spider-Man. It's solely about people telling Peter to step up as Spider-Man and nothing deeper. Homecoming even bizarrely contradicts its own message, where Peter throughout the film abandons his school life and fails as Spider-Man only to abandon his school life, almost cause a 9/11, and fails to stop the Vulture (he lost that fight, remember?) that he MCU Spider-Man just feels vapid. Like it's just made for the people who just go "OHMYGODFUCKINGSPIDERMANYESYESYES!!!" like Cory on Double Toasted.
Levi Peterson
You're a shill, aren't you.
Tyler Davis
>a young peter parker gets his identity exposed, leaving his villains to be able to find his address
Nope, when a remake is made, all previous versions of a piece of media cease to exist from that moment on.
I used to really like Thundercats but the second the Thndercats Roar trailer was uploaded a year ago, all episodes of every previous series stopped existing. I'll miss being able to watch them too. Sucks they are gone forever now that someone made a new version which erased all old versions.
Chase Butler
Most people who complain about the MCU stuff tend to worship Spiderman 2.
Nicholas Bennett
You understand The Amazing Spider-Man #1 isnt some lost media that people cant just look at and cite and take pictures of right?
You know you're full of shit and you know we know you havent read it, right?
>>Shitting on all the potential stories still untouched for it is a good thing What potential? Sony already snatched all the good characters for their shitty bootleg MCU.
Kayden Evans
>You really think they will not go back to status quo? Spidey can just blackmail Beck into admiting he faked the whole thing You're thinking too far. What's more likely to happen? Everyone is just cool with Peter being Spider-Man. I can see it now >>Teacher "Mr. Parker, while I appreciate your willingness to save lives, I rather have you focus on the assignment at hand." And that's it. Another MCU film treating something as huge but then it's ultimately meaningless in the next film, like how the Snap will be treated going forward.
Brandon Gutierrez
Hey I have microsoft paint too. Fun!
Nicholas Wright
I don't even like the Raimi movies outside of a couple of scenes.
Angel Brooks
yeah lets retread that "with great power" nonsense from the other 40 movies
Christian Turner
>Peter ignores Ned's plans to visit his house, which leads to Ned discovering he's Spider-Man. >He chooses to investigate the explosions instead of go to Liz's party, which leads to him getting involved in Vulture's weapons deal. >He trusts Ned with the Chitari Core without knowing what it does, which puts everyone at Washington in danger. >He continues to pursue Vulture despite Tony's insistence that he'll handle it, which gets the barge split in half, which leads to him losing the Internship, and suit. >Peter chooses to ask Liz out to Homecoming, which leads to him discovering Vulture's identity. >Peter's actions throughout the film and choosing to be Spider-Man instead of being Peter Parker lead to Vulture realizing that he's Spider-Man. >Vulture gives Peter the choice to either have a fun time with Liz, or continue to chase him and have Toomes destroy everything he cares about. >Peter decides to do the right thing, and put Toomes in jail. This leads to him potentially ruining Liz's life, and he can no longer be with her. Peter's actions in being Spider-Man DID have consequences. Fuck his choices are the ENTIRE reason Homecoming happened in the first place.
Isaac Rivera
It's a departure that I don't think they will know what to do with. Like, why don't villains just shoot up Peter's school at that point? Shocker got into that place pretty easily in Homecoming.
Hudson Carter
>Disney's Spider-Man is slightly different than Stan Lieber's It's a thinker, sure enough.
This is the second time in a week ive had to go and screenshot an early issue of TASM to prove to some retard they're wrong because they skimmed wikipedia and pretended they knew better.
Some fucking absolute dumb faggot retard claimed Mysterio never ever once pretended to be a hero in the comics in another FFH thread, for example. Now this other retard claiming Spider-Man tried to join the FF because he was a fanboy. Christ.
Leo Smith
Yeah whatever helps you sleep at night, pal. All you are is a whore tricking yourself out for a cheap (You)
Oliver Sanders
Except they just confirmed that Holland is on for 7 more films.
Owen Lewis
Are you actually comparing the basis of the entire character of Spider-Man to him not being Iron-boy? Are you fucking retarded?
