If nothing else, it seems like it'd be the least convoluted verison of Flashpoint to date.
Because Flashpoint breached the cultural membrane by being the last big thing before DC rebooted their universe completely so it's now the only story the general public is aware of regarding Flash.

Ezra was the one that loved Morrison’s and Millar’s tryhard grimdark script in the first place and why it was even considered. Heck, he left because they refused to do the grimdark script.
It's also cemented Reverse Flash as Barry's only real villain. CW Flash could've done more to prevent this, but they botched the Rogues completely. I'm never going to get over how Cold was done. Absolute waste of Wentworth Miller.

It's a very poorly-structured story in cinematic terms, at least from OP's rundown. Too many characters and at the same time enough, stakes too high, escalation too fast. Pretty messy.
