ITT: Shows that will be the next Star Vs.
ITT: Shows that will be the next Star Vs
Shows that start off okay and then turn into absolute garbage?
There were predictions and just as expected, Amphibia is just another boring teen fantasy sitcom from the beginning. Owl House looks way more interesting but I fear it'll become another shitfest. But it's still early to say.
Amphibia already looks like shit, t b h.
havent you read the Olw House character description?
>Main girl is the most special ever and she doesnt need to change, the world need to change becuase only a special world can appreciate her
>Left
Absolutely not, too wacky
>Right
Possibly
It is comfy. Not great but not bad. Kind of bland. Nothing to get offended about either.
That's worse than being bad.
>comfy
>Nothing to get offended
I'm personally offended each time when a boring show try to pose itself as comfy.
meant to reply
But Luz is an orphan and regularly bullied. It's normal for her to seek shelter in a fantasy world.
I wouldnt call Amphibia comfy, when I think confy I think something more mellow like Hilda. Amphibia feels like an 2000s cartoon
owl house being another "I wrote that shit as a teen and I was totally into Sailor moon" kind of show makes it the most likely to shit the bed, Star vs style. Especially with you know who in charge.
>Amphibia feels like an 2000s cartoon
I know what you mean, it's because of the sidekick dynamics, right?
How so?
It is an ok show that you watch to kill time. Not something you shitpost for hours about because she hates white people or the character looks like a tranny.
Comfy is non offensive.
shes bullied cuz she a creep and instead of adressing that and making her learn to chill out and dont throw her weird shit at peoples faces, they going with with you were special all along and everyone else who needed to change, smell like Star vs to me
Hilda is super comfy. But amphibia seems like the show I could have watched with my sister when we were kids and cuddling together in the couch Friday night/sat morning.
>Shows that will be the next Star Vs.
The shit I'm about to take in my toilet.
But that's the exact audience, show literally begs the attendance of special snowflake Tumblr dykes who has an ankle moon tattoo and green/purple hair.
Amphibia seem more comparable to Gravity Falls, if anything
How so?
How is it you people are describing several girls I know.
Are you in college?
No, 29 working as IT for a music company.
Infinity Train will replace Steven Universe
Owl House will replace Adventure Time
Amphibia will replace Star vs. while following in Gravity Falls's footsteps
I don't see Infinity Train replacing SU unless it also has songs and other such stuff. It seems more like AT than anything.
I hate how she can’t yell. It’s just the same gruntled AAAHH! The voice actor has no range.
Subtle post, almost missed that. Good Job.
I like wander and bud gleeful cameos.
I'm so fucking disappointed in Amphibia, I thought it would be fun but it's nothing but "gee what plot can we make next that has been done in every average show about a family already?"
all of the good shows listed in this thread started out as slice-of-life worldbuilding episodes, and then they developed more interesting serial stories
no guarantee amphibia will get better but I'm willing to give it a shot.
Beginnings are normally cliche before the audience becomes hooked and they can develop their own flavour. We already have an Ann having abusive friends and being abusive herself brewing.
Amphibia is only okay at the moment and not as good everyone here seems to think it is. It's kind of lazy and takes the easy way out with long and tired episode plots like the getting famous one yesterday. It also seems to think screaming is humor which is something I've never understood.
Owl House just looks like shit and it's made by Alex Hirsch's bitch so it's a hard pass for me.
>it's made by Alex Hirsch's bitch so it's a hard pass for me.
You sound like you have a personal issue about this subject instead of making an objective (or at least less personal) opinion about it.
I wish I had never discovered Yea Forums it ruins everything for me, I was just searching for porn when I stumbled on /gif/ in fact I dont even like Anime.
>Amphibia is only okay at the moment and not as good everyone here seems to think it is
Nobody thinks it is that great though. Ok+ at best.
The entire tone of the show is complete ripoff of GF, from the Simpsons-esque character designs to the tiny notes of music each time after a character makes a joke. It's not as funny as GF though, it's just using the type of comedic style on autopilot.
Time to rip the band-aid off, people.
Neither of those shows will be shit tho
Maybe, but unlike star vs., Amphibia didn't destroy the potential for overarching arcs in the first episode
how-so? at this point in Star was the Mewberty episode. do you think that's a fair measurement of the overall quality of the later seasons?
I was just talking about the first episode.
In the first episode of star vs, they get attacked by monsters, and after defeating them, they just let them leave, instead of capturing them, or star calling her mom, which would be the logical thing to do.
Risking the wand this way, in the first episode, where is supposed to set up the show dynamic, make hard to take anything serious later on.
