Why does Yea Forums seem to completely despise Tom Holland's Spider-Man?
I can understand simply not liking him, but he just seems to make people here seethe whenever he's brought up.
Yeah, he's not a 1:1 comic adaptation, but in the context of the MCU, he works pretty well.
Why does Yea Forums seem to completely despise Tom Holland's Spider-Man?
They mainly want him to be more self sufficient and believe he’s too dependent on Tony.
he's a twink faggot
He's Spider-Man in name and costume only. He's even less accurate than the last two assholes
Everyone on Earth has a different idea of how Peter should be and none of them agree.
making Miles white was pretty bold, you have to give them that
He's a teenage boy starting high school. Everybody looks like that at that age. Well, if you were a disgusting fat boy, it's not our fault.
There's nothing wrong with him. He's different from the last two iterations that we got, that's fine. He seems to borrow a lot from Miles that's ok too. I kinda miss Older out of school Parker though. But it's not like Older Parker isn't still around or not getting plenty of content.
Miles is a better character than Holland's Peter
Or at least he was before they put him in 616
taking 50 issues to tell half of an origin story was TOO bold for me, user
Peter should be a loser but not a little bitch.
Were you expecting the Yea Forums echo chamber not to be retarded?
The people in charge of the MCU admitted that Tom Holland's Spider-Man isn't even Peter
It's Miles Morales with a name and skin change.
Pic Related, even his fat best friend is a carbon copy of Miles' best friend Ganke.
People on Yea Forums like Spider-Man and get angry when he's presented with core deviations from his personality, such as:
1) An over-dependency on other characters, like Tony Stark or Nick Fury giving him missions and telling him what to do.
2) (This is a personal of mine) Him activating the instant kill mode on his fucking iron-spider suit. Ever.
I mean, even if you wave it off as "It was mindless space monsters, who gives a shit" it pisses me off that the suit does all the killing automatically, robbing Spider-Man of agency even then.
Too awkward that it's almost flanderization. Supporting cast is underisable state. MJ is a black female. Centered too much around Stark too early in his career with barely any mention of Uncle Ben. A dislike to the talking AI and UI that it makes the suit look like Iron Lad 2.0. They keep removing his mask when Peter's secret identity has always been important. Barely any Peter Parker luck.
Marvel or Sony hasn't really given me enough to believe that they'll do this character properly. They seem so intent on modernizing him when modernizing him will always result in an inferior characterization.
I don't. I like him a lot, actually.
Honest I dont mind the whole interaction with Stark since this is the first time in movie history he has any kind of interpersonal relationship with other marvel heroes. Before it was him against the world with no heroes crossing over.
So having Iron Man, the guy who kickstarted the cinematic universe was a smart move.
Anyone who complains about the Rubble Scene not having Uncle Ben tell him with great power comes great responsibility outs themselves as a casual.
That line was never exclusive to Uncle Ben, it's first appearance was the final panel of Amazing Fantasy #15, and only became an Uncle Ben quote because of the Ultimate Universe and Raimi (and that scene itself was just ripping the quote back from Teen Wolf).
It's not as much of a Spider-Man movie as it's a Junior Iron Man movie
Its simple: he's not Raimi Spiderman. He's not meme material
You're mad that Peter Parker is a scrawny pretty boy?
Peter Parker is a nerd, not a bitch boy
Raimi Spider-Man was always more focused.
Usual Peter Parker money and life problems
Romantic subplot with Mary Jane
Mentor or friend that went bad after an accident
The movies are only 90 minutes and it always centered on Peter. The CGI in the first two is arguably better than the stuff they have now. The CGI in Homecoming and in FFH trailer looks way more elastic and rubbery than usual. The movement looks extremely unnatural.
they just hate it because Tom is bisexual
He's a whiny twat that wanted to film in London because he's a diva even though Spider-Man is a NY hero. He's also too dependant on Tony and hasn't really come out of his own shell as a super hero.
thats the main rpoblem with these renditions of a teenage/high schooler spiderman
we need an adult spiderman at his peak
>actually thinking that Tom insisted that the film take place in Europe
Thank you user for proving OP's point.
I don't think anyone can make a serious argument that what Spider-man really needs is yet another rehash of his standard personal drama.
I'm talking about the actor Captain Autismo, he's 22 and has the body of a 13 year old gaymer
I don't know many 13-year-olds who look like that.
I'm going to watch the movies but only after I saw him in the Avengers movies - he seems to capture the character well: an insecure high school student who's completely out of his depth.
I think they nailed the idea of a beginner Spider-Man in the MCU - he's completely out of his league in terms of fighting. He's going around catching low level stuff while he's thrust into a war. It's a bit like complaining that an amateur bar fighter is worried about fighting a pro level boxer
Why is it always normal fags who clearly dont read Miles always saying this?