Wyatt Sanchez
>shitty
Kevin Roberts
Holy shit you have no idea how fucking mad I was in 2014 when the Robocop remake caused my double disc collector's edition of 87 Robocop to blink out of existence.
I can only imagine how fucking furious Ghostbusters fans were in 2016 when the new movie erased all traces of their movie collection.
People are just mad that his team won the academic decathlon without him.
Luke White
>entire character but it's not raimifag
Eli Rivera
>Slightly You mean completely.
Tyler Murphy
>7 more films. Wew Source?
Ethan Johnson
Where do you fucking retards come from? Have you even read a fucking Spider-Man comic in your life?
Tyler Fisher
But even then, it never feels like it really crushes Peter. Peter fucks up Flash's car and nothing happens. Peter walks out of detention and nothing happens. And I doubt Liz is even going to be relevant in any future film. I doubt that Peter will even bring her up again. Hell, she probably didn't get snap and is too old for him is probably where they will go with her.
Evan Gomez
I don't understand why MCU is so totally against secret identities in the first place. No one has one and everyone roams around with no mask on all the damn time
Adrian Evans
I think Scott Lang still has a secret identity.
Nicholas Ward
Thats all required plot shit though. Its purely for plots sake.
Nothing beyond that happens as it should logically go. He skips the decathalon thing, they win anyway. He skips out on Liz, she's not mad at him. He reveals his secret fucking identity to Aunt May, she doesnt care by this movie. He fucking reveals it to VULTURE and again, he doesnt care. He fucking bisects a ferry and Iron Man Deus Ex Machinas it instantly with bullshit plot magic.
Hudson Reyes
Probably think ita not "realistic"
Cooper Bailey
He seems to work by no one giving a shit who he is
Gabriel Hughes
No he doesn't. He was on probation with the government and they were pissed he didn't fork over a pym suit
James Sanchez
Yes it is you fucking idiot.
Ian Lewis
Okay, found it, but it looks flimsy
>>Everyone’s favorite neighborhood superhero is just about to swing back to the big screen in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” next week. And according to a new report, it seems there may be many more iterations of the current franchise to come!
>>According to We Got This Covered, it seems Marvel could be planning up to seven more films featuring the high-flying hero. From this rumor, it’s believed that the franchise will include one more movie with Peter Parker in high school and following that, it’s said we’ll get three films with him in college. And to top it all off, the franchise is then believed to get a third trilogy with an adult Spider-Man doing “adult things.”
>>This report also states that in the future of the franchise, when it’s rumored that Spider-Man may get crossovers with Deadpool and possibly Wolverine, the film series will build up to a “huge Thanos-esque final showdown with a nasty villain.”
>>Earlier this year, it was reported that Sony Pictures has already planned out an entire Spider-Man universe for the web-slinging superhero thanks to the success of Sony’s “Spider-Man: into The Spider-Verse” and Disney/Marvel’s Avengers film series.
>>In an interview with Variety, Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman Tony Vinciquerra and Sony Television chairman Mike Hopkins said they have the next seven years of Spider-Man content planned with TV series and movies based around the 900 some-odd Spider-Man adjacent characters they own the rights to.
I don't think the government is going to go around saying who Ant-man is, so I think he's good.
Jacob White
Because civilians don't matter in the MCU.
Like, remember when the new Avengers facility in Age of Ultron had all those people in it, and after that it was just barren? Or how Wanda and Vision can get into a fight in that Europe city and nobody shows up? A train is operating in an empty train station?
That's what feels so weird about the MCU for me. It just feels like it's solely populated by the heroes and villains.
Nicholas Gray
MCU Spider-Man is the closest they've gotten to the comics version. It's pretty much a perfect match if you adjust for era and sociopolitical climate.
Connor King
one subpar sequel might put a stop to that and leave him in guest in other movie status
Nathaniel Jenkins
Nigga did you honestly just type those words out with a straight face.
>He fucking reveals it to VULTURE and again, he doesnt care Vulture literally threatens his life
Julian Robinson
Iron Man 2 and 3 didn't. Age of Ultron didn't. Thor: The Dark World didn't.
