I'm trying to remember an old comic's name, and after several fruitless hours of trying to track it down, I could only think to try asking you guys if anyone here might know it.
It was a full color comic of poor quality and involved a guy's soul being transported to another world by an evil sorcerer, and ending up being put inside the body of a female fox with fire powers. The fox was also evil.
The artist stopped updating the comic after attempting to redraw the original pages 'better' but arguably did an even worse job the second time around. His first attempt had a sort of charm to it in its simplicity.
I wish I hadn't stopped keeping track of it, because now I wish I could reread some of those old pages and am at a loss as to where I could find them.
Any help would be much appreciated. Pic unrelated.
If it helps narrow it down or jog a memory, the sorcerer is basically all powerful, lives in a tower with a single henchman, and is trying to open a portal to 'Earth' for some reason, I think as a 'because I can' thing. It causes an explosion, and part of opening the portal involved finding two matched souls, but he accidentally instead ripped the guy from earth and stuck him in the body of a powerful and evil female fox creature to share the body with.
Nolan Cox
Was it western but drawn in manga style? A webcomic? This sort of sounds familiar.
Liam Green
Definitely western. The artist was extremely rough and inexperienced.
The comic is at least 10 years old, and likely inactive or maybe even lost.
Been scrubbing through The Belfry WebComics Index for many hours now while I try to log in to PBE. Riot needs better servers.
Austin Cruz
I will literally open them all up in a thousand tabs and alt-tab through them to freaking find it if possible. I need to scratch this itch. Thanks for the link.
Aaron Martinez
>female fox with fire powers
I hate being one to ask, but... like a four legged fox?
It might not be on any of these lists, btw. It's a very old and fairly obscure comic that probably doesn't even exist anymore. Still digging, but it's looking like tvtropes doesn't know about it, although it DOES know about many very similar webcomics that I still read that I thought were obscure too, so maybe there's hope.
My best bet is it's either in the inactive or 'lost' section of the belfry comic index.
Jayden Edwards
I think it starts off four legged, but when possessed by the soul of the MC she because anthropomorphic. Hates humans. Shamelessly sexual.
Connor Walker
Sounds like boku no pico
Henry Scott
A quick alf-f of "fox' only gets me 7 returns with none of them being what you want, Fey WInds would probably be the closest.
Parker Phillips
Not nearly that bad, but possibly more cringe. Don't remember enough to make that call though, so want to revisit it to see for myself and jog my memory.
Christopher Ross
Been doing key-word searches of all these webcomic databases. It might literally just be too old for any of these newer lists to contain it.
Samuel Diaz
90's era, looking at other comics there's Foxfire Chronicles (probably not it based off the synopsis),
Ayden Russell
Been utilizing the Belfry, and feel like I'm closing in on it, if it is indeed contained in their expansive lists. It's only a mater of time and willpower.
But yea, 90's sounds right. but could also be in the mid to late 2000's.
Elijah Reed
What did some of the characters look like? Can you attempt to draw something?
Where did you read it?
Lincoln Bailey
>My best bet is it's either in the inactive or 'lost' section of the belfry comic index.
That could be a good start. If you can get a name or address, it'd probably be on the Wayback Machine.
>Shamelessly sexual.
How sexual? Content ratings could narrow it down on Belfry.
Wyatt White
I can't remember any details of what any characters looked like for certain, and can't draw... but I do remember that the 'main party' in the beginning is a classic dnd group of an armor clad swordsman, a weak(ish) female mage, and maybe a few others whose memory is too vague to discern in my minds eye. They were attacked by the feral fox creature who was probably going to kill them, and certainly was doing damage and I think there was blood, before the explosion and the possession.
I think i remember a panel with the MC's 'soul' bouncing around the room in the evil wizards tower while the wizard tries to catch him, but he flies out a window to the fox. out in a forest.
The quest then becomes for the fox and the mc to find the tower, confront the wizard, and fix things. Things cannot be fixed of course.
I think the wizard does manage to finally make the portal to earth work though, and there's a few moments where he doesn't know what cellphones are and stuff.

The wayback machine is a good idea if the link doesn't work, thanks for the info.
