Aside from pic related, are there other interesting characters who's only power is mimicry/copy? I'm genuinely asking

What is this anime weeb trash?

Google tells me it's lucien from HxH
Also don't be r00d
Okay so I need a rundown on why this dude is interesting

*lucifer

DCAU Amazo and maybe the 2 guys from Heroes

>Also don't be r00d
I'm just saying the truth,

Would taskmaster count?

Mimic from Exiles

Parasite?

Tbf Chrollo looks prettier than Amazo.

He doesn't copy powers

Clayface is awesome

Vixen.

No he just copies techniques
Does clayface do powers?
Do you guys mind explaining why? I don't just want names I'd like explanations. I'm trying to do research

With Exiles Mimic he was interesting because he had specific limits, so while he was powerful enough that he could handle a lot of threats solo, it wasn't like he overshadowed the rest of his team.

He had a five power limit, he only got the powers at half strength, and it generally only worked with mutants, so he had to specifically choose which powersets he wanted to copy.
But it wasn't instantaneous either, it took time for him to let go of one power and replace it with another. He had to spend time with the new power he wanted

So he couldn't just copy the bad guy's power in the middle of a fight in order to turn the tides.

Is limits the key to an interesting mimic?

DCAU Amazo himself is boring but the way they beat him by turning him into a god is interesting.

not being an deus ex machina is at least a good start.

Sorry for the retarded questions but how do you do that with a mimic? Giving powers at a reduced strength just seems like an easy way to make someone who jobs in a one-on-one if the mimic only has access to the powers of the target, but giving anything at full strength just makes a god if they have any kind of advantage over an opponent beyond the powers

There are ways to do it, it could be that they gain acess to the power but they don't know how to use it, or that if there's multiple powers involved it'll be hard jungle them all.

Honestly if you really want to give a mimic a hard time, put them up against tech guys or "peak human" adversaries,

>Honestly if you really want to give a mimic a hard time, put them up against tech guys or "peak human" adversaries
It's good to know I'm partially on the right track then. I've already plugged this weakness into the character. Copies powers, nothing else.
>or that if there's multiple powers involved it'll be hard jungle them all.
I had this one on my mind but have been debating it. Power mixing is the coolest shit ever but at full power it may be extremely busted.

You don't have to take things like power mixing of the table, your mimic can start of with alot of limitations which they can learn to surpass or better mitigate over time. With something like power mixing you can still do it, you just have to show that it's a hard and complex thing to do.