Christian Hernandez
Spotted the casual
Samuel Smith
>guy ruins your entire life and your familial relationship and maybe puts your daughter and wife into poverty because of moralfagging >guy who got a car dropped on him by said person asks his name >lol no actually its okay its fine no conseqeunces, see monopoly, get out of consequences free.
Levi Collins
user you've never read a single spider-man comic in your entire life, dont bullshit me.
Ethan Flores
Out of all the franchises the MCU should worry about, Spider-Man ain't one to tank.
Charles Watson
You remind me of my coworker who claimed it was the most true Spider-Man film...
Michael Bailey
Compared to what we've gotten as far as Spider-Man films go, Homecoming was.
James Edwards
No.
Juan Johnson
Apparently he was one of the guys developing weapons for Obadiah Stane, including the Iron Monger suit. Stark axed that entire department despite Beck allegedly not knowing his designs were being sold to terrorists.
Rumor has it we actually see Jeff Bridges pop up for a cameo.
No it absolutely fucking wasnt you fucking casual.
The Raimi movies, for their faults and changes, were infinitely more faithful. Fucking ASM1 was more faithful.
Lets not even get into Spider-Verse.
Brayden Morgan
Might as well say snyder didn't understand superman due to his failure to grasp "it's a bird! it's a plane! no it's superman!"
With great power is a catchphrase.
Hunter Sullivan
How did Iron Man 3 not end Iron Man solo movies?
Jack Young
Motherfucker Zack Snyder literally did not comprehend the core tenets of Supermans character what the fuck kind of defense is this.
With Great Power is the fucking core motivation behind him being Spider-Man, are you retarded?
Grayson Morgan
>Might as well say snyder didn't understand superman due to his failure to grasp "it's a bird! it's a plane! no it's superman!" >With great power is a catchphrase. I have no words to describe the stupidity of this post.
After Ant-Man and The Wasp, he has more reasons to maintain his secret.
Kevin Wood
You guys are acting like the Raimi films didn't have lightheartedness here and there. I mean, does MCU Spider-Man really quip that much in Homecoming?
Julian Sanchez
Yea except no it fucking isn't. That's just Sam Raimi bullshit he invented for his movies. You are just a crying (MOVIE) fanboy who is pretending to know something about the actual character. Go watch the shitty movie from two decades ago and be a nostalgic oldfag elsewhere
Gavin Nguyen
>Thats all required plot shit though. Its purely for plots sake. This is an invalid argument, because this case can be applied to ANY movie. >Hiccup only catches this Night Fury for the plot >The Empire doesn't blow up that escape pod r2 and Threepio were in for the plot >Iron Man is ambushed in Afganistan for the plot There are active characters, and passive characters. Active characters (like MCU Spider-Man) go out and MAKE choices that move the story. Passive characters (Rami Spider-Man) react to the things that happen around them.
>Nothing beyond that happens as it should logically go. He skips the decathalon thing, they win anyway. Peter only joined it at the last second, they never tried to persuade him to go, they seemed perfectly fine already.
>He skips out on Liz, she's not mad at him. "You,disappeared, like you always do." Kind of implies that this is a regular thing. And she was upset at him, "You have things to work out Peter."
>He reveals his secret fucking identity to Aunt May, she doesnt care by this movie. Alright, you got me there.
>He fucking reveals it to VULTURE and again, he doesnt care. Now you're pulling arguments out of your ass. Peter never once revealed who he was to Vulture. The only time Peter was maskless in front of Toomes is when Adrian already knew and it didn't really matter. Adrian figured it out BECAUSE of how much time Peter spent as Spider-Man. Had Peter STAYED at Liz' party, Toomes would have dropped the subject of Peter disappearing, and wouldn't have figured out his identity.
>He fucking bisects a ferry and Iron Man Deus Ex Machinas it instantly with bullshit plot magic. It only split because Peter continued to chase Vulture, and all that new tech he had when he hacked the suit and was overwhelmed with things he didn't know how to use.
Ryder Collins
Snyder didn't understand Superman tho
Are you trying to sink your own battleship?
Brody Gutierrez
>Still cannot even form up an argument >could have wiki'ed something to fire back with but still hasn't
The more you post, the more you look like an idiot
Are you retarded or are you seriously trying to pretend like it wasnt very openly public that RDJ's contract was coming to an end at that point and they were unaware if he was even going to continue being involved in the movies?
