Thing is I've seen the same stuff with every race. Dark skin edits of anime characters or hate if a character isn't dark enough in official color art.

I don't think it's anti-whiteness, just the general attitude of "it's okay when WE do it" or "it's our turn now" which some people think is how equality works.

I'm pretty glad to be a brown/light black person and not an average or even dark Indian, not gonna lie.
Their skin almost looks grey when black or brown, while black people's skin has a sort of glow to it. You can always tell the difference. It's weird.

If they're American, a lot of them probably have a white gaze mentality. All they see in anything, even the most subjective content, is white, and it gives them a huge inferiority complex. They literally worship white people in their heads, and they don't know how to overcome it, so it drives them insane. That's why some of them (ironically enough) follow the lead of white guilt types and LARP that turning a Japanese character morbidly obese with caricatured features like huge noses/lips, vitiligo and pimples is somehow "empowering" even though there's nothing inherently "white" about neutral-looking, small features (and yes, black people can and do have small features). That's also why many of them won't ever truly be happy with a cute black character. They will either need to find a problem somewhere, they'll almost completely ignore it to uphold the white characters, or they'll get angry and insist being cute is a "white" feature and demand huge-ass nostrils and/or a giant ass.

I first realized this when I saw a black person insist all anime characters are white by default, and that Japanese people want to be white. She got very, very angry when multiple other people disagreed. She sounded exactly like white weeaboos who desperately want anime characters to be white to uphold their worldview, and that's when I noticed that's pretty much exactly what she was on the inside. The only difference is that while a white weeb needs it to be that way to suit their superiority complex, the black weeb needs it to be that way to suit their inferiority complex.

No, Satan. Contrary to American belief, black people don't all look one way. A slim nose or thin lips are not necessarily white features, especially when you look at certain Nigerian ethnic groups (or even if you look to East Africa, though a subset of them have Semitic mixture).
Friendly reminder that people of African descent actually have the most genetic diversity and variation in facial features, body build, etc.
From what I've seen, white people have the most variation in eye/hair coloration, and other races vary mostly in skintone.
