Maggie got a fetish

Maggie has that one medical condition where you stay a baby forever.

Homer routinely kills "maggie", then marge purchases another infant on black market.

Time dilations.

sneed

It's a subtle critique of the infantilization that goes on in the west, where everyone expects to be cared for by a parental figure. You see this with the UBI, the constant requests for the governments to control the equality of outcome and to prevent people's feelings from being hurt, the constant search for immediate gratification instead of delayed gratification with a greater payoff in the future, etc...
Or it could be that those other characters ain't a cultural icon, so they can change while Maggie can't.

Isn't she part alien?

Bad writing

Sliding timescale.

Don't forget Sideshow Bob has a son who can walk and talk and was conceived after Bob became a fugitive.

And you can't even chalk it up to sliding timelines because it was all established in the same episode.

Nobody gives a shit about the other characters so the writers can do whatever the hell they want with them.

The Asian baby and Manjula and her babies are outsiders to Springfield and haven’t been affected by the sliding timescale bubble yet.

This is definitely one of ten dark Simpsons Theories that will keep you up at night.

In order for the characters to stay the same age, they must change generations.

when the Simpsons started, I was Bart's age. Now Homer is younger than me.

if I find out Homer grew up with a Nintendo 64 I'm going to i can't think of anything clever because i'm too sad at the prospect, my family couldn't even afford a Nintendo 64 when it came out.

it's harder to play the reset-button game when you have 30 seasons running one per year and 20 episodes per season at 22 minutes each.

In a short format, it's much easier to have a character that's a bachelor in one, married in another, has a million kids in another, then is a kid himself in another... and if you end one show, you get to start another as a reboot whenever you want! the Simpsons could have done that like three times by now.

Working in the nuclear plant affected Homer’s sperm.

simple, maggie is retarded.

Cannon is fucked up

>my family couldn't even afford a Nintendo 64 when it came out.
NIGGER

I un-ironically still play with my N64

i remember in one of the comics
marge and homer went to see independence day as high schoolers
so it wouldn't be too far fetch nowadays

This pasta is 12 years old. Allow that basin into the house.

Maggey isn't actual a baby. She's a midget with arrested development.

I never did figure out why in the future episodes they don't give her any speaking parts and keep spamming that same stale joke from Lisa's Wedding.

Likely because any voice actor who gets the honor of voicing Maggie for the first time (even if it's for a one-off episode) would demand more presence and eventually become sort of a recurrent role.

I don't think the writers have ever had the guts to try and give her a defined personality. It's really more than they want to deal with.

Or more likely they just don't want to pay for a Maggie VA.

Did you ever get an N64?

>tfw you remember seeing the giant wall of PS1 games at Electronics Boutique and the one skimpy little rack of N64 ones

Yeah, exactly.

Because the joke is that she doesn't talk...

I think his point was more that that joke was funny for one episode and got stale.

You considerably underestimate how lazy Zombie Simpsons writers are.

>Likely because any voice actor who gets the honor of voicing Maggie for the first time (even if it's for a one-off episode
This literally already happened

Didn't Elizabeth Taylor joke that she was paid $5 for 5 seconds of dialog?

Probably but actually she would have gotten the standard $6000 guest star payment.

This is why I am completely against sliding timelines.

Didn't know that.

Yeah the guest star payment rate is $6000 per episode. Also the periphery VAs like Tress and Russi are technically counted as guest stars so they don't have to pay them the same salaries as the main five.

Apu's kids case is even worse. Apu hadn't even married Manjula yet at the start of the series.

Thing is, they could have had Apu and Manjula just have one child and explore their learning how to be parents, but this was Mike Scully's Simpsons so they clearly had no interest in doing that and instead they have eight babies purely for gag purposes.

Maggie got that Gary Coleman disease

Poor Ling. She's going to be totally fucked up and mentally damaged from her upbringing. She'll probably become a cutter or extreme SJW.

She's demonstrated to be possibly smarter than Lisa.

Uggh, don't remind me of Smart and Smarter. Lisa at her worst.

And pay $70 a game.

That "Maggie--Sniper Baby" meme was one of the worst things they ever did.

Maggie is the half human child of Lady Illganyag and along with her supernatural sense of smell she ages extraordinarily slowly

Smacks of Family Guy.

Don't worry about it

The problem with long running animated shows is that there's no requirement to age characters. The core cast has to stay the same so it doesn't turn people off of watching the show while side characters can change at the will of the writers.

What personality would an older Maggie have anyway?

The worse error from the Simpsons is never allow grow up to Bart, Lisa and Maggie.

