Toonami will be rerunning episode 135 of HxH this Saturday. After that it’s gone for good.
Gundam: The Origin replaces HxH at 3am. Yea, the last slot on the block, right where this boring crap belongs.
TPN ends this week, and in true retarded Demarco fashion, it is Tuesday and we don’t know what, if anything, will replace it.
Last week was a mess, AoT dumped 36% of the audience, and Lupin managed to lose to four(4) shows after it. This week, after a little over a 3 year run, HxH aired its final episode. It’s final night was pretty weak. The rest of the night was down from last week. The growth MHA was showing as the lead has ceased. Lupin managed to only get dabbed on by Chadsta this week.
Expect it nearly every week. Bort and Naruto may do it now and then. Boredum will never do it
Carter Miller
>everyone just gave up on HxH on the final episode Really couldn’t stick it out 22 more minutes?
Evan Garcia
>maybe, the real hunter x hunter was the friends we made along the way
I'm sorry I stuck it out
Jacob Lewis
I'm convinced DeMarco picked up Lupin to make the other - less steller performing shows - look better in comparison. And it also helps him refute anyone asking for non-shonen shows.
Christian Bell
Shhh, keep it down If Yea Forums hears us we'll never hear the end of "HURRRR FILTERED BRAINLETS"
>The MHA episode with the naked lady makes ratings go up. >Regular episode goes back down.
DeMarco refuses to see it, but we all know the reason.
Angel Gomez
How many years until most of the ratings have 1s in front of them?
Adam James
Fuck man, I actually miss this line-up The one we have isn't comfy at all
Thomas Perry
>Attack on Titan kills the ratings again. Yup, the hype has without a doubt died.
Jose Reed
It likely will never be allowed to get that bad
Jason Allen
It’s almost the same fucking lineup minus some reruns and in a different order
Evan Wilson
Yeah I miss all the comfy shitposting about FLCL and PTE too user
Alexander Gomez
>it is now Tuesday >TPN ends Saturday >we don’t know what’s replacing it Why is this incompetent moron still in charge of anything at AS? Even if TPN isn’t being replaced and the block is condensing, why the fuck don’t we know?
I have to say that if it’s the distributors still causing problems, they shouldn’t be allowed to do things like this. I don’t like how Toonami is the one paying for the shows yet the distributors are the ones not allowing them to do promotion in an ample time and have all the control. They literally said they are afraid to upset anyone or the shows will be taken away. They don’t get to air them for free so I don’t see how this works
That’s like me telling my boss that I’ll decide whether or not I’m working next week- I know you have other employees you have to schedule around me, but if you really want me, you’ll wait or I won’t work at all ever again.
Like the previous poster said: if they can’t/aren’t going to air a new show, what’s with the schedule holdup?
Jace James
Ratings are down because cable is considered to be dinosaur media, and lots of distributors want their own streaming site to compete with Netflix. Demarco, Funimation and Viz are competing for the same niche audiences
Christopher Bennett
>muh distributors This excuse gets old fast. Especially when it’s happening on nearly every show in recent times. It’s just a way for Demarco to pass off his fuckup onto someone else.
Remember last year we were supposed to get a new show in January that “the distributor” held up, and we never got it despite promise we would
Huh, not sure what to make of it. Feels kinda weird that HxH is gone off the air now, especially since I haven't watched it live since the timeslot change. Also weird to see it lose to both Boruto and Naruto, but whoever owned that Nielsen box just gave up the ghost I guess.
Is it still Chad Clover when the show before it stands no chance of beating it whatsoever? At least Jojo could (and did) beat Black Clover sometimes.
Yes, it’s a testament to what a powerhouse it is, despite constant mistreatment by le faggit man
Nolan Flores

Ryder Jackson
>biskin BISK'ED
>The Promised Neverland - June 29, 2019 Mom goodness intensifies that night.
Gundam replaces HxH, something replaces TPN, then something replaces SAO, followed by something replacing AOT. In August, MHA runs out, so we'll need something for that.
Big shifts are coming, provided he doesn't fuck it up.
One day, he'll move BC to either 1 or 12:30.
Luis Barnes
>One day, he'll move BC to either 1 or 12:30. I don't hold high hopes for this even if I want it to happen. The loud minority online are too noisy.
Dominic Price
I think we can all admit that My Hero Academia isn't very good
Chads gonna be in a tournament arc for the next little while. The general audience loves that shit
Easton Davis
Yeah I’m sick of it too.
It literally makes no sense why a distributor would want to not promote s show
Benjamin Allen
I can't stand shonen shit but mha takes the cake. I really hate the audience it has to, nothing but the worst of cape shit fans and anime.
Levi Brown
Because of the chaos they caused with the April schedule, their screaming likely won’t hold the same weight anymore
Liam Gomez
>big shifts are coming All of which we will only learn about days beforehand
Andrew Rivera
>I can't stand shonen shit why are you here?
Joseph Miller
>check the Facebook >scheduled post for the day is the TPN promo we have seen plenty of at this point 3 days to go before we are flying completely blind
Huh, thought the anime would've showed that Ging throws his license away, but it's a fitting end and leaves some wiggle room for if/when Togashi gets off his ass and continues to write.
Brody Price
False hope that Toonami moves away from shonenshit because they have zero reason to need to rely on it since they are on AS
Evan Bennett
That isn’t going to work considering people called out Lupin itself being the failure point before it even started. If he tries lumping in all non shonen with Lupin, he will get called out.
Easton Reed
cable was still pretty dead in 2017 yet we saw ratings in the millions
Luke Thomas
Hero into Super: GAIN 37.0% Super into Titan: Lose 39.9% Titan into Neverland: Lose 21.5% Neverland into SAO: GAIN 4.4% SAO into Lupin: Lose 18.2% Lupin into Clover: GAIN 9.4% Clover into Boruto: Lose 12.1% Boruto into Naruto: Lose 6.7% Naruto into Hunter: Lose 10.0% Out with a whimper
“Want to see what’s airing?? Gotta tune in live to find out!!”
Andrew Ross
He's been trying to do that as far back as when Toonami got revived. He tried to keep Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins under wraps until the night of, but FUNimation forced him to reveal them the Tuesday before.
Kayden Bailey
Apologizing ahead of time for the upcoming saturday.
Hudson Diaz
I hated it until I read the manga which I actually really enjoyed. The faster pace makes it way less tedious and the art looks more unique.
Liam Ortiz
>new That’s been his goal since the start. Did you forget how assblasted he got that Soul Eater and Parasyte were leaked ahead of time? He wants the lid on shit for as long as possible even though it just pisses everyone off.
Brayden Lee
>viewership down so far has to literally trick people into watching his terrible pickups Sounds right
Adam Brown
Fine if he wants to do that (why anyone would do that on purpose baffles me) but how about at least let us know something is coming but you don’t want to say what it is.
Easton Brown
Oh I remember, that damn food truck ruined his plans.
Why he would be secretive about Soul Eater, which really wasn’t a new show or a new dub makes no sense
Kayden Lee
It would still be the same number of people tuning in.
Remember with any new show, the average dumb viewer goes: “Where Goku?? I want see fight now!”
Ryder Baker
Well, that was also back in the day when simuldubs didn’t exist, so show pickups were more on equal footing. I still remember his reaction >soul eater leaks >he finds out >what the fuck guys stop using the backdoor schedules and just let us do the reveals when we are ready He is so out of touch and clearly has never shown signs of getting it together
Austin Powell
I mean, people would still have to tune in to see what the show is, the mystery would drive the viewership up, for the first week at least.
I’ll be so fucking glad when Super is over so we can get this tumor and it’s viewers off the block
Ian Sullivan
Here's hoping Faggit Man comes to his senses
Leo Butler
They kinda did, at Momocon they said they have two more shows to announce. We are well beyond the given timeframe though.
One of the big issues with that is they lie so god damn much it’s hard to believe such vague promises
Thomas Young
He’s desperate for the old way of TV to make a comeback that he’s unwilling to embrace change.
What’s weird is that back in the old days we would know of show pickups (Gundam, Tenchi, Outlaw, ect..) MONTHS ahead of time with premiere dates.
He must think this builds some kind of hype when it just doesn’t
Imagine if we knew the Mob 2 dub would be airing this summer or fall. That actually gives the viewer a chance to make an informed choice on whether to stream it now or wait. Instead we’ll find out the week it airs probably after most people have streamed it
Luke Russell
>implying he wasn’t part of the problem The original schedule was ordered by ratings prowess + future slot swaps, presumably for the rest of the year. Demarco saw his pet Jojo ratings pit at the end of the night, and likely used the assrage on Facebook to influence its change.
