Your specific example is stupid, simply because organ trasplants require, y'know, another organ. Which, until organ cultivation is perfected, may take months until you actually find one from a donor (also, the fuckton of blood you have to transfuse to even get the damn thing to work).

You could try to argue about getting an appendectomy or a surgical bone reduction, but then you wouldn't have an argument, because that's the kind of thing they immediately operatefor regardless.

Really, the biggest problem is the waiting time for specialized visits. And, even then, it's not like you can shovel cash yourself to just get a whole MRI Scan machine just for you.
