You're probably right about a few people, but I genuinely sympathize with Mike. His feelings being bottom priority to everybody for so long resonated with me because I felt like my life was the same way, so even though he's being dragged through the mud right now I feel like his anger has been a long time coming. I honestly don't hate Lucy, either, it's just infuriating the way she acts superior to people while still playing the damaged girl card. I can't really relate to the Sandy thing all that much, but I maintain that he's only sperging out about it all the time because everybody is constantly pressing the Sandy button. She isn't actually the main reason he's upset at these people, but that's their go-to scapegoat.

I don't think he would've gotten this bad if Lucy had never come back. It's not really given a huge spotlight but a huge insecurity for him is that everybody will leave him for Lucy, which means that Sandy HAS to work out for him to have any emotional support at all. Previously it was a thorn in his side, but I think feeling stable in his friend group would've kept him saner than he is now.

Lucy's suicide attempt wasn't subversive; it's one of the least creative parts of a comic which at least seems to want to avoid some stale cliches of high school romances (harping on love triangles, cheating drama, pregnancy scares, etc.).

The cool subversive part of the comic is the climax of the Acapulco arc where, having set up a typical confession scene for the anime tsundere thing it instead reveals the male lead hates the females lead for being insincere and a burden.

I think that's redeemed by it being a red herring; when Sandy actually appears she urges Mike to make up with Lucy. Sandy never wanted Mike to do anything like what he did in "December", she just didn't want him getting treated badly. This means that his explosion in "December" was genuinely a product of his own character.
