Both pictures are showcasing the overwhelming white cast, especially in contrast from the first movie to the last movie. The first movie being made during early days of internet whereas TS4 is being made during the era where a random blogger can point out some random fact and cause a shit storm.

They should have went with Bonnie. They would have been way funnier to play off of Buzz and Jessie than Woody and Bo Peep. Honestly they all should have stayed with Bonnie including Bo. Bonnie would have had new toys and the gang would have been together along with Bo and Woody together in the closet. Fuck that ending.

Toy Story 3 and 4 have just been recycling the same plot beats that 2 already did. 2 already addressed kids growing up. 2 already had a villain who was bitter about not beyond played with. 2 already had Woody separated from the group and debating going back to them.

It's not as if this is the first time Disney have squeezed a popular comedian into their films for no other reason than to have them. Robin Williams in Aladdin, Eddie Murphy in Mulan, Danny DeVito in Hercules. Stunt-casting is a popular marketing ploy, especially when you want to encourage adults to see a movie aimed primarily at kids.

I think Keanu Reeves saved the movie as well as Key and Peele to a lesser extent. All recent Pixar films barely use their side characters and the films suffer as a result.

For me the new characters are the ones who carried the film. Forky, Gabby Gabby, Ducky and Bunny, Duke Caboom and even Giggles McDimples picked up the slack where the main characters fell flat.

The whole "lol Buzz is a sociopath" gag was amusing, but weird. I don't know why they suddenly decided that he doesn't have a conscience and it's even stranger that the whole "inner voice" plot didn't even go anywhere. There was no scene of him finding his inner voice towards the end and leading the toys to help save Woody and Forky or any resolution whatsoever. It was just an extended gag that fizzled out and went nowhere.

Well, it did kinda pay off in the end when he said fuck it and just spoke freely to speak about the backpack being left at the antique store. I admit it was undercooked to say the least, but they did do that at least.

All three characters you just mentioned were integral to the plot. There is a difference between celebrity casting for your characters and inventing characters for the sole purpose of casting celebrities.

It was suppose to set up Buzz understanding Woody's decision to stay with Bo because (I'm merely guessing) without it, it would've been like Woody out of the blue just saying, "I don't want to go back to Bonnie" and Buzz getting offended or something.