The reality is that the show is taking place in Lisa's head while she's dying due to childbirth complications. Maggie is actually her daughter and she's hallucinating the perfect life where she's raised as a sister. The reasons these other characters age is because the longer the hallucination goes on, the closer to reality it becomes, so the longer Lisa is stuck in this dream, the closer she gets to getting pregnant in the dream.

You can go even further for Apu. Remember he was a bachelor. Even the episode with the birth of his kids had a 9 month time skip in it.

Please lay off the ketamine, dude.

I guess she's hinted as being a tomboy and probably musically talented, maybe more so than Lisa.

Shut up Sodomite. Go to work and hope to get lynched by your sexual harassment victim. But it doesn't happen does it? That's because no body wants to play with you.

Cordless has written a Simpsons spinoff called Maggie & Eric that takes place 10 years after the main show ends. His work is on DeviantArt if you're interested in checking it out.

Fuck off, you pasty trap loser.

You do know that the second two aren't Ling, right?

Fanart idea for an older Maggie (she's aged up to, oh, Lisa's age)

>Homer is sitting on the couch watching TV
>Maggie is sitting on the couch next to him playing with a Gameboy
>she's wearing a dress or skirt
>Ned Flanders walks in and says "Homer, I need to diddly talk to you. Did you steal my refrigerator?"
>Homer looks over and says "Ned, I know it looks bad, but..." (turns to Maggie) "Maggie, could you put your legs down a little?"
>'cause she's not wearing any underwear under her skirt

Like Stewie?

Maggie is secretly a lich in disguise.

So Maggie is Little Audrey?

Fucking lewd man.

When isn't she?

This is some SCP shit.
Jesus Christ.

Reminder that this guy claims the writers stole his idea for roid abuser Milhouse.

Zombie show. It died over a decade ago, but still lives.

That movie used to be empire strike backs. youtube.com/watch?v=MwZRFA0cLaM

They try with the future episodes, too bad they all suck.

Sure, but is easy to make people mad with it.

That CBG girlfriend episode was just absolutely horrible and smacked of writer self-insert fantasy.

Yeah, we should all be happy to work for free!

cashier being "too good" to do side shit like cleaning before leaving IS becoming a problem though.

And stagnant wages have been a problem for decades. So what?

meanwhile 40 years ago you could get a cushy job at a factory and have enough money to pay for two families.

is there any porn of the selma's kid?

40 years ago was 1979 so no you could not.

Oh boy...

Fine 50 years ago.

summon who?

Exactly, all the pedos are already here, who's left to summon?

Time does not affect those who live inside of Springfield's area of effect unless they came from outside of Springfield and permanently moved there.

Once a person has made the city their home the time effect only slowly begins affecting them, slowing down the process until it ultimately stops. Most of the time this is not noticable but in the case of children or infants they tend to undergo a mini-growth spurt before stabilizing. This effect even affects newborn infants as they "move to Springfield" the moment they leave the womb.

The cases of Apu's collegiate nephew and Cletus' musical daughter further clarify the effect as both moved away from Springfield. Apu's nephew aged dramatically while away, transforming from a child around Bart's age into a fully grown adult when he came back to Springfield. Cletus' daughter however seems to have aged very little since moving to Capitol City but this could be due to Capitol City being indirectly connected to Springfield in obscurity or potentially because she never stopped thinking of Springfield as her "home."

that MS Paint Chinese baby guy

sliding time scale.

You guys should definitely read on Anatoly Fomenko's New Chronology, in which basically a lot of historical events as we know them actually took place within the same timeframe, making human history much shorter than initially expected: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Chronology_(Fomenko)
Sure it has been debunked but basically it could apply to The Simpsons by saying a lot of episodes actually take place at the same time, folded into the same continuity, while some events are dragged by time differently so they give the illusion of progression. In truth we're witnessing the show in a fourth dimensional standpoint, allowing past and future take concurrently in the present, so the main characters interact equally with others from the future while their objective passage of time has only been a few months at most. They don't age because it hasn't happened long enough for them to do so.

cleaning before closing? Yeah, no problem. Working for free 30-40 minutes after your shift is done? that's a problem.

The Simpsons' house was built over an indian cemetery that grants them inmortality at the cost of their sanity.

Looks like what he posted touched a nerve. You upset you big baby

Having the family grow up would have breathed a little life into the show but I'm sure they would have turned that idea into a lazy cashgrab anyway.

30 seasons with 20 episodes a season means that we’ve seen, at least, 600 days of the Simpson’s life. Even if every episode is just one day that means that we’ve at the very least nearly two years of their lives. This should mean something but I can’t think of what.