But you are right in the sense that you can't judge the later seasons for that, they have their own bigger problems.
Instead, just talking about the first episode of Amphibia, everything in it make sense in the in-universe logic. So if they try to add a serious story arc in the future, they can without contradicting this first episode. They even set up one of Ann human friends at the end.
because I do
Tell that to the fags in the main thread.
>Risking the wand this way, in the first episode, where is supposed to set up the show dynamic, make hard to take anything serious later on.
I don't think there was anything super special in SVtFOE by episode 6 that would signal all the cool stuff later on. I'd say it was the end of season 1 that really got me hooked.
Amphibia has good artwork and reasonably decent writing so far. I'm sticking around to see if the same thing happens in the next 10ish episodes.
SCAFF OFF! Amphibian is Rick and Morty for KIDS!
>isekaishit is spreading to the west
What if I've never seen Sgt. Frog?
>t. Loud House fag
No no this is how it works.
Season one is mostly okay to bland, coasting mostly on people being horny for the main teen girl.
Then there is ONE really good episode somewhere in the early middle season that hooks people for one reason or another. Then a few more typical epsiodes before ending the seaon on a faily strong note.
Season two is the good one where the writers hit their stride and the threads go full autistic hype train after getting themselves worked up over the hiatus. At least two fetish based alternate fan universes are created and eventually banished to trash.
Hiatus two hits and everyone gets themselves insanely hyped for dumb shit. Threads started getting deleted.
Then the season three hits and everyone has a reason too be mad. Plotline will get dragged out longer then they should. Character development stagnates or backslides completely. Jokes just arn't as good ect ect. This is where the fun stops. No one is happy.
So jump ship after season two.
Got it.
Personally I'm here for the inevitable First Hiatus Fetish Based AU's. I wonder what they will be.
>Season one is mostly okay to bland, coasting mostly on people being horny for the main teen girl.
Of all the current girls, she seems the least sexualized.
I'll break it down for you.
>Frog-like aliens land on earth to invade it
>The leader, Keroro, is captured by Japanese children whom he ends up befriending.
>Keroro ends up becoming a member of the family. Doing chores around the house in exchange for living in the basements.
>Early episode plots deal with Keroro searching for his squadmates; who were scattered across the area. One of which is a tadpole.
There are more similarities, but these are the strongest.
>comfy
Another word for shir
>Shir
Elaborate
this guy cartoons
He of course means "Shir", a derivative of the word "Schyre" which in the old times meant "bright". What user is saying is that comfy shows are bright and will be the next step in making shows that will engage and inspire audiences.
Or maybe he's saying that these shows are the visual equivalent of a lightbulb and we're just moths.
>spoiler
That is actually a rather accurate description of how I feel about Amphibia. Something better should come along eventually though.
>Absolutely not, too wacky
What!? What the fuck have you been smoking man?
Amphibia has been way more grounded and less randumb than Star vs.
Don't forget the cute brown girl
Aaaaaand Amphibia went full Gravity Falls tonight.
What’s with the brown girls? Can’t be Star if you got diversity checkbox girl protagonist.
Fuck you, amphibia will be good
but it's not.
It’s pretty good so far?
>ANOTHER Gravity Falls clone
>ANOTHER Star Vs clone sooner or later
Both are going to flop.
Looks like Infinity Tranny wins on principal
You may hate it but you need the raw discorce. The plastic conversations on all the popular social platforms may seem appealing at first but they sterilize your soul.
Amphibia try to be AT owl house gravity falls
That's my bad for judging it via the concept then I guess.
I see a lot of easy to read comedy that never catches me off guard and probably wouldn’t for many kids either.
That last episode about getting famous, at the end when the mayor starts going off at Anne in revealing is true intentions in front of the crowd, that material was the most overused piece I could think of. In the Simpsons they spiced it up by having the audience stupidly agree with the Mayor, in amphibia they could have had the townsfolk day something like “ Yeah! Now how is he supposed to win the election?!”, and then start throwing things at Anne. It’s creek but it reenforces the message home that they were going on about.
>dumb tribal wars
>on Yea Forums
fuck of HxHfag, this will not work there.
Star Vs was always garbage.
>GF has a plot-important book
>Star Vs has a plot-important book
>Amphibia now has a plot-important book
Any bets that Owl House will also have a plot-important book?
Pic unfortunately not related.
>Infinity train
>Not replacing AT
C'mon user it's obvious
desu i had more fun with the SOL episode of amphibia compared to tangled. The aimed for little girls theme of tangled really rubs me the wrong way