The schedule department has clearly put their foot down considering they have already deathslotted Gundam
Carter Reyes
At this point it’s almost like they intentionally want to delay the announcement and do stall tactics because the distributors want to announce at AX (I don’t think they themselves will be there)
Which is stupid
Jackson Richardson
You do realize without Super singlehandedly keep Toonami alive with its ratings, AT&T would drop the block in a heartbeat? I don't know what you think Toonami is or should be and what it should try to accomplish but at the end of the day action anime brings the ratings. Not your sissy gay shit. It's the truth, America is never going to get into your sissy emo shit anime and if they did, a random block on a kids network in the middle of the night isn't going to move the cultural needle.
I was kind of alluding to the fact that the average viewer doesn’t give a shit about anything not DB or a show that doesn’t have wall to wall fighting.
TPN has been a fantastic watch every week with the mystery, planning, and suspense. Yet, I’ve seen plenty of the average viewers complaining about how “boring” it is because it lacks action.
This is why we can’t have nice things
Jeremiah Nelson
Remember that one time where DeMarco asked everyone on Twitter what kind of shows they want to see in the future and most of the shows people listed were ones that already aired in the past or currently airing on the block?
What I'm trying to say here is that was fucking funny.
Jacob Allen
Super isn’t keeping shit alive. Dragontards turn the TV on when Super starts, and turn it off when it ends
William Edwards
They can’t for the TPN replacement. I do expect the SAO replacement to be revealed at AX though.
That said, if we get a second stall tactic for next week, then you are right and it is being held for AX. Which is so stupid I can almost see it happening
Ian Evans
You can’t go a week on the FB without people asking
“When you guys bring back the GOOD shows like Gundam Wing, Yu Yu, Trigun”
Lol, it’s hilarious when he asks that and someone responds with something they JUST aired.. proving they don’t watch the block
Ayden Ortiz
DeMarco should have kept his word and kept Dragon Ball off the block. He said he wanted a Toonami that didn't need to survive off of Dragon Ball and now he screwed over the block because it's an open secret that DB fans aren't all anime fans.
Asher Butler
she died on the boat
Samuel Sanchez
Remember when he also ignored all the genuine suggestions and got Boruto when he said no more long runners?
Sebastian Richardson
and this was the hypest ep of AoT in a long while
cant help but feel its only downhill from here
Cameron Ortiz
I literally recall someone asking DeMarco for Megalo Box when it was still fucking airing. It makes me wonder why these people are even requesting these shows when they don't even watch the goddamn block.
Landon Thompson
>Family Guy watchers are actually willing to give MHA a chance Reminder that while it doesn’t beat it, having MHA ahead of Super has done nothing but improve its performance
Logan Mitchell
The fact something on the block is getting .3 ratings is doing the block favors. Boku no Pico sure or shit like that wouldn't draw anything CLOSE to the same ratings. I like how you ignored the rest of my post because you know deep down it's true. America doesn't like your sissy anime shit get that through your head. If any show artsy fartsy show you like got put in Super's slot it would draw less than .15 and you know it. From there the block would get dropped faster than people changing the channel from Super once it's over
Zachary Lee
I really wish when had footage of that con reaction of the audience losing their hype when he announced it.
Sebastian Young
It’s a penis extension for fans >oh yea my favorite show aired on Toonami hell yea! That’s all they want. They don’t want to commit X amount of weeks to actually watch it
Jordan Smith
Remember how we all assumed that Gundam would replace TPN and HxH would be replaced with a rerun?
Maybe THEY thought that too until programming told them that Gundam is airing at 3 and they don’t care how much people cry about it
Meanwhile, they STILL haven’t worked out the 2 new shows and they have nothing ready. Hence the silence and probable stall techniques.
I bet that the 2 mystery shows are being held for AX and always were intended to replace SAO and Titan. They probably didn’t think they’d need one of them to air at midnight on 7/6 because they thought Gundam would air there
Elijah White
I remember arguing with someone on Reddit saying that shows like Sailor Moon Crystal shouldn’t air because they e already been streamed to death and anyone asking for them have probably already watched them
“Just because a lot of people have seen them doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to air on the block!”
It’s just a fucking trophy
Lucas Gray
I have to wonder, considering the way that the previous episode ended, if a percentage of the viewers weren't aware there was still one more episode. I know some anons in the Saturday threads seemed to be oblivious.
Sebastian Green
You aren’t getting the point dumbfuck. All Super does is bring ratings for ONE slot. Those numbers do absolutely nothing for the shows around them. Toonami Ratings will not get any worse when Super leaves the block, because it has zero influence on it
Brody Sanders
That’s bevause it takes them a few minutes to see that the guy with the green hair isn’t Goku
Gabriel Morgan
While I don’t doubt scheduling wants Gundam as far down the night as possible, I also doubt they would cause a problem like that, considering they have to deal with the fallout
Easton Thomas
>they need to do this every single week I know DB fans are retards, but I doubt it’s that bad
Ian King
>Be Dragonfag. >See Dragon Ball Whatever the Fuck coming up. >Listen to Youtube-tier dubbed opening. >Watch Goku fight whoever the fuck for multiple episodes while the show is trying to trick you to believe Goku's days are numbered even though you should already this nigga is not going to lose unless it's going to be a convenient way to get stronger. >Characters react to Goku getting a new powerup that triggers Vegeta. >Gohan jobs, shocking everyone. >Goku beats whoever the fuck with a Kamehameha and everyone is in awe while a horribly dubbed track plays that is poorly mixed because Funimation. >Fucking lose your shit and go "YOOOOOOOOO!". >Show ends, listen to another awful track that is dubbed. >See gay anime shit coming up next. >Face cringes and says "Yeah, fuck that shit!" >Change the channel.
This is the future DeMarco chose for this block.
Alexander Clark
Maybe, it is a big fucking drop, the kind that looks like people didn’t set the DVR
Benjamin Jones
How dumb can you be? Even though it has no positive impact on the rest of the block, it's still the highest performing show in the block. Right now Toonami is seen by AT&T as being carried by a golden turd in pool of regular shit. If Toonami didn't have that golden turd and had all >.15 turds, the block would be dropped. Do you want Toonami to have all shit ratings or carried by a show that keeps the block alive?
Id rather the block be cancelled than be propped up by this dreck and it’s mouthbreathing fans
Dominic Hernandez
I think that after Lupin bombed, they realized what would happen if Gundam was high up and realized it would be the same type of problem. I still think that they probably originally wanted to have Gundam in the midnight hour before scheduling stepped in
That being said, it’s also very possible that the assumed it wouldn’t take this long to get a show cleared and if it needed to air 2 weeks earlier than originally thought- it really shouldn’t be this complicated. But for whatever reason it is.
Henry Ward
It was probably lies, but they said at the con that they had the promos and everything ready for both shows. If that’s not a lie, I can’t imagine what the holdup is. AS has to have SOME swing in the matter, enough to not let them delay a week to jerk themself off at a con at least
Asher Nelson
It all started when they got Naruto
But at least those fans tend to watch other things (except Boruto of course)
Thomas Kelly
Toonami themselves won’t be there but I can see a distributor actually wanting to do this.
Wyatt Thomas
>But at least those fans tend to watch other things (except Boruto of course)
the great irony of our age
Hudson Martinez
Unfortunately for you, you won't get to see this play out because Dragon Ball Super is here to stay past October. By the time the show ends its initial run in October, the new season of Super will begin airing in Japan. It returns in July 2019 after Dragon Ball Super Broly made $100 fucking million worldwide.
I guaran-fucking-tee you DeMarco's biggest announcement from this year's Comic Con is that he got Super's new season locked up.
Here’s another scenario >Demarco gets another Gundam no one wants to watch >Demarco expects this to air before 1 >scheduling department throws their arms up in frustration as they have now had to slot 3 Gundam series that have all tanked the block >put it at a non negotiable 3am because literally anything else will do better as the replacement to TPN >to be a petty, Demarco sits on the other show as long as possible to attempt to sabotage its performance Demarco is the king of petty shit, so I don’t put this past him at all
Jayden Campbell
That’s what I meant >we need to air this next week >lmao bruh air something else next week so we can tug our dicks in front of a con crowd
Zachary Edwards
But Super isn’t confirmed to come back and July is a week away. >Demarco >any influence over where DB content airs The only way we get it is if Toei is willing to settle on this block again.
Jack Moore
>Broly Gee, I hope something related to the Broly movie dub doesn’t interfere with the speed of future DB anime dubs :^)
Grayson Wright
He doesn’t know why people won’t love this
“It’s essential viewing for the hardcore UC Gundam fans”- this weeks Preflight
“But the animation is so gorgeous!!”
