It’s ironic because that’s all this character is trying to do is prove herself in both a literal and meta sense. In the both the comics and in real life she is being hailed as this great hero but at the end of the day all of her supposed greatness feels hollow and unearned. No matter how much Marvel wants her to be the next Spider-Man she will always be at the end of the day just another forgettable C-list Avenger.

Entertaining hero stories do just that though. We see their abilities and beliefs challenged so we can see their strength overcome these things. She was never truly challenged by anything in her movie thus it was incredibly boring.