It had mild nudity, sexual references, adult humor. mostly only happens immediately after the soul yeeting.
Daniel Williams
Jesus, what google must think of my browsing history now...
Also, I remember that the author changed the name of the comic when he decided to 'reboot it', failing miserably in the process. I think part of the reason he rebooted was also because he wrote himself into a corner and had writers block as a result.
Ethan Morales
Gonna take a break, play some lol with family. If post is still here after that, will continue the search through brute force. I feel like I'm getting closer and closer, I can almost taste it.
Camden Thompson
Well I learned about Belfry which led me to discover Chocolate Milkmaid.
Yup, have been using other webcomics I followed at the time to try and date it as well, and mid late 2000's is my best estimate too.
That's a pretty good panel. Am definite gonna read it.
Jace Hernandez
Still brute forcing comic archives. No bingo yet, and might be futile since right now only checking working links. Will almost certainly end up needing to manually input a ton of url's into the way back machine.
Grayson Davis
OP I remember this comic, but I can't find it, it was by a british guy I think. I also remember the website address didn't have the comic name in it, and I remember that because it was the first webcomic I ever bookmarked back in 2005ish because I could remember the name of the comic but not the site it was on
Jose Nguyen
It's a real pickle, right? So many elements coming together to make figuring this thing out damn near the hardest thing I've ever done. Not quitting til I've got pictures.
Landon Sullivan
So i did some digging and the comic I was think of probably isn’t the one you want, but I did think it was interesting that the guy deleted 400 pages because he was redrawing it from the beginning, before scrapping it again.
It was called Foxtails by Fallon Willard.
Jason Wright
>Foxtails
The art style is incredibly familiar, and the story shares a LOT of elements, but it isn't the one. I really appreciate the digging though.
Even the guy's name seems familiar, Fallon Willard. I'm going to look through all his stuff super fast to be certain (his site is crazy responsive).
Jackson Carter
Yea, definitely not the correct artist at all, also learned Fallon is a woman's name. Go figure.
But the style and story is so similar, as well as the age of the comic, that I can't help but suspect that maybe she was inspired by this same comic that I'm looking for.
Aaron Fisher
Man this is grueling. I've shifted through SO many comics. I've got to be getting close to finding it.
Taking another break. Finally logging into PBE.
Ayden Carter
Got screwed by the login queue for PBE twice in a row, still waiting in line to log in. Been doing this for many, many hours... and while I've been waiting been going through hundreds, maybe thousands, of webcomics.
I'm starting to suspect it's definitely in the 'lost' catagory, and further progress is going to be much, much slower as I 'way back machine' every url instead of just using hotkeys to quickly open a bunch of potential links in new tabs and then close them just as quickly after verifying they aren't it.
Also still trying to remember the name of the comic itself or its characters, as that would very quickly help to narrow the search down, but all I got is that the comic name was changed and I think both were single words and stupid sounding, and that the foxes name was on-the-nose, and that the evil sorcerer was something similar to dr. doom... and I think his henchman had a humped back, but not sure.
Wyatt Rivera
I swear to god Fox Tails ticks almost every box EXCEPT it's the wrong comic. It's hurting me. I keep checking back on the comic page thinking I must have missed something.
Matthew Thomas
Well, haven't fully exhausted the Belfry yet, but have pretty thoroughly checked all the most likely places to look in it's lists (including the lost section) using deduction to speed things along. Not there.
There are other lists though, so am going search through those too one by one. Still waiting to log in to PBE.
Eli Lee
Maybe Fox Tails is already the reboot you mentioned?
Kevin Sanders
I am way to emotionally invested in this thread.
Kayden Diaz
Seriously, I am going to have a bad day unless this guy finds his shitty webcomic. This will haunt me for weeks.
story about a fox bitch kumiho in the 1960s that wants that american dick so she can jump over to the states where 'muricans don't know what the hell a kumiho is and don't know how to stop her
Potential series I've seen on TV Tropes, Fur Will Fly (guy gets sucked into another dimension but he's not a furry yet, doesn't seem to include a D&D like group so probably not it).
