Yes. She never got to go out and see the world. But I think she was ruined before that. Just look at all the concept art that shows her out and exploring all these new places. The first movie went through so many directors and rewrites, it looks like it started out much more as her story, but she ended up relegated to a distant second to generic Adam Sandler Count Dracula. And this young girl hungry for adventure is just a more sympathetic hook.
Think I prefer her in the cartoon honestly- she's got a lot more personality there.

In my idea, humans drove the monsters underground, not because humans are mean, evil bigots but because the monsters were genuinely evil man eating creatures of the night. But now they've reformed themselves.... to a degree.
Mavis would have a soft spot for humans, particularly her human companion escorting her throughout the world. She'd even consider making him her thrall, a human granted longer youth in order to serve her but not a full fledged vampire. She'd be friendly enough but still have the air of an alpha predator amongst her prey.

I mean Johnny is the only thing I hate about Hotel Transylvania. If they changed everything about him, I would have no problems with her getting married. As for her character, I like what was shown so far. In 3 she had alot of character moments where you see pic related level of vampire queen behavior. I want more of that Mavis, genki girl is fine but I want her to be more then that. Selena Gomez is talented, she can pull that off no problem.