Also, the fuck do you mean 9 movies? He was in Avengers 2, 3, and 4, plus Civil War and Homecoming after Iron Man 3. And literally all of those are either ensemble movies or borderline cameos.
Chase Murphy
>is so completely unaware of literally any aspect of Spider-Mans history or character or stories that he thinks he's just a quip character >calling someone else a moviefag casual
>Takes quipping gag character >B-but he's supposed to be really deep and intellectual guys! I'm serious guys!
Jesus, I bet you think Deadpool is the height of artistic filmmaking too
Jace Gonzalez
Spider-Tobe was school shooter tier and Spider-Garf was a pretty boy. Spider-Tom is the first Spider-Man on the big screen that seems like a cheeky little dweeb with a heart of gold you could imagine getting bullied.
I'm not gonna bother seriously rebuking ASM, but the Raimi movies were obviously departing from the lighthearted and goofy tone of the original comics in favor of the grimdark and edgy cape flick atmosphere popularized by 2000's X-Men.
This is the third or fourth time in the past week ive either personally had to or seen someone else have to post panels or pages of early ASM issues because of retarded wiki warriors acting like they know even a single tihng when they clearly know nothing.
First off, i didnt say he didnt want to do Iron Man, i said RDJ didnt want to continue doing Iron Man movies.
Do you not understand the difference between being the lead starring role in a movie vs being a co-lead in an ensemble movie or making a cameo?
Also, learn to fucking count, retard. What are those extra 4 movies?
Iron Man 2 was in 2013, the movies he was in after that were Avengers 2-4, Civil War, and Spider-Man. Thats 5 movies. Not 9.
Brody Brooks
I think this entire shitshow of a thread started after some dumb faggot didn't know what the word "usurp" meant and got asshurt when everyone jumped on him
Isaiah Perez
Jesus fucking christ read a single comic book before you die holy shit.
Aiden King
>I'm not gonna bother seriously rebuking ASM, but the Raimi movies were obviously departing from the lighthearted and goofy tone of the original comics in favor of the grimdark and edgy cape flick atmosphere popularized by 2000's X-Men.
I'm not so sure if that was by design like you said, or if it is just how Raimi makes his movies. All of his films are in the same level of dark broody with some comedy in there
Zachary Wood
>Spider-Tom is the first Spider-Man on the big screen that seems like a cheeky little dweeb with a heart of gold you could imagine getting bullied. That's not how Peter was in high-school you fucking retard.
Jackson Powell
Spider-Man has always been about the relationships in Peter's life and how he deals with them while trying to be a superheroe.
the whole "Yea Forums doesn't read comics" thingis not a meme, is it now?
Hunter Adams
>Iron Man 2 was in 2013 Iron Man 3 rather, typo'd.
.
Adam Brown
>driven by guilt, not some catchphrase wow thanks for proving my argument for me retard
Daniel Martin
I know you said he did not want to make movies after IM3. And he did, which makes you wrong and now you wasted this much time and effort backpeddling. Still wrong, only now you are a mix of sad and wrong
Landon Thompson
I'm done with this bullshit, next time read a fucking comic before trying to have an argument in an imageboard about comic books.
It's not but ok. He's basically what if Batman was broke
Colton Powell
>Spider-Tobe was school shooter tier WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK THAT IS YOU FUCKING IDIOT.
MAYBE ITS BECAUSE HE WAS BORDERLINE SCHOOL SHOOTER TIER AND YOU DONT FUCKING READ COMICS?
John White
Spider-Man was a joke character who's function was to piss off and annoy the rest of the hero community. The "Super seep and dark" shit came significantly later.
again, read a fucking comic casual
Matthew Jones
>posting Yea Forums garbage That's how I know you don't belong here
Connor Carter
IRON MAN MOVIES YOU IDIOT.
IRON MAN MOVIES.
Angel Hall
Nah, Spider-Garf was the totally awesome extreme skateboarder "Hey Brah drink milk!" rad dude for the kids to be inspired by.
Jayden Evans
It's time we admit Andrew Garfield did nothing wrong.