Spider-Man in general bores me nowadays, I was a fan of him as a kid but he no longer is the hero that I look forward to see in the big screen.
I love him.
He's barely Spider-Man, it's like they took the worst aspects of USM and put him in six fucking movies.
FUUUUUUUUUUU
SION
HA!
You do know the creators themselves and Kevin Feige all said that the MCU Peter is based heavily on Miles Morales, right?
Please read before shitting up our board.
I don;t like how they made him stupid and how he completely relies on other people for his tech.
I just don't like a Spider-Man constantly seeking validation from other heroes. Plus I'm over the high school thing. That was only a portion of Peter's life, and isn't a requirement that makes him interesting.
Most reasonable hate I've seen is how tied he is to Tony Stark in MCU. IronMan is his on screen inspiration while Uncle Ben might have been mentioned in name.
MCU really wanked IronMan too much and connects too much to him almost directly or indirectly.
I don't like how a teenager with no special training casually invented a wonder material that continued to elude the world's superscientists long after they knew of its existence.
Motherfucker we're in a world with Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, Hank Pym, and Tony Stark. Let the damn kid invent webbing
That's exactly why I don't like it. If I can put up with the webbing, anything else gets a pass from me no matter who comes up with it.
Because he's not spiderman.
>Spider-suit! KILL
I will never not be mad.
It was mentioned in Spider-Man vs. Wolverine in the 80's that Uncle Ben said the quote at least once.
It didn't "elude" super scientists. Christ Reed probably came up with the same formula on a napkin, threw it in a desk drawer, and then moved on to something more interesting
>probably
It's not even a question really. Have you seen the shit Reed makes? He even duplicated Pym Particles
>headcanoning
See now you're just being a faggot
Look at all that evidence of nothing you're presenting. Are you even aware you're arguing about an irrelevant rhetorical point?
remember dragon ball:evolution
he's that for spider-man
My main problem with MCU Spider-man is that I seriously believe that they fucked up by trying to turn Tony Stark into a paternal figure to Peter.
The fact that he is under the shadow of a bigger, more stablished hero kinda takes away from the idea of Peter being his own hero and turns him into a sidekick. The fact that he uses Stark tech on his suit and he even has his own fucking AI system doesn't really help.
Spider-man is supposed to be the underdog, a normal kid who wants to do the right thing, even if that means being at ods with The Avengers, SHIELD or the FF. The MCU Spider-man is to busy sucking Tony's dick to be his own hero.
>and only became an Uncle Ben quote because of the Ultimate Universe
Untrue, Uncle Ben didn't say it in the Ultimate Universe. Martin Sheen said it almost verbatim how it was said in 1610.
You have spiderverse now.
>13 year old gamers can do fucking backflips on command
kys
I don't think we all hate him, I don't, I just hate how everyone and everything around him don't remind me of Spider-man from the comics.
Honestly, as long as he never works at the Bugle again, I'll be fine. I'm just so fucking over it.
Why do people believe that he's always and forever going to be Tony's bitch? Iron Man is dead now, no less, and you guys still go on about this shit. Remember when Thor was a relatively serious character? God forbid we spend some time on a relationship between Spidey and another hero for a while.
He's not Spider-Man, he's Tony Stark's little butt boy. Also it's weird how they replaced all of his supporting cast with ugly brown people.
>Why do people believe that he's always and forever going to be Tony's bitch?
He was literally introduced as Tony's mindless attack dog. It doesn't matter if he changes, the core of his character has been established.
I think Tom Holland could play a great Spider-Man. The problem is that this character is not Spider-Man.
>T'Challa was introduced as a revenge-obsessed warrior king
>Thanos was introduced as a remorseless bully
>Tony was introduced as a war profiteer
>Thor was introduced as an arrogant prick bent on genocide
>Coulson was introduced as a robotic nobody
>Rhodie was introduced as Terrence Howard
"It doesn't matter if he changes, the core of his character has been established!"
MISTER STARK MY TESTICLES ARE FINALLY DROPPING
Because we are 5 movies in with this Spider-Man and he has been nothing but Tony's bitch through all of them.
By this point that's already part of his character.
It's not the kid's fault but the character sucks. The Stark stuff is just counter to who Spider-Man really is, simple as that.
Only thing I don't like is how he never calls Tony out when Tony berates him. 616 Peter would have told Tony to go fuck himself.
I imagine that's what the new movie will cover and by the end he'll be what everyone wants him to be. Then you all can bitch about something else.
I bet you are one of those people who thought that Emma Watson had enough pull in the first Harry Potter movie to say no to prosthetic teeth.
>Yeah, he's not a 1:1 comic adaptation, but in the context of the MCU, he works pretty well.
Yeah, but the MCU fucking sucks.
>Works pretty well
Doc Strange confuses him for Stark's steward.
This is the second MCU solo Spider-Man movie and Tony is still a major part of the story, and the motherfucker is dead.
