That's like rejecting a castmate from the celebration of a play because everyone hates them for the character that they perform as. As for Felix and the gang, I suppose it's possible that they got too used to shunning Ralph, but from the dialogue, it does sound like Ralph and Felix had talked to one another a bit prior to the movie, just with very little success.