Gavin Phillips
... Fucking what?
Why do you people actively refuse to read comics yet despite that insist on talking about them as if you had?
Liam Bell
>Mysterio is a former Stark Industries employee who was fired by Tony Stark and wants revenge by becoming the new Iron Man and usurping Stark's place as Earth's greatest hero.
That shit is just soul crushing enough for me to believe it as true.
Eli Foster
But that's not what you said. you said no more movies. You are still backpeddling like a faggot after being instantly proven hilariously wrong.
Elijah Morris
Who gives a fuck if he looks better as Spider-man if the whole character goes against everything Spider-Man is supposed to be?
And Raimi movies are campy as fuck, how did you even interpret that as "grimdark and edgy"?
Jose Stewart
No one in the MCU knows what movies they're doing. Gweneth Paltrow didn't know she was in Spider-Man Homecoming. Anthony Mackie didn't even know he was in Age of Ultron until he saw it. They just call them in, have them film in front of a green screen then send them home.
Is english your second language you illiterate dumbass? That isnt what i fucking said.
I said Iron Man 3 was the finale to the Iron Man mvoies because RDJ didnt want to continue with them. Thats literally what i said, you can go back and read it: We already know you're too stupid to count, so how about just admit you're wrong and cant read either.
Hudson Jones
>again, read a fucking comic casual
you should take your own advice, kid
Kevin Perry
actually he cried like a bitch in basically every scene. so ya, he did do wrong. lots of wrong
Carson Young
Garfield was actually not that bad, he got the look and feel down. It was his villains that were fucking terrible. and they largely ruined the movies with how bad they were.
5' 6" little bald fat guy Rhino Weird creepy stalker nerd Electro Angsty little school shooter emo Green Goblin Lizard was okay but his whole scheme was very 60s camp for the movie it took place in
Alexander Roberts
This is high IQ galaxy brain shit.
Uncle Bens murder was just ha ha funny laugh times. Gwen Stacy was ha ha funny laugh times. Almost drowning in Doc Ocks base was ha ha funny quips.
Yea except that is exactly what you said. and this is just pathetic now, give it up already. you fucked up, said something stupid, move the fuck on already.
Brandon Davis
>Person who never read Spider-Man comics tries to tell someone to go read Spider-Man comics Shocking.
Name the other 9 Iron Man movies then you absolute fucking smooth brained bug.
Because Iron Man 3 was the last one because RDJ didnt want to do more Iron Man movies. How is what i said wrong? How the fuck does that matter in the context of the Avengers movies and his cameo in Homecoming?
Jaxson Adams
He didn't want to make more Iron Man solo movies.
RDJ was one of the few cast members who actually knew exactly what he would be appearing in because of his expensive paychecks. Disney didn't wanna have to float "retaining fees" or any other bullshit like that, they sat him down and said "These are the things you're gonna be in for about this many minutes on screen."
Asher Carter
I remember that comedic storyline Kravens Last Hunt.
When Sergei blew his brains out because he no longer had any purpose in life, i was just rolling on the floor laughing!
When Spider-Man was breaking down after being buried alive for a week and fighting a cannibal, boy that was a hoot!
Ian Roberts
Don't even try, mate.
The kid has never read a comic book
Gavin Russell
Th3e fact that he continued top appear in movies as Iron Man after you said he did not want to play Iron Man any more.
Easton James
I DIDNT SAY HE DIDNT WANT TO PLAY IRON MANY ANYMORE, HECTOR GONZALEZ FUCKING SANADITO LOPEZ, GO BACK TO FUCKING SCHOOL IF ARGENTINA STILL FUCKING HAS ANY.
I SAID HE DIDNT WANT TO DO ANY MORE IRON MAN FILMS.
FILMS ABOUT IRON MAN.
IRON MAN ONE TWO AND THREE, HE DIDNT WANT TO DO A FOUR. THATS WHAT I SAID,
Anthony Moore
Just stop user, yoy will have better luck arguing woth a wall
Owen Scott
Holy fuck vertigo is crossing over to the mcu?