Grayson Parker
Honestly the only way we’ll get this fast is if it’s literally more episodes and not a new series. If it’s the latter we’ll have to do the whole song and dance again where they talk to everyone else before AS
Meanwhile Funimation is doing their best to convince them to let them premiere it on their site and keep it away from Toonami
Dylan Murphy
>Meanwhile Funimation is doing their best to convince them to let them premiere it on their site and keep it away from Toonami
whats funny is this is the exact reason toei wont give it to them. toei demands the show to be easily accessible to children, and a niche weaboo streaming service doesnt cut it
Michael Ramirez
Toei doesn’t want any overlap with the Japanese run either, or at least a sizeable gap. I doubt they allow a simuldub. Plus there’s and Toei has already made it clear they want this associated with DB as little as possible, so they probably won’t let a dub even start until the case is settled and some time has passed so whoever loses has time to find something else to be mad about
Owen Morgan
>a streaming service available to all doesn’t cut it >a programming block in the dead of night intended for adults is fine though
Logan Nelson
>available to all but nobody has ever heard of it or >cable tv at 8pm on a channel everyone gets
hmmmm
Nicholas Lewis
The day Toei allows simuldubs is the day we're free from this prison of Saturday night.
Ryan Edwards
That’s another thing, watch them try that 8pm bullshit one more time.
Adrian Perry
How does one get a Neilson box? Is it easy?
Ian Lee
>wanting to be tracked Brainlet
Ian Price
Oh right, I forgot about the rerun at 8 they are doing. That’s not as bad, still funny a showed aimed at preteens can only find a home on AS
Xavier Brown
So you just...win if you choose Saitama right?
Jack Reyes
Considering AS is the only cable network who will touch the show, they have the push needed to not allow this. Considering they already stopped it once, I’d say they won’t let it happen again
James Price
Like this user said, MHA's manga is so much easier to swallow than the anime when we can see Horikoshi's style in full force. Bless the anime it tries but it just doesn't quite get the charm of the manga.
William Richardson
This wouldn't have been so bad if they aired Golden Wind instead!
Caleb Green
Oh yea, 4 Jojo ratings pits just weren’t enough, were they?
Isaac Carter
Truly these were dark times
Matthew Rivera
Toonami's viewership has fallen far sharper than many other cable blocks', this is mainly a response to demarco fucking up the block with terrible shows and creating the current no-win situation. He chased off everybody that was willing to watch new shows by pandering to nostalgiafags and shounenbabbies, and now those are the only people keeping the block alive, so when he tries to do something that isn't nostalgia or shounen they don't watch it and ratings tank.
Aiden Sanchez
>It returns in July 2019 Lol no, it's not scheduled anywhere nor have any PVs been released for it. Super is still cancelled.
Josiah Bell
Remember when Sentai were practically begging him to put stuff on the block, but he went for the DBZ audience instead?
Cameron Watson
hunter x hunter had a fucking weird ending.. the whole chimera ant thing is just like 'eh nah, we're done' and stops.. and then this election thing happens, which was also nothing I mean I love it, but I've been watching for about a year and a half. I can't imagine what it was like for people watching in real time sorry, what's this? tits were on the air?
Caleb Morales
>hardcore UC Gundam fans Yeah because Toonami is just brimming with hardcore gundam fans these days right?
Easton Nguyen
eh? I like this lupin a lot better than the last one. It has a cute loli.
Robert Wilson
I knew the block was doomed once Naruto was added. That shit violated every single precept of what new Toonami was supposed to be about, but Demarco picked it up because he's a huge narutard.
Henry Taylor
She isn't a loli, she's just jailbait.
Bentley Martin
hey if I'm gonna get called a pervert and have my life ruined for calling 17 year olds attractive, what's the point of euphemizing?
Thomas Brooks
I thought Dragon Ball coming back was what solidified this block's demise.
Justin Watson
>Do you want to have sex with me Lupin? That was fucking golden
Justin Richardson
DBZ has always held an exceptional status on Toonami and in the west. I was not happy to see DBZ come back, it was a bad omen, but it could still be recoverable because DBZ is exceptional. But Naruto? There's no coming back from that.
Adrian Cook
She's not a loli regardless of legal status. Also she's probably legal since this Lupin is set in France where the age of consent is 15.
Liam White
Dragon Ball is considered poisonous because its audience greatly differs from the other shows. DeMarco once promised the show wasn't going to return and broke it and look where we are now.
To me, it all started with Dragon Ball and don't even hate Dragon Ball.
Luis Bailey
What people think on the internet think of Lupin doesn’t really matter to the people DeMarco has to justify his decisions to.
Joshua Sanders
HxH was the point of no return. That was when everyone accepted this is the Shonen Block. I remember the reactions in the threads once it was announced. Nothing but defeat.
Austin King
yes.. yes it was.
Blake Baker
I think the ratings are my fault. After MHA, I have to go to bed. I have work on Sundays
Reminder that nothing can save the block at this point.
Brandon Hughes
If you look at it another way, the Election Arc is just the coming down from the CA Arc as far as action and suspense goes.
The manga continues on from there and things get interesting.
Ethan Lewis
By the time HxH came on there was already like 4 shounens on the block, how the fuck is that the point of no return when the block clearly had spiraled out of control long before then? Naruto was A) old as dirt B) not available in 16:9 and C) not in keeping with the block's new adult audience shift. It tripped all 3 red flags that Demarco normally would've thrown for any other show, but because it was Naruto he pulled it in and made it okay to bring in more shows that fell afoul of those same problems.
Jack Garcia
Hopefully those people will see Lupin has always been a ratings abyss
Christian Green
HxH was when the block went from part shonen to pay the bills, to full blast shonen spam. I don’t disagree with Naruto, but HxH was a huge, late game hit.
The cancellation of One Piece was a brief glimmer of hope that faded by years end
Zachary Carter
>hunter x hunter had a fucking weird ending Probably because it's not the ending. The manga is still going, and the election arc was just a small interlude / segue into the next big story arc that had only just started when the anime was in production. So they ended the anime with the last complete story arc rather than adapt the beginning of the next arc and then have to wait or do fillers like naruto and one piece do.
Kevin Parker
I don't know why you insist on blaming Naruto for all the problems on the block when we had loads that brought it to ruination. It was just among many of DeMarco picks that set off red flags and made Toonami the Shonen Network.
Noah Lewis
Toonami would not be airing 9 other premieres if Super was all that made the block sustainable.
I agree Super has been important but it’s not the primary reason the rest of Toonami airs. They can and have aired DBS and Kai outside of Toonami and would only be airing them and no other anime if the rest of Toonami didn’t accomplish something as well.
Nicholas Thomas
What the fuck? It was already full on shounen spam by then, how the fuck do you see DBZ, Naruto, One Piece etc and not go "well this is obviously acceptable and not the block going into a nosedive"
William Robinson
HxH was the show that told us shounen was going to be the norm.
Joshua Sullivan
Because it was the first super shit pick he did that made it okay to bring in One Piece, to bring in HxH, to bring in Super and Black Clover and all the trash. Naruto did not belong on Toonami on Adult Swim, it had no business ever airing, yet he brought it in anyway.
Camden Hall
????
Naruto, One Piece, and DBZ were already on the block by then, the fuck are you talking about?
Alexander Williams
Because those three were wildly popular and had high demand. When DeMarco started putting shows on because they have the same background as those three was when the train started to derail off the tracks. I'm defending DB, OP, and Naruto being chosen, but most of us thought it would just be them and that's it.
Matthew Baker
3 of like 8 slots isn’t that bad. HxH was the tipping point that put us at half. Then came Jojo, and Super and whatever other shit. When it was just OP, Naruto and DBZ, people didn’t expect Demarco to pick up literally every Jump trash show like they do now
Jace Roberts
Did One Piece come in after or before Naruto?
Parker Wood
>Because those three were wildly popular and had high demand. Obviously not since stacking the block with this trash caused most of the viewers to bail. And besides it doesn't change what I said: Naruto completely contradicted all the criteria Demarco had set up for Toonami shows going forward, it was the first major sign the block was compromised.
Jonathan Walker
>3 of like 8 slots isn’t that bad. What the fuck? It's fucking terrible to have nearly half the block taken up by shows that should not even be airing on the block, period.
Bentley Powell
>When it was just OP, Naruto and DBZ, people didn’t expect Demarco to pick up literally every Jump trash show like they do now Except that's exactly what I expected. If you didn't expect it it just shows you're incredibly naive.
Daniel Johnson
Let's just be honest here, everyone expected those shows to return to the block. I bet DeMarco got spammed requests 24/7. No one expected DeMarco to just start picking up the next hottest Shonen he sees and add them.
Christian Scott
Well unless there's some mechanic for him that forces him to hold back, or some other balancing method, probably. I haven't seen any of the trailers or read anything about it, so I don't know what they're doing. >tits I think that was referring to the Lady Pope taking her clothes off and fondling herself.
William Turner
What are these other cable blocks you speak of? By my observation, Toonami has declined less than a great many cable premieres. They could probably actually do worse and stay 4-5 hours.
