Looking at it Ahmed's decision to take her into space for this dumb story and away from what people liked (Jersey City, her supporting cast, goofy shit) seems to be an even bigger mistake. Issue 3 sold 18,000 and change. Only about two and a half thousand more than shit like the adaptation of that Wolverine narrative podcast or Major X and below moribund X-Men books like long-past-caring Age of X-Man tie-ins and X-Force.

First issue debuted weak at 27,000 but retained most of its readership for issue 2 at 26,000. It shed almost 10,000 readers for issue 3. It debuted at barely above cancellation numbers and three issues in is well below them. What a failure this relaunch has been both on the creative front and the sales front.

Quick relaunches don't work, her sales are going back to where Wilson left just like how champions fell back to it's pre-relaunch numbers. You can't end a comic and restart a month later and expect to triple the numbers. It didn't work for any book when Axel Alonso was doing that yearly restart.

Kamala's last book was sub20k since the voting chapter. All of the books Kamala is in team-up,rising,champions, magnificent are all sub20 in less than 5 chapters. Team-up and Mag were massively overshipped to hide the poor sales. Kamala just doesn't sell.

They're in a life or death situation. They need to listen to their daughter with superpowers.

Comics in general just don't sell.

I really, really fucking hate Bruno. Honestly him and Kamala and their forced, no chemistry romance was the worst part of Ms. Marvel. That book was more or less carried by the strong supporting cast (namely Nakia, Zoe and Mike) who were all a lot more developed, interesting or likable. It says a lot that IMO the best arc of Wilson's run was the one that involved Kamala being gone for 90% of it so it focused on all the better characters.

Also Bruno fucking off to Africa without telling his girlfriend then coming back without telling her and immediately just going up to Kamala at school and all he says to Mike is "my bad" and gets away with it. What a fucking shitter.

That's because Kamala is Fake Popular, much like X-23 and Carol. She's "popular" because Marvel forces her into everything, constantly gives her high profile roles, markets the shit out of her and makes sure she's never without a book be it an ongoing or as one of the centerpieces of a team book.

The only trade of Kamala's that sells consistently is the first TPB of the pre-Secret Wars series.

And I imagine the only ones who buy those TPBs are schools and libraries for book fair fodder.

That is exactly there is such a huge gap between the first volume and the rest. No normal pops up in the diamond list every other month with 100-300 orders. Not to mention the digital sales would reflect similar numbers if it was actual people ordering it.

You can't accurately judge trades and digital sales because companies don't report them. All you have to go on is hearsay.

Carol is noone's haremette. Everyone else is a sub.