Gavin Hall
this gotta be the most hilarious and pointless discussion i've seen on this place
Nope, you said Iron Man didn't continue, and he did in like every single other MCU that ever existed
Easton Reyes
But that isnt what i said, i posted a screenshot of the post i made and that literally isnt what i said.
Also >he did in like every single other MCU that ever existed Avengers 2, 3, 4, Civil War, and Homecoming, thats 5 movies. Not all of the MCU movies, just five. Four were ensemble, one was a minor supporting role. Again you cant count.
Jayden Jenkins
user, stop!
You're hurting yoursefl!
John Richardson
The actual leak that's been confirmed in the past few days by accidental spoiler reviews says no Osborn in the movie or even hinted at.
Andrew Parker
What an intensely retarded thread
Justin Reyes
that's Yea Forums for you
Noah James
Absolutely NONE of those 5 movies put RDJ in a simple cameo.
Connor Powell
For fucks sake you ESL retard let me walk you through this.
I said OR. Ensemble OR borderline cameo. Avengers 2-4 and Civil War are ensemble. His role in Homecoming is a borderline cameo because he's in it for maybe 5 minutes total.
James Clark
you are really coming off as obsessed here
Evan Gonzalez
This retard seriously thinks the fucking Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies are "grimdark" and "edgy". my fucking sides
Obsessed for what? Correcting your retarded dumbass misintepretations of my posts?
Elijah Lee
Dude, just give up. The retard is not going to understand.
Evan James
Let's be honest here, you are trying a little too hard to pretend you were not very wrong about a hundred replies ago
Matthew Stewart
He's right
you are acting weirdly obsessed about this
Aiden Bell
The best part of this whole film seems to be
J.K Simmons back as JJ
Landon Garcia
>>>Teacher "Mr. Parker, while I appreciate your willingness to save lives, I rather have you focus on the assignment at hand." >And that's it. Dude, that's fucking retarded, no school would want to attract supervillains or shooters to their school because one kid wanted to play being hero.
Ryder Scott
>Marvel is not that retarded. Nebula is now Gamora "sister" and Star-Lord/Gamora will be canon, maybe not Marvel but its writers...
Luis Fisher
>But does he decide to take a greater leadership role in the Avengers or anything?
Considering there are no Avengers anymore(everyone either is dead retired or left and all their shit was blown up and their man bankroller is dead), and Peter is still younger compared to any surviving ones that's a definite no.
Caleb Murphy
Gotta wonder why anyone listen to Fury if he doesn't go to bat for Peter, he basically just fucked up Peter's life just to prove a point about Mysterio if this is true. If his identity is maintained its fine but otherwise?
Luke White
He lets him off because Spidey went out of his way at great personal risk to himself to save him despite him trying to kill him and being a direct threat to him. Which got him enough respect to not out him.
Which is the fucking core of Spidey and one of the things Homecoming nailed. Tony would have just let Vulture fry like he did for all his enemies.
Landon Jones
Vulture was in mortal danger BECAUSE of Spider-Man.
Adam Sullivan
Do you have proof
Noah Bell
So they'll do something similar as into the Spiderverse for the closing arc on Pete's story? Introduce Miles in some low key way for the next Spiderman movie and have Peter's death be memorable.
Aiden Peterson
Holland's still very young and easily has another decade plus of movies in him if Marvel can convince him to stay on.
No way their killing him when they just lost two of their major money makers.
Jeremiah Davis
>having JJJ learning Spider-Man's secret identity >when JJJ hasn't even met Peter
It's shit
Justin Bailey
>exposing his secret Identity to the world. neat next movie will be one more day and it will reboot the MCU
Caleb Ross
and peter doesnt die there he just retires so negro araña can take his place
Mason Evans
For most characters the secret identity doesn't matter all that much. It'd be a pisser to go public, but it wouldn't fundamentally change anything.
Peter's probably got the most significant dual identity in all of comics though, because almost everyone he interacts with has a separate relationship with Peter Parker and with Spider-Man.
Aaron Hernandez
Mephisto time.
Easton Bennett
>Another year of Back in Black >But it's now shitty and doesn't have any of the emotional impact This is some monkey paw shit if I've ever seen it
Adam Morgan
keanu reeves finaly will debut on mcu
Brayden Cruz
There's really no way to do their traditional relationship while Peter's still in school. Times have changed.