Adrian Gonzalez
Toonami had to have SOME recognizable content. Naruto was a poor first choice I’ll admit, but not a surprisingly one. Here’s the difference >Naruto? Ehh I don’t like where this is going but the block still has plenty of room to work with Bonus round - this was 2012 when the future of the block was still uncertain >HxH? Another fucking long runner to go with the 3 we already have? What are they thinking? This was 2016, when the block was long past the need to establish anchor content to prevent early project cancellation
Gabriel Hill
At least they are showing the best episode of Hunter x Hunter
Ayden Bennett
Really enjoying this new Lupin more than the last 1 and no surprise the shounen audience hates it. At least I get my weekly Pops.
After. They got Naruto, then Soul Eater, then One Piece.
Bentley Sullivan
Requests for HxH and JoJo were numerous. DeMarco didn’t have to listen to them but I still feel the block ended up going down this path because demand for more shounen persisted even after Toonami committed to 3 shounen that would air for years. 4 didn’t stop them. 5 didn’t stop them. At 6 they still begged for MHA. It basically wasn’t until Boruto that an announcement for another JUMP shounen was met with anything but massive applause at a convention panel.
Jack Flores
I saw multicolored bars on Adult Swim and I'm unsure if it was my signal or a fuck up on their end.
Jose Phillips
AS has been having minor issues for months now. We had Black Clover go to bars for about 10 seconds a few months ago, so I’d say it was likely on their end
Kayden Gray
I just learned the father of kittytoe's VA was a super respected voice actor. I knew about the guy but just now made connection. Weird.
Asher Peterson
I'm gonna be the one to say it and I don't care if it makes some people mad, but HxH was a victim of unfortunate timing. If the dubbing rights owner before Viz didn't sit on the rights for two years until after the show was over and didn't allow Viz to strike when the iron was ice cold, HxH probably would have done better on the block. If HxH came to Toonami in 2014 around the end of the series and at the 2011 anime's peak popularity(during the final eps of the CA arc it overtook Shippuden's spot on the CR homepage), the general reception from the Toonami community and viewers would have been more positive. Since HxH still would have been considerably niche but well-regarded the Toonami fanbase wouldn't have been too skeptical of it at first because there wouldn't be 2 years worth of overhyped expectations. It also would have been fresh enough to catch weekly since it would only be streaming on Crunchyroll at the time, and streaming wasn't as big as it is now. The one issue though is that there would have been five long-runners on the schedule and post-cut 2015 would have been as bloated as 2016, but on the upside we would have been finished with Hunter in 2016 instead.
David Reed
You probably aren’t wrong. One of the worst battles HxH had to fight was literal years of its fanboys jerking off the CA arc. Even before it started on the block or was even announced. Then we get to it, and newcomers find out it’s an overly narrated slog with maybe 5 hype moments that are completely nullified by the snail pace to get to them
Carter Phillips
Jojo was one of the first stepping stone for Toonami clogging the block up with shounen. The first being Naruto. A lot of people were happy at the time because of its popularity, but in reality, it was a never ender because of the sequels. I fully expect Part 5 to be on the block next year and then part 6 whenever that happens.
Toonami was dead the moment they announced DBZ returning.
Andrew Jenkins
TPN has a stellar first arc. But everything else after pales in comparison.
>I remember arguing with someone on Reddit r/Toonami is just a looser Resetera.
Andrew Morales
>1:30a CHAD Clover 244 0.13 >3:00a Hunter X Hunter 242 0.13 Speaking of Reddit, why do they have completely different numbers compared to here? Here BC has bigger numbers than Hunter. There it's the opposite. >BC 242 >HxH 243
Isaac Martin
SotB has been dragging his feet on the standard ratings post, so OP seems to have been compiling them manually, apparently reddit is as well, and this results in mistakes.
Carson Campbell
So when do you think they break their silence? Wednesday, Thursday or Friday? Keep in mind no matter what, they have to say something before Saturday, even if it’s not a new show, they can’t just ignore TPN ending.
Samuel King
>There are niggas in this thread that care so much about "late night appropriate" shows they want to take the block back to the dark days of Adult Swim Anime when all they had were Wolf's Rain, Trinity Blood and Moribito
Joshua Long
So which one is right on the money?
Jason Evans
>the dark days of Adult Swim Anime when all they had were Wolf's Rain, Trinity Blood and Moribito Sounds preferable over the present dark age of all day-time Shonen, at least HxH, TPN and Kimetsu can technically be late-night appropriate
Wolf's Rain, Trinity Blood, and Morbito are late night anime tier.
I just go to sleep around 11 nowadays because nothing on the lineup interests me. The only thing keeping me up on Saturdays are working the graveyard shift. I rather watch ME-TV because they have a better Saturday evening line up than Toonami.
Demarco is too much of a corporate shill and fag to understand what works.
Jacob Garcia
Who is Toonami even for?
Ethan Taylor
Man children
Jason Sullivan
By the time Part 6 is ready to be on the block, Toonami will be dead.
Joshua Evans
We've been saying this for almost two years now. Toonami won't die as long as cable TV is still a thing, and even when Toonami dies chances are it'll move onto a [as] streaming platform. [as] is already being desperate due to the inevitable Family Guy lost. They need whatever shitty content they can get, and Toonami happens to be one of them.
Carson Peterson
Adult Swim brought it on themselves by destroying any good will it had with Brendan Small over Metalocalypse, relying on Robot Chicken, Family Guy, and Bobs burgers to carry their block.
I read on these threads like 3 or 4 years ago he does it for minimum wage because he likes it and the fact [as] launched his career
Aiden Diaz
>seen an ad for an Adult Swim Festival last night before passing out from an afterlull fap I do not know the first thing about the costs of running a festival but what the fuck. [as] seems bigger now for some reason
Ryan Brown
It’s the exact opposite. Demarco has commented before that TOM is a big part of the budget. Why do you think they cut down TOMs dialog to the bare minimum?
Alexander Gonzalez
wtf i hate blum now
Oliver Edwards
A festival doesn’t cost that much when the people you have playing are literally who mumblerappers who will do the work for peanuts
Julian Lee
Listen tf up. Between 4-7pm today, the new show will be announced
Nolan Sanchez
They've done it for the past 2 years.
Landon James
Are you guys serious? My Hero manga is one of the most tedious reads you can find right now. >arcs take almost entire years to finish and go nowhere >new villains get rekt immediately and are promptly forgotten >side characters are either jobbers or irrelevant background filler >no plot to speak of, everything is just prep work and cockteasing for the future >cringeworthy dialogue and shounen tropes that make Naruto look sophisticated
We literally just had a chapter where Hori forgot about Twice cloning Toga less than 2 years ago. He's the Japanese Bendis.
He accepts below his usual union rate to record TOM but the man deserve appropriate pay for his work. I don’t think he does that for anyone except Toonami. Even so if he’s recording for them constantly that adds up. It’s still way cheaper than new CGI animation though.
Joseph Flores
He has a deal with AS where he does TOM, but they also use him for generic AS voiceover work too. So he makes up the loss of doing cheap TOM on other commercials
Chase Sanders
That’s a good bartering system.
Jeremiah Reed
At least none of them are pic related. What a toxic fandom to be in.
Final Space’s season 2 premiere at 11:30PM on Monday only pulled in 0.31 18-49 and less than 600,000 total viewers. I’d say Toonami looks alright still by comparison.
40 mins from now is usually when show announcements are autonposted. Second opportunity is 2 hours later
Juan Thomas
Final Space is unfunny dogshit, so I’m not sure what kind of comparison you are trying to make
Jack Thomas
>wwe losing to some darkie hiphop show
glad I dropped that shit after cena became the face of the company
Jonathan Foster
ty ty
Easton Flores
So what you are saying is it dabbed on everything Toonami aired
James Reyes
Final Space did a bit better than The Jellies and about 0.12 better than Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell. You probably don’t like either of those shows but I’m just comparing the performance AS originals and how Toonami does in comparison.
Saturday night is also a tougher spot to be than Friday, Sunday or Monday where YPF, Jellies and Final Space air respectively. All things considered, Toonami isn’t doing great but it’s not doing terrible.
Jeremiah Brooks
This week yes. Though Super has done better than 600,000 just the week before. Final Space might keep up with Super but Super and even some other shows on Toonami can beat other recent AS originals.
Final Space had to be more expensive than Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell or The Jellies and it also was more expensive than licensing anime for Toonami. If Toonami remains cost effective, it’s not likely to get significant cuts much less cancelled.
Mason Murphy
We don't want someone who sucks Demarco's dick here.
Carson Bailey
No problem
Angel Diaz
Licensing anime will always be more expensive than any original they make, considering they can actually run something like Final Space more than one time for ratings
Bentley Torres
such as
Andrew Wood
it went to complete shit at one million percent
Ayden Sanchez
>wednesday i dont even remember sunday, monday and tuesday
Dylan Rogers
>zero Ami posts i dunno what to think of you anymore, toonami general.
Also is it Ei-mi or ay-me or ah-mi
David Thompson
She's kinda of a boring kuudere, honestly the worst part of the show so far and I think it's Ah-mi
Jacob Brown
The problem with Dragonball is that it did well in it's original run airing weekly during the afternoons from Monday to Friday.
