I mean I like the game myself, and think it's a great work of art, and I wouldn't call the gameplay awful. But it was really extremely basic. It's clearly much more about the art than the gameplay itself - outside of the context of the art, it's an utterly mediocre game

It’s already fucked mate, if it had a release date this year it would have been announced at E3. The same thing happened with the base game; it didn’t show up at E3 2016 despite having an ETA that year, and it ended up delayed.

I've been slowly making progress through the Switch version.

This game sits on my steam library, mocking me.
I could never complete this game without a controller, using the keyboard makes it near impossible.

Art style only gets a game so far. Especially if it's not an established series. Look at Skullgirls. Top-tier spritework, never very popular. Undertale looked like shit but people liked the "gameplay" and "story" enough to buy it.
A lot of people bought Cuphead for Dark Souls-type reasons, just to see if they could beat a challenging game.

To be fair, good spritework means nothing when the character designs are as garbage as most of Skullgirls are.

They're no more wacked out than most fightan character designs. All the great fighting games have at least one freak.

Funnily enough he was one of the easier bosses. I still died a bunch but I expected worse. The Lobber completely shits on him during the fire imp part. Also they telegraph which direction they are going so it's pretty easy to dodge them since you just have to jump the opposite direction. I didn't even have to look at them to doge, just see with the corner of my eye where they were facing, with my focus being on moving platforms

Orange and teal hands-on-head girl, toothy haired schoolgirl, ez-guro catgirl, it's not "at least one" it's "all but one." That one being the tuba guy. And I guess the evil nun boss because she's supposed to look gross.