Joshua Fisher
>In the mid-credits scene, "someone" sends major media outlets doctored footage of the fight between Spider-Man and Mysterio, edited to make Spider-Man appear to be criminal Neat, not half ba- > and exposing his secret Identity to the world. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Nolan Butler
Why is it that every thread pertaining to MCU Spider-Man is complete garbage?
>Taking this literally >When it clearly means there needs to be another hero as selfless as the man who gave up his happy ending to give everyone else theirs. Are you pants on head retarded?
You stupid, reading-impaired fuck. Nice job ruining this thread.
Wyatt Anderson
And you really are coming off as someone lacking in even the most basic of reading comprehension skills. Dumbass
Jacob Powell
>Spider-Man appear to be criminal and exposing his secret Identity to the world. this one seems fake to me. if his identity is shown then this might go the ultimate route. But if skrull thing is true then it can be fixed with skrull invasion.
Elijah Watson
HE WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL FOR LIKE 28 ISSUES OUT OF THE 800 OF HIS MAIN BOOK THAT SPIDERTWINK JR SHIT ISNT FUCKING SPIDER-MAN
James Moore
ITT: Chavez from Columbia decided his ESL was good enough to argue semantics over.
Luke Garcia
whats original by exposing his Identity? All the avengers are mostly exposed and dont have a secret identity. If anything Spider-man is the ONLY avenger who has a secret identity now.
Xavier Foster
>*action* Eat shit.
Cameron Nelson
not that user but he is focusing on mannerisms and character acting. Not setting which I think you know. I know modernizing things can be shallow but we both know that the MCU is going to take some liberties here.
Xavier Lewis
next movie, Spider-man: Runaway from Home?
William Bennett
this is what children actually think. I want summer to end
John Garcia
children were raised by the raimi movies dont kid yourself.
Ethan Reed
Yeah but instead of taking liberties here and there they just shat on Spider-Man and put it on film. God why am I being so worked up over a shitty movie that everyone's gonna forget in 20 years? By that time hopefully we'll have a 90's accurate version of Spider-Man in one of these movies.
Angel Nelson
Fury never seems to give a shit about consequences as long as he gets the outcome he wants.
Mason Bailey
>90's accurate version there is your problem chief. 90s didnt define peter or spider-man as a whole. Spidey as you know has been around longer than that.
Landon Williams
I'm laughing reading this entire thread. Why do MCU Spider-Man threads always bring the biggest retards to the board?
>wants revenge by becoming the new Iron Man and usurping Stark's place as Earth's greatest hero Aren't people aware that Stark saved the entire fucking universe (or at least contributed to resurrecting half of it)? I don't think it's something you can top by beating up a bunch of monsters
Gabriel Wright
>God why am I being so worked up over a shitty movie Because we've already gone through two other versions of Spider-Man on the big screen. There are enough now for everyone to compare and pick a best that they'll defend beyond all sense and reason.
Tobey and Garfield were headlining in their own movie universes, so they didn't have to stand out very much as Peter. Tom has to compete with the already established MCU that has plenty of characters with strong personalities, so more work creating a distinct character went into the front end and a more vibrant character came out of the back end. Regardless of how you feel about the overall treatment Spidey gets in the MCU, he doesn't feel flat or out of place.
Hunter Green
>Think Spider-Man was a joke character >read a fucking comic casual This bait is so retarded that I almost got pee Holy shit
Kevin Turner
Because Mysterio's planning on engineering even bigger things that eventually might even top Tony's saving the universe given time.
This is only phase 1 of his plan. His plan isn't "I'll be a bigger hero than Ironman ever was by punching out 3 monsters" it's "I'll make my name as the current bigshot hero by punching out 3 monsters and then escalate from there until my fake heroics eventually top Stark"
Plus he tried to blame the monsters on Stark in the first place by claiming the Infinity Stones brought them over in the first place, so he might be trying to pin it as one final Stark colleteral damage fuckup that he gets to fix.
Juan Gray
God i fucking hope that leak about JK Simmons being JJJ again is true
Friendly reminder: This thread has been ruined because:
>That single motherfucker son of one thousand whores Retard who keep saying even bigger bullshit any time he had the chance. >The people who fell for his shit.