Super is getting low ratings because it's on once every Saturday at 11pm with a rerun of the previous episode rerunning earlier at 8:30pm. Another factor is that the Adult Swim fanbase grew up with Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, S-Cry-Ed, and Bleach, Trigun airing at late nights.
All the good anime like Crest of the Stars, RahXephon, Gungrave, Last Exile, Read Or Die,Boogiepop or other 13-26 episode anime aired late nights at Tech TV before they became G4.
John Williams
If you think I agree with even most of the decisions DeMarco makes, you’d be wrong about that. I just keep things in perspective. I’ve been pretty bored with Toonami since 2016. 2018 was a shit show. 2017 relied way too much on nostalgia. But I do think that people have no clue what they are talking about when they claim DeMarco ruined Toonami’s relationships with Sentai, FUNimation and previously Aniplex. That’s quite an exaggeration at best.
I’ve been here for a while incognito but since I was posting an image I tweeted earlier today, there was no sense pretending I wasn’t the same person.
Also I thought it was hilarious someone thought DeMarco paid me to point out the content in SAO. I wish. I could use some extra cash.
Nicholas Watson
Funimation ruined themselves buy building a market tailor made for hardcore anime fans and ignoring mainstream audiences. Toei is the only company willing to tolerate them, while Studio Khara has given up on them for changing too much of EVA 3.0
Jaxson Williams
>Also I thought it was hilarious someone thought DeMarco paid me to point out the content in SAO. I wish. I could use some extra cash.
No, you what you did was worse: You did it for free, and cucked the block.
Evan Sanchez
For the most part licensing anime for one run is way more affordable than making shows. It costs 300,000 to animate an episode of The Venture Bros. However, they can monetize originals through other means than ratings so they have to flop pretty bad to be less economical than getting anime from a distributor. How many 0s do you think are in the price tag for 50 episodes of most anime? Probably not 5 or 6. I’m thinking 4. They’ll never tell us the exact number of course and DBS has to cost significantly more than most.
Zachary White
You’re welcome.
Michael Brown
Remember when DeMarco said Adventure Time and Steven Universe would be good candidates for the block?
Do you people really trust a man with this mentality to actually pickup good shows?
John Fisher
Nobody here is really watching the show she is in
Kayden Green
Admittedly, he did get us a double SAO that night which got it off the block a week faster, can’t fault him there. Plus it’s funny the rape flashback was untouched and showed more than the edit, showing more incompetence on Demarcos part
Jackson Morgan
Funimation ruined the relationship themselves, no one ever blames Demarco for that. He did tank the Sentai relationship though, you can’t argue that
Gavin Russell
It’s funny you have to come here, instead of posting this shit on reddit where it might actually make an impact. I skim their ratings posts, and it’s like a different person writes your posts over there
Jaxson Bell
27 minutes. If they don’t reveal today, it’s officially tied with Mob for longest delay
Elijah Scott
So when can we expect an unofficial apology from Toonami Faithful to the voice actors who had to record these two traumatic rape scenes?
how may lipids are in a load of cum? asking for a friend and something about momo
Gabriel Ward
I never really understood why Demarco felt the need to edit out the rape scenes in Sword Art Online. It airs late night on adult swim at a time when most kids are asleep.
Bentley Gutierrez
Demarco is a SJW
Hudson Sanders
>no news Epic
Adam Robinson
I think it’s a bit more complicated than that. Any distributor can say they want shows onto Toonami. That does not mean they’re willing to come to the table. Business is complicated. After Parasyte there was also a long stretch of Sentai not acquiring many action shows. Meanwhile, Hunter x Hunter, One-Punch, Gundam and JoJo became available. DeMarco prioritized those for better or worse. His hands aren’t clean in how things went with Sentai but I don’t think he’s the sole reason that Sentai could be ignoring Toonami now. It’s more likely that they just haven’t gone for Sentai shows in a while and that IS on them, perhaps specifically DeMarco.
I do still see people saying DeMarco ruined their relationship with FUNimation despite it being clear that FUNi just wants to focus on their own service.
Lincoln Robinson
There was a point when Super aired weekly before the usual AS programming to mixed success, and I think the Toonami ratings were better when it was so maybe you have a point. >All the good anime like Crest of the Stars, RahXephon, Gungrave, Last Exile, Read Or Die,Boogiepop or other 13-26 episode anime aired late nights at Tech TV before they became G4. I think the general opinion besides is that we all want them to air more of those short cour shows and have fewer shows longer than 24 eps. It's just gonna be announced randomly at any point in the week on Facebook
Grayson Butler
He is the one who maybe the conscious choice to overload the block with long running dogshit. He is the one who continues to license confirmed ratings abyss titles like Lupin and Gundam, locking down the few short slots we have left.
Kim Manning chose ONE show for the block that was infinitely better than the trash Demarco always gravitates to. The problem piece is Demarco, when you remove him from the equation, many issues evaporate away in an instant. Trouble is, Demarco is the captain of the Titanic, and no sane person wants his role because anyone with eyes can see this shit is beyond fucked already
Jaxon Torres
I just want to apologize to any voice actor who has to be a part of SAO.
Joseph Morgan
Manning has final say on EVERY show on the block.
Henry Wood
Their posts on Facebook are typically automated to certain times of the day. There is one in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon. We just past the point for the last one today, so it’s on to tomorrow. Really, tomorrow is the final day if they intend to run the schedule promo teaser on preflight.
Grayson Bell
Exactly, which means if she says she wants Pop Team Epic to air, then it airs
Nolan Green
Huh, didn't know that. Well, here's hoping to something that isn't completely predictable.
Julian Williams
We are finally getting Fairy Tail, bros.
Isaac Williams
They do break that schedule at times, when they have urgent or fresh developments to share. So we will be able to tell right away that this was a last second deal if the reveal comes at an unusual time.
IIRC the times are 12, 5, and 7 EST. There isn’t a post at each time each day, but those are the times that they happen if there is one. Any other time is a manual posting
Parker Jackson
.... this makes sense with sao getting viewers with titties i can see that they finally see and with a long runner going, why not bring in another long runner
Grayson Lee
Reminder that it's cheaper to get a long runner because it doesn't require finding a new show to replace it posthaste.
John Watson
They should just adapt Eden Zero so my dorky wife Homura can be popular. Also the space-adventure theme + "Muh Friendship" autism by the MC is fun fun.
Demarco and Austin are the ones who saw it in the first place. They told Manning they wanted to air it and she agreed. That's who all show acquisitions work.
That’s what they say. Manning saw it first and wanted it to air
Gabriel Bell
BC barely has any fanservice though and Demarco hates it for some reason.
Charles Scott
I wish this meme would fucking die already.
Nathan Morris
I don’t believe anyone said who saw Pop Team first. Manning said she liked it around the time it was half over in Japan but that doesn’t mean she was the first of the three to see it. Though she may have been.
Henry Thomas
Because it yeets on all the shows he actually does like
Jaxson Anderson
What show did Manning pick?
Ryder Lopez
I mean they had Tenshi Muyo before right? Maybe ecchi anime is the right route to go.
Lincoln Gomez
Pop Team Epic
It is, but it has to be modern ecchi. It doesn’t really even need to be full blown ecchi, just some respectable fanservice would be enough. People are tired of the gay af sausagefests like HxH and Jojo
Brayden Jackson
Anyone catch that AS bump just now? It was cycling through a bunch of character silhouettes from shows AS has aired. I think Celty and Maka made it in surprisingly
Connor Collins
So if nothing comes tomorrow, there's either no new show or it's a last min pick-up? The idea of it being something last minute excites me because means that they scrambled for something cheap, easily negotiable and probably older.
Luke Phillips
They have to post SOMETHING by midday Friday. Even if they don’t have a new show, they have to make a full schedule post that removes TPN and adds Gundam.
They said a month ago at Momocon that they have two shows ready to roll, but the distributor said they couldn’t reveal. I cannot fathom a reason they would be scrambling right now unless they straight up lied, which they have done in the past
Noah Miller
>DeMarco once promised the show wasn't going to return and broke it he broke it twice! kai has already looped
Hunter Cox
It's a combination of the 2 of them...
I think people think that because it seemed like they were on the verge of something with Dimension W. I almost thought that they would air a simuldub every season.
At the time I thought MHA was the replacement for DW . It almost seemed like the ideal setup. Instead they went for Gundam, HxH, Jojo, and OPM- which seemed like no brainers to take the block to new heights.
Meanwhile, FN grew and their simuldub capabilities expanded and they almost outgrew the need for Toonami at the same time Toonami was going after other shows from other distributors.
So in a way it's kind of on both of them. Similarly to how real life relationships deteriorate.
