I dont get it guys...

I dont get it guys, why do modern diverse audiences view a character that was created in the 40s as a personification of the unlimited power that white heterosexual American males think they have, as outdated and unrelatable?

1930’s actually

>a character that was created in the 40s as a personification of the unlimited power that white heterosexual American males
I don't know. Why do you have a picture of Superman though?

>as a personification of the unlimited power that white heterosexual American males think they have
It's a fantasy character created because a dorky jew was unable to prevent his father's shooting. Do you even know the origin of the first super hero?

That is the wrongest interpretation of Superman I have ever seen.

Even worse than Snyder's.

Congratulations, you are that mentally retarded.

>That is the wrongest interpretation of Superman I have ever seen.
explain how to properly interpret him then

Did you know that he was created by two jewish boys?

big blue boy scout. the platonic ideal of a superhero and the ultimate good guy role model

to add, hes white bc his creators were white(jewish). his skin color is irrelevant to his values and character, the kents could have been black farmers and all that would matter is that they raised him to be a good man and do his best for other people

He's a guy from kansas trying to do good.

>a personification of the unlimited power that white heterosexual American males think they have

Know this is bait, but I'll respond because you're not too far off. Superman started off as wish fufillment, two Jews with no power or girls, creating the personification of unlimited power that they wish they had! I think you have the same wish-fufillment that those 2 kids had.

IMO, many people confuse Capt. Marvel(Shazam) with Superman because the two have traded places in the past decades. Originally, Superman was the wish-fufillment of having unlimited power, Capt Marvel was the paragon of virtue.

>Superman is outdated and unrelatable that's why no one wants to watch a movie about him
That explains why the movie grossed over $668M, wiseguy.

he's jewish. he's a sci-fi moses in the bulrushes.

Superman originally was the guy who beat up wife-beaters. In Time magazine before WWII Superman heads over to Germany and the USSR to capture Hitler and Stalin before WWII can start. He forced the governor to pardon an innocent man before his execution!. If anything ever happenned that Superman couldn't take care of, he'd get new super-powers to take care of it!

Of course, we know that none of this would have actually worked in real life, the beaten wife would get back with the wife-beater, arresting sovereign leaders would START wars, not end them! And any pardon done under duress would be null and void, making Superman an enemy of the state instead of kow-toting to him. But that's how wish-fufillment works!

(You)
Superman started as a power fantasy for common folk, right down to beating up domestic abusers, telling politicians to fuck off, stopping natural disasters, and exposing corrupt institutions.

As time went on Superman became more and more moral, eventually becoming the moral "heart" of the dc universe, but this was added on over decades. Super-Dickery 60's Superman certainly wasn't moral, tricking his girlfriend Lois and best friend Jimmy Olsen over and over again "for their own good!"

ONLY $668m?

They don't, stop immersing yourself in stupid bullshit insipid clickbait articles.

Superman being the moral compass of the world is lame anyway. He's just a good, flawed man trying to help and inspire others.

Superman was created by Jews but raised as a Christian
What's up with that

Charismatic, Heroic, Adventurous, Optimistic, and Savvy

also he has to be Organized, Romantic, Decisive, Empathetic, and Responsable

He used to be a bald psychic villain. When they made him into a chad hero DC slowly made him Christian.

He wasn't ever shown as Christian under Siegel.

It’s not that he’s supposed to be the moral arbiter of the planet, in my opinion.

The planet looks at him like their moral arbiter, and Superman has to live up to those standards.

>Charismatic... Adventurous, Optimistic, and Savvy
So many writers forget these.
He has the heart of a child and the manner of the ideal American everyman.

He was created in the 30's and nobody thinks that you hypercasual.

Same reason why modern diverse audiences view a character that was created in 1264 BC as a personification of the unlimited power that Greeks think they have, as outdated and unrelatable?

In other words, they don't. they just see a cool guy doing cool things.

I'm still surprised they got away with it so effortlessly.

T. Brainlet

>ITT:Superfags trying to rationlize why nobody likes their shitty hero

Funny how according to you, it's so easy to understand and like Superman and yet it's impossible to achieve in any form of media. It's like Kingdom Hearts fans trying to convince everyone their shitty story isn't convoluted.

Superman is a normal guy with some crazy powers. Brainlets in charge of movies dont understand that.

>yet it's impossible to achieve in any form of media
Achieve what? Liking Superman? The shit that the majority of this thread is doing right now while they defend him?

Everybody’s calling you a pleb for not understanding this simple shit, retard.

That's Spider-man. Supes is fucking Hercules and John Carter as a big white dude moses.

Bendis says he's going to emphasize Superman's Jewish roots
>reeee not muh aryan superman! bendis you jew cuck, look after your wife's son instead of infecting superman with your jew propaganda
Someone points out Superman's problematic status as a white straight cisgendered male power fantasy
>reee don't you know he was made up by 2 jews, so he can't possibly reinforce white priviliege, patriarchy, cissexism and hetersexism
Yea Forums is a riot.

Superman TAS was very popular.

>He has the heart of a child and the manner of the ideal American everyman.
>That's Spider-man.
Not even remotely.

>Different people have different takes in different threads.
I can't believe Batfags simultaneously want Bruce to be seen as God almighty and just some dude, what a riot!

spoken like a true retard

>taking, and thus encouraging, the bait
user please go back to 9gag or funnyjunk

Great question, OP. Why indeed?

Attached: Civil War Cap 2 Char_art Sm.png (1540x2823, 4M)

where were you when fucking disney/marvel replaced Superman with Cap in the normie pop-culture pantheon? im so sad

He was a Raoist in Pre-Crisis. Even Post-Crisis up til now he’s never been a Bible Banger. At best he’s a theist, but he’s also fought angels so he’s clearly cool with taking on God.

>and yet it's impossible to achieve in any form of media.
The fuck are you talking about retard? Only place Supes has struggled has been the movies and even then he’s still The Godfather did the superhero film genre with Kevin Feige manadating New MCU directors watch the Donner films. On TV he’s had tons of TV shows and cartoons. He’s had animated movies, including the best selling DC Animated movie ever. Snyder’s dumb ass edgelords take flopped because he’s retarded.

He's the guy with the power to do anything. He is the ultimate example of white privilege that would be exploited as such in the hands of anyone else. But he doesn't do that. He could subjugate the entire world, and physically remake it if he chose to, but he doesn't do that. He is a guy who despite being able to do anything has more faith in our collective capacity to do what is right, which isn't necessarily why he doesn't take over the world and rule us like some tyrannical god emperor, as much as the belief that reinforces his hope and faith in us the keeps him from ever getting cynical. He helps people in need because its the right thing to do, because those beliefs and ideals are what his humble adopted parents instilled and reinforced within him while raising him. So instead of forcing some alien utopia on us, which a significant majority of the population would reject and lash out against, he helps people and keeps us safe with the hope that by doing so he might inspire us to help one another in the comparably minor ways that we can, because he sincerely believes that if we did, we'd be able to bring about that utopia on our own.

I think I said it in another post.
He is strong but not a bully, idealistic but not naive, firm but not stubborn, compassionate but not a pushover, as well as everything else you said.
.

Spider-Man is world-weary and responsible. He's us in that it seems life never goes the way he wants it, he's always behind on his bills, late to work, etc. But he wouldn't want his life any other way.
