Because it's a fantasy, slice of life show. The characters are endearing and fun, the plots are interesting, and it's just overall fun. While there are plenty of background women, people only care about Johanna and The Librarian so that can't be it.

Mostly for the light adventures and setting. The characters are enjoy enough to get the job done and the plots are simple enough to not get in the way. Sure it needs some more at times but other then that does it's job.