Jason Richardson
Reminder that is cost money to get Kai back, and it doesn’t even air on the block anymore but still came out of our budget
Jonathan Davis
oh that collage of everything they aired over the years? too fast for me but I seen some anime
Owen Green
Yea that. Only reason I caught Celty and Maka is because of their big ass scythe making them stand out. If someone puts it on YT you could probably find more.
They detested DRRR when it was airing, so I’m surprised to see it get even a sliver of attention
Alexander Walker
I wouldn't it put it past them to lie, unless the show is something heavily requested like Mob or something popular that could drum up big hype with a dub announcement like Kaguya-Sama or Kimetsu, then there's little reason for the distributor to hold off announcing it.
Owen Stewart
24-26 Episode Anime is just perfect. It doesn't overstay it's welcome and leaves an impact on you.
Super isn't rewatchable at all. Only the Future Trunks Arc and certain filler are worth rewatching, but everything else seems like a chore. Zamasu and Goku Black are the best things to come out of Dragonball in a long time.
Colton Bell
Some were speculating earlier that the distributors themselves want to reveal their shows dub at Anime Expo. Trouble with that is it leaves Toonami high and dry for a week, and whatever the show ends up being would get less than a week promotion anyway. I could see that causing some conflict, but you would think they would have come to a resolution in a months time
Colton Jones
>Some were speculating earlier that the distributors themselves want to reveal their shows dub at Anime Expo. I'm hoping against that because it leads me to believe that one of the shows is gonna be Dr.Stone. Not that I'm entirely against it but it's another one of Shueisha's efforts into shilling a show to become a hit, like Black Clover(God bless its soul). Plus it's an action comedy like Demarco hinted one of the new shows being. It's been getting advertised through Crunchyroll for the past couple of months so they can just say it's coming to Toonami and most of the legwork has been done already. youtu.be/kKBZFM89xYM
Aiden Campbell
I can agree with that.
Aiden Lee
That probably didn’t end up coming out of Toonami’s budget. They budget separately for things like DBZ that warrant special consideration and higher cost that they would be willing to pay for other shows.
If it did come out of Toonami’s budget, it did not stop them from getting shows to fill whatever premiere slot openings they had at the end of 2018.
Jonathan Taylor
MHA held Family Guy really well. Looks like the whole night got thrashed.
Isn’t Dr Stone a Funi dub? While possible, I don’t think Shueisha would be this petty about a con reveal. That said, we do have Demon Slayer lurking, and Aniplex does in fact want to be petty about dub release news as we saw with TPN.
I wish they would just break the silence already, this speculation is getting tiresome
Jace Murphy
Actual people with shit taste say MHA has no stakes, whereas DBZ and Black Clover do.
Nathaniel Murphy
>Sentai >icky situations that aren’t Demarco approved Wrong bucko

We need a show that has Richard Epcar in it. He doesn’t mess around with this red tape.
Julian Reed
only if you meme the whole time
Bentley Sanders
Yeah, it's a Funi dub, but from this list of streaming licenses for this Summer season it looks like CR is the master license holder while Funi just has the license for the dub. I honestly don't know exactly what that entails but I'm hopeful that it means Toonami does negotiations with CR and then CR does business with Funi for the rights. Mainly because otherwise it screws us out of a lot good shows licensed through CR. funimation.com/forum/topic/18399/summer-2019-anime-u-s-canada-licenses-streaming >I wish they would just break the silence already, this speculation is getting tiresome Yep but at least the wait is nearly over.
Carter Lee
What show is getting replaced? far as I know hxh is going to get two rerun episodes
Jack Smith
MHA has minor stakes, like recovery girl not being able to just delete all the damage Deku takes. Same with Black Clover. DBZ is the one with truly no stakes or suspense. Nothing that happens matters, just wish it all better and no one learns a thing
Liam Lee
>hey mr Epcar any projects coming up >SURE ARE SON LET ME JUST DROP ALL THE TITLES FOR YOU He is great, I love how it’s well known that he is basically guaranteed to leak projects, yet still gets steady work
>last weeks lupin episode Remember when Lupin was in the alley and doing the deep voice? was that serious or him fucking around. because that was the opposite of.. tough
Leo Hall
I hope if they get it, it’s not some deal where it’s forced to be behind FN. It should be the other way around
Noah Price
Isn’t Mob under the same license style? We missed that dub premiere
Jacob Jones
HxH ended last week, it has one rerun this week then it leaves for Gundam. TPN ends this week and we don’t know what’s happening with it’s slot yet
Kayden Long
Gonna need to see some identification before I make that decision.
Lucas Cox
Will Toonami finally get a proper Isekai?
Colton Wright
>MHA has minor stakes 0 stakes. Social issues are just covered in the media but never shown. What stakes the world had with AM retiring doesn't exist because even the villains aren't competent
So was she just gonna lay there, get railed, and clean up without a word, or what’s the story here?
Gavin Young
>smol even when not in chibi form My penis sure does
Michael Wood
The only one that makes any sense from a distributor standpoint is Konosuba. Unless Demarco can get over being a faggit for a few minutes, that won’t happen
Easton Peterson
Seems like if Toonami didn’t have DBS, MHA would hold Family Guy well enough that the rest of the block would do as well even without Super.
>Funi isn’t petty >remember kids, Funimation Now is the FIRST and ONLY place to see AoT dubbed!
Ian Brooks
FUNimation is streaming a simuldub of Dr. Stone but maybe they aren’t dubbing it themselves. Shield Hero and Mob come to mind but then again this past season FUNi dubbed Sarazanmai for CR so it could go either way.
Carson Reyes
So it seems if Funi is involved with the project, that hurts its chances, or should I say, it’s chances of airing at a reasonable timeframe (ie before it’s widely available to stream).
As a side thought, remember when they said the Mob OVA was set to air on Toonami? Nothing ever came of that
Lincoln Allen
>The same user spamming this shit in MHA threads on Yea Forums because he got BTFO is here doing the same shit on Yea Forums
Give it to me straight, on a scale of 1 to 10, how fucked are we? If Dr.Stone casting list is full of Funimation vets then that's a clear answer. That's sorta what I've been thinking, Funi has exclusive rights for the dub until they lapse back to CR and then it's possible fair game for Toonami. Nothing came out of Pitou's voice actress saying "See you again soon, Toonami!" as well, unless she's on one of the current shows so who knows.
She's also Felix on Re:Zero which many assumed was coming after that quote from an AMA or Twitter post*
Dominic Campbell
I’ll rank it about a 7. Ratings are down permanently, but we still draw a little niche crowd regardless. Funi is a big loss, but not a new one. We still have Viz and Aniplex on our side, and CR at an undetermined level. So we aren’t completely shut out on content either
Logan Sanders
The Re Zero speculation was more in regards to Demarco saying they were in legal complications with a show, and Re Zero was in public complications so people stuck the two together. Obviously that means fuckall now since every show is delayed and they blame it on anyone but their own incompetence
Levi Jones
At least stay up for Pooper
John Sanders
Re:Zero would be an ok pick. With a confirmed 2nd season on the way at some point it might not be such a bad idea to air to hype up for that.
Isaiah Morgan
>Wanting the viewer count to drop when Subaru acts like an incel >Want TG to be spammed with Remshit when she's a sociopath who fucked over Subaru multiple times on the literal pettiest shit.

mecha sucks
Kayden Reyes
mecha is cool i just wish there was more of it. 15 minutes of fighting per 26 episode season is meh
Alexander Sanders
Remshit would kick the ratings up tho
Lucas Mitchell
Okay, again, does ANYBODY have a saved version of that vocaroo from years ago that was calling out Char as a dumbass, or whatever?
Cameron Bennett
Then talk Demarco into airing Break Blade. Its literal kino during the mecha fights and the MC cucks his nation's King.
Anthony King
I'd be fine with getting MJP, since the dub isn't complete ass, and Code Geass is a no go since Netflix has it now.
Maybe, but by the time HxH got on Toonami, we already had three or four other long-running shounen, so the pot was spoiled, so to speak.
Seems weird for us to wait this long in suspense, but what can we do? In the meantime, let's all wait for Ratings Retrospective user to show up as we talk about the one show on Toonami who's aired in just about every slot and has been moved the most.
Carter Walker
I mowed my lawn today and ever since I've had blurry spot in my right eye. I hope I don't go blind.