Stupidity should be a terminal decease.
Daniel Fisher
>like villains threatening his friends and family? holy shit genius
that's exactly what they'll have in a third movie
Angel Myers
>Welp earth based MCU is in the shitter.
wait till Shang-Kino comes out
Carter Murphy
>At least he won't have to wear the mask anymore I know Disney hates showing superheroes in masks but they wouldn't actually do this right?
Caleb Martinez
I suppose worst case scenario is that this portrayal of Spider-man and his world leaks back into the comics.
Isaac Russell
but claiming you're a hardcore fan and then citing Wikipedia verbatim is fucking cancer

>Spider-Tobe was school shooter tier I mean he wasn't but if he had then we really would have gotten our most accurate high-school Spider-man adaptation.

>Can someone explain the meteoric rise in absolute fucking retards who skim wikipedia articles and pretend they're deep lore motherfuckers with encyclopedic knowledge of comics in not just this thread but Yea Forums as of late?

>concots an elaborate fictional backstory about being a great hero from a parallel universe to manipulate Nick Fury THIS is the most stupid part. Lies work when they are simple and based on truth. Making up this elaborate backstory with lots of holes ("So, when are you gonna show us your dimension-travel tech?") to fool Nick motherfucking Fury is just asking for trouble.

God damn I had forgotten about this song but fuck yeah this is way better than the new theme.

WAY too heroic imo
I can tell the twist with just this song.

>unironically resorting to all caps NOT MUH
Jesus Christ, what the fuck happened to Yea Forums
They fall to retards like that too easy. I mean, we got two threads about this movie that literally got destroyed because of this.

>third spider-man reboot announced years ago >Yea Forums smugly jokes, "what, are we gonna see Uncle Ben die for the fourty-millionth time HAHAHA, what a fucking rehash! DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL!!" >MCU Spider-Man makes a deliberate effort to do new shit with Spidey and dodge away from well-treaded ground, even makes his first movie a low-stakes 'friendly neighborhood spider-man' movie that Yea Forums repeated as a meme opinion for what kind of spidey movie they wanted for literal years >now that this is actually happening, Yea Forums chimps out at things being different
Just because it's original it doesn't mean that it's good.

It is good though. In Homecoming, the low-stakes story was great and it was fun seeing Spidey swinging around Queens and suburban neighborhoods and places we've never seen him before like DC rather than just Manhattan again. Vulture was a great villain and Spidey being a fanboy of established heroes and wanting to join them is a good direction (considering his 616 history with established famous heroes like the FF) even if they did overdo it a little.
The only real problem with MCU Spidey is that they've expunged Uncle Ben from reality and to be honest I think the reason they did that was because the internet sarcastically memed specifically about Uncle Ben over and over and over again when the idea of a new reboot was being suggested. Even on normiebook it was a meme.
FFH hasn't come out yet but the idea of Peter trying to be spider-man in foreign countries whilst on a school trip is fresh and sounds like a fun concept and Mysterio has always been a fan favourite villain, even on this board going back to the time of ASM threads on here people ALWAYS wanted Mysterio and now he's in it and being played by a good actor with a sick costume.
I don't know what you fucks want other than seeing the same shit played out again, but then you'd just complain about that being a lazy hack rehash.
Tell me, if you want something new and this is trash, what new direction could they have taken Spidey that would have been good?

>Tell me, if you want something new and this is trash, what new direction could they have taken Spidey that would have been good? Make Peter an adult and have him be either a teacher or a freelance scientist and have him in a committed relationship with MJ or any other of his love interests for starters, keep the villains and Spidey as close as the comics as possible, just because it's part of the MCU doesn't mean that everything has to be connected. Keep the movies in New York and try to keep the friendly neighborhood feeling even if the stakes are high.
Just make it like ItSV, that was new, good and barely anyone complained.
>Spidey being a fanboy of established heroes and wanting to join them is a good direction Not really. >The only real problem with MCU Spidey is that they've expunged Uncle Ben from reality That's just one of the problems with MCU Spider-Man.