Isaac Lee
So what's Dr. Stone about since we should be prepping our assholes for it anyways
Isaiah Scott
Straight from Wikipedia because I don't know shit. >Typical student Taiju tells his science-loving friend Senku that he is finally about to confess to Yuzuriha, who he has secretly been in love with for five years. Meeting under a camphor tree on the school grounds, just as Taiju is about to confess, a bright light appears in the sky. Taiju pushes Yuzuriha to the tree to protect her, but the light suddenly petrifies all of humanity, with every human on Earth turning into stone. Most humans begin to lose their consciousness while all traces of civilization decay, but Taiju remains alive as the years progress by his motivation of freeing both himself and Yuzuriha. Eventually, Taiju breaks free from the stone and finds a message carved into the tree that leads him to discover that Senku has also escaped from stone, keeping his consciousness alive by counting how long he has been petrified. Thus Taiju learns that the date is now October 5th, 5738.[2]
>Together, Taiju and Senku begin to rebuild civilization using Senku's scientific knowledge. They create nital; a corrosive solvent that destroys the stone casing on people. At first, they plan to free Yuzuriha, but when the two are attacked by lions that have escaped from zoos and bred in Japan over the centuries, they instead release someone that Taiju recognizes as Tsukasa Shishio, "The Strongest Primate High Schooler", who uses his strength to kill the lions. Later they make more nital to free Yuzuriha as well, but Senku discovers that during Tsukasa's childhood he was brutally beaten by an adult while he was collecting seashells for his sister undergoing surgery; due to the man believing since he had the fishing rights for the region Tsukasa was stealing the seashells. Thus giving Tsukasa a mindset that only the "pure young-hearted people" should be revived, and thus Tsukasa starts destroying the petrified adults. Thus two rival clans form: Senku's Kingdom of science, and Tsukasa's Empire of Might.[2]
Brandon Miller
The premise is that some catastrophe happened, which turned everyone into stone. A guy somehow becomes unpetrified and resolves to heal everyone with another guy who also became unpetrified, but then goes evil for some reason.
Well yeah if the cast list is full of FUNimation regulars, that makes it clear who is dubbing it. No cast list yet but there should be one soon.
Nicholas Gomez
Satan everyone in the world gets turned to stone. Super smart highschooler breaks out of stone with his BF and they meet a post-apoc village and plan on restoring technology and more to humanity from scratch.
While doing this they encounter enemies who don't like their technology philosophy and want young ruling, literal hitler eugenics, and more.
>with his bf Is this more faggy no women allowed shit like HxH?
Carter White
When you put it that way it's not as bad as I thought. Still shitty since Funi has a lot of good shows but Aniplex is a decent replacement with CR having some potential, Viz is whatever after HxH ended besides Jojo. What show did that turn out to be, Mob? That is what I said though.
Ayden Flores
I'm not doing the retrospective until next week.
Carson Sanders
Today is Spike's Birthday He would had been -25 years old
Grayson Jones
Apparently it was Mob, Demarco was never very forthcoming with the answer
(translation) I have been converted into a Punjabi man and I am going to Blind for this week, for tonami > Katsusi will fight with the Blob men, I think > Goku can fight with jayner > Monkey man will stick to Aron in Ashosh > The numbers are for a conventional raider, Hoonson > Clone Mama is wasting everything in São 3 > Shark All-Stars comes out to the villain of the villain's fight > Tournament for the Royal Quarters > If anybody wearing a blanket wearing a purple ring, I will replace him with my Punjabi powers. > Punjabi Power > I'm about to miss the HxH (for real time)
Jason Garcia
I better wake up to a new show or a schedule or something
Aiden Bennett
Watch it be double SAO on July 6th to finish the season and buy a week so Aniplex can announce two shows at AX that will both start on July 13th.
Or maybe they’ll get those two extra episodes of PTE or run the Mob OVA as a different stall tactic.
Robert Wilson
With all the line up changes coming up in the next few months, I should be excited but I know I'll be disappointing every time.
Jayden Nelson
Goku Black is just Toriyama's original vision for Goku handled better.
Isaac Bailey
Is Dr. Stone good? I admit I'm getting tired of these "Smart" shonens with their pointless exposition over action.
Luke Perez
At this point I don’t care. I just want to know what’s going to happen
Jaxson Young
It’s just more generic Jump slop. The last thing this block needs
Black Clover is more like 80s battle shonen than modern ones. Asta trains to get stronger and most likely has a bulge that strikes fear in the hearts of gays.
James Fisher
How come? It does decently
Dylan Hall
They should air Harukana Receive and Gal-Ko then
Nathaniel Flores
Demarco doesn’t care if a show brings a billion viewers. If he doesn’t approve of it, he will shit on it. Meanwhile, he will gladly pick up absolute garbage that kills the block and slot it high too.
I imagine he is utterly seething right now that scheduling forced Gundam to 3am. I’m glad they finally got their balls up
Leo Brooks
Tetsuo is proto-Shinji, showing would would realistically happen if scientists gave a kid with massive insecurities god like power.
Nathaniel Reyes
Shit, wrong board, my bad
Carter Campbell
>I admit I'm getting tired of these "Smart" shonens with their pointless exposition over action. Welcome to the anime these retarded wannabe smart idiots on Reddit and Resetera watch
Anthony Martinez
Chad Clover is doing it right. Everyone else is trying to be 1000iq with their storytelling to avoid old tropes, while Clover gladly revisits old and successful ones
Anthony Wood
52 more minutes till the second window for a scheduled post. I doubt it will be this one but we will see
Why don't they just put the Nardos at the end of the block? MHA isn't THAT bad and even Gundam I'm more likely to watch than the retard power hour. We could all get to sleep an hour earlier if they did.
Camden Ward
Think demarco had a choice with food wars? Considering it’s fan service n all
Jose Price
It being Shonen Jump likely took priority over it being a J.C. Staff fanservice show.
Christopher Morales
>foodgasms didn't see that coming.
Cooper Roberts
I have some questions >what is food wars >is the food aesthetically pleasing >are there tiddies
Christopher Long
>DeMarco hates fan service and tanked the relationship with Sentai
i guess I'm at least glad i never watched the dub at all and stopped watching the sub at some point
odd series to pick though
Jason Reed
You don't have to eat the animated food. In facts, I don't think you even could if you wanted to, unless you have some sort of de-digitiing ray like the opposite of Tron. Or like in the fourth direct to video Scooby Doo movie.
Logan Miller
>cable has fritzy all week >city branch cutters dropped a branch on my cable line >not sure if that's the problem >tech is coming tomorrow Hope they send a good one. Wish I had decent enough internet to stream.
Mason Watson
>Sentai is back on the menu Ftfy
Sebastian Gomez
>was looking forward to quitting 90 mins early because fuck nart hour and Gundam >they throw MHA at the end I’m not watching Gundam you sack of shit, guess I’ll just stream the rest of MHA
Jace Nguyen
>Sentai Filmworks Barf
Cooper Gutierrez
I knew MHA wasn't pulling good numbers but I didn't think it warranted a death slot. Is this Demarco's revenge for gundam?
Wyatt Morgan
MHAfags BTFO
Parker Murphy
>You don't have to eat the animated food. Yeah, but people talking about meat just bores me on a fundamental level, so if it turns into an Arby's commercial or something I'm just going to mentally check out. >fourth direct to video Scooby Doo movie Pic related.
You could just stay on the thread with the show on in the background so when they aren't talking about meat, but something else that you do care about, you can pay attention then.
>Food Wars Sure whatever >MHA in 3:30 HELL YEAH let's see it pull those numbers now, it was a long time coming, BC and Bort got executed for far less >BC STILL in the same time slot Demarco knows Lupin's going to kill Toonami, right?
Jaxson Rodriguez
>STILL doubling down on keeping Black Clover at the back of the block while moving up ratings black hole Lupin III
Yeah, that's pretty much a given. I was just wondering if it was going to have to go that way in the first place. Fortunately being vegetarian does not preclude one from lusting over big meaty anime tiddies.
Jeremiah Brown
>Everyone else is trying to be 1000iq with their storytelling to avoid old tropes The problem is that they fail. HxH tried to be too brainy and the result was that it became boring and asspulled Adult Gon, Alluka, among other things. MHA tried to have a smart cutie that you felt for because he got bullied, but failed because he got the best powers x6 anyway so he's now Discount Naruto more than ever before. Food Wars started out fine, but the manga....................
Jacob Gomez
>Yea Forums >social media
Jack Richardson
Titty meat? On my Toonami?
Ryan Morris
More like he realized Funimation isn't going to let them air season 4 in the fall, so he said "fuck you" and sent it to the back of the bus.
Jayden Sullivan
This isn't Boogiepop Next
Isaiah Johnson
Because it’s over as quick as it starts and they probably have a replacement
Gabriel Lewis
Place your bets, will Herofags be able to throw a big enough tantrum to escape 3:30?
Chase James
>never heard of this >decide to watch the trailer Oh baby this is gonna be fun and censored to all hell.
Liam Sanders
That's a good question. It surprisingly worked for JoJo. Do herofags have the same noise level?
Jeremiah Cooper
Probably yeah Here's to the ratings guys hijacking the FB and telling these stupid manchildren to cry to mama
Dominic Thompson
isnt there only like 5 episodes left?
Gabriel Nelson
Difference between MHA and what (almost) happened with JoJo is that JoJo was actually a premiere dub, while MHA has been available for like a year. So MHA fans probably don't give a shit about Toonami, much less when it's airing.
Nicholas Morris
Probably. Didn't deserve the death slot.
Jose Powell
Yes, but considering how long its stayed near the front since its acquisition, this sudden change seems like we aren't getting S4.
Zachary Collins
So how much PLOT we talking about in this show?
Alexander Sanders
Man can’t wait for all lewd waifu posting in the thread
Did SAO have a boost because of titties? Did Lupin go up a bit because of panties?
Because for some odd reason I have not been excited for a new show in awhile.
Kevin Sanchez
See Clearly there will be wide golden expanses of plot, stretching from screen to shining screen. God bless America.
Samuel Robinson
Robinfag will have no choice but to waifupost up until 3:30 am lol because that fag only keeps up with Toonami for Hunter and Jojo like the hipster he is
Nathaniel Torres
Enough plot to make question if Demarco really made this choice under his own will.
Jack Perry
Hero is way more normie than Jojo, so they should
Lincoln Ortiz
It enticed Ohepe to make several doujins about the meat loving girl. It's also about the overreactions akin to Yakitate JAPAN!
SAO did. A split second shot of panties can’t save Lupin
Isaiah Johnson
>Gundam deathslotted to the back >fanservice as fuck (by cable standards at least) show picked up >announcement heavily delayed Is Demarco losing his power?
Josiah Price
>JoJo died for this
PART 5 FUCKING WHEN?
Jace Moore
He is but not fast enough, BC is still behind fucking Lupin the Ratings Black Hole
Ian Reyes
Given shonen shit is more popular than anything else he's probably not wrong.
Kayden Taylor
Adult Gon was no asspull if you took two seconds to think about the mechanics and thematic foundations. Not surprised to see it popped up again
Hudson Jones
Probably in the Fall, it's not done in Japan yet.
Nathan Nguyen
Now this is what the block needed
Nicholas Diaz
>Adult Gon was no asspull Not with how the manga did it Anime covered for Togashi's lazy ass
Brayden Jones
I don't know about the block, but it's definitely what my dick needed.
Daniel Allen
What the fuck.
Grayson Gonzalez
Love your reasoning user but it's just about food.
I seriously did not see this ever coming to Toonami. It has absolutely no action and is heavy on fan service.
Nicholas Walker
>MHA at 3:30
Dragonchads dabbing on MHAtards!
Aaron Butler
I think it's really fitting, actually, Toonami is basically grave robbing for shows.
Jonathan Nguyen
SUper is dragonball they spent a lot for titan SAO has titties luypin is new food wars has titties black clover in its hate love spot blah blah blah MHA is ending soon
There you go
Blake Wood
You think demarco got it for cheap
Bentley Rivera
I wish Fate had a new show out that covered the whole series and not that gmdame phone game.
Oh definitely. Manga has been sliding for years and finally got canned, anime series basically petered out anticlimactically too. I think he just wanted something that would fill up a slot for over a year.
Caleb Turner
What do you mean "the whole series"? UBW covers one full story route of F/SN, and the Heaven's Feel movies completely adapt that route of the game. The only part not covered is the Fate route, but with both UBW and HF covered you almost don't really need it.
Adam Russell
>Putting MHA at the end because they're not getting S4
That's incredibly petty. Its not even a ratings thing either because it held on well against FG.
>Food Wars
Scrapping to the bottom of the barrel. Its even more insulting since the show has been available dubbed for two years.
There will be some backlash, and it really is surprising they'd deathslot it like that. It's on the back half of its last season but still months out from ending. This reeks of some kind of dispute with the licenser.
Samuel Carter
>That's incredibly petty. >he says as BC, Boruto, and Naruto were doing well in their initial timeslots before being given the boot to after midnight
Ryder Murphy
Yep. They're not getting S4 because of Hulu. The reason why they didn't deathslot Titan is because they have it under contract to air on the block.
Alexander Jenkins
Being moved after midnight = / = death slotting. None of them went from front lining the block to back of the bus during a premier run, that's serious, inexplicable whiplash that tops even what AS did to Seirei no Moribito back in the day, for anybody that remembers it.
Carson Myers
>BC, Boruto, and Naruto were doing well in their initial timeslots They werent. That whole thing waa a disaster.
Robert Adams
This is bigtime fanservice though, I doubt he went willingly on this
Anthony Torres
Yeah, pushing Geass and Moribito premieres to 5AM was easily the hardest [as] ever shafted one of their anime, ACTN or Toonami.
Ian Perez
At this point I'm just glad to have a break from battle shonens. And Shokugeki, while it turned out unfortunate, was very strong in its first couple arcs and extremely enjoyable. It only went to crap after Azami showed up.
Lincoln Nelson
BC and Naruto gradually moved down over the years. Boruto took a big dive, but wasn’t a deathslot. Going from lead to last is insane
Jose Cruz
The anime for Food Wars isn't even good. If we're getting the second and third seasons holy shit is it going to tank.
Cooper Garcia
People arw making a huge shit of rbis over twitter and facebook. Think Demarco is going to backtrack like last time?
Isn't there a new season that's going to air in the fall?
Tyler Gutierrez
The anime wasn't good compared to the manga mainly because the art didn't live up to Tosh's stuff.
FYI for those of you new to Food Wars, the manga is done by a duo artist/writer team and the artist is a famous hentai mangaka named Tosh, which is why the girls are so sexy.
Brayden Lewis
Is there? I haven't bothered following it and only keep up one season ahead of schedule for the most part. Would surprise me if they bothered to continue it.
William Taylor
>The anime wasn't good compared to the manga mainly because the art didn't live up to Tosh's stuff. Also the bad pacing, the bad animation and the how much was ommitted which gets worse in the next two seasons not that it matters since that's when the story turns to shit.
Tyler Peterson
Yeah its true. Nobody cares
Isaiah Wright
Pacing didn't seem bad until season 2, and the animation is whatever, it's a cooking show, I don't really give a shit. In general all I noticed was that the production values for the show took a hard dive after the first season.
Holy shit. I absolutely love the first season, but only that. S2 was alright, I may rewatch to better judge it. But after one episode of the 3rd season it didn't entertain me as much. Plus the manga crashed and fucking burned so can't enjoy that either.
Jason Hill
The production values weren't good to begin with. S1 also made some changes that they had to retcon in the second.
Henry Collins
It sure as hell isn't a favorite of mine, but let's see how it works.
>Gundam and MHA at the end of the block All you bitches got BTFO.
Christopher Davis
I remmeber when everyone was making a big deal about MHA not being on the block, and how Black Clover was supposed to be a consolation prize.
Now BC is consistently top rank and MHA is getting SHAT on in the back...
Lincoln Rogers
MHA only has a couple of eps left. It spent most of its 50 eps total at the top. BC was evicted after 15 something, Boruto 20 something.
>MHA only has a couple of eps left Like fucking 8 episodes left.
Ayden Sanchez
Man after united states of smash the season gets pretty fucking boring
Xavier Smith
>remmeber when everyone was making a big deal about MHA not being on the block, and how Black Clover was supposed to be a consolation prize. That was before Demarco said it was impossible and people still don't like BC
Luke Bailey
As hilarious MHA moving to the death slot, I still don't see how bort or even Naruto have been moved to the 3AM slot also if Demarco needs a long runner that bad, he might as well just get One Piece back.
Connor Brooks
Ive actually been enjoying this license arc. Not sure why people kept saying its boring.
Andrew Reyes
>It took over 50 episodes for MHA to move >it took BC 15 episodes >consistently at the top
So it has nothing to do with performance but licensing. That still doesn't make any sense.
Aiden Wilson
Once again proving that none of the best decisions for the block were DeMarco's idea.
Asher King
>Wasn't Faggit Man's decision Well its pretty obvious that Demarco wouldn't pick a titty show.
Elijah Lee
>best decisions kek
James Clark
>MHA moving to the back >Food Wars getting picked up
Yep this has nothing to do with Demarco. He only makes one bad decision not two.
Nathan Watson
Putting MHA at 3:30, not picking up Food Wars in general.
Ryder Lewis
>Hundreds of thousands of anime out there >most of which already have dubs >Can't even get 1/3 of them on toonami I think tv just needs to hurry up and die and stop with the prolonging its death.
Sounds like a bunch of BS. If MHA isn’t doing well enough as the lead but is still the second best rated show, you move it after DBS, not to after UC Gundam.
Samuel Flores
It felt gradual because anime dragged its ass in that particular arc. The pace was apropos when read
Christopher Hall
If you're still not convinced things have gone to shit, look at these premier ratings from 2018. Black Clovers first episode got nearly 700k
It's one of them multi-stage tests. The first round is only meant to cull the herd, it doesn't really test anything, in case you hadn't noticed. The actual hero test where they evaluate you based on performance is after this, but they don't want to waste their time evaluating people who can't even win a basic strategy / agility contest
Benjamin Ramirez
>Shokugeki lmfao there really will be nothing watchable once TPN ends. Guess I can start going to sleep earlier on saturdays then.
