Non-diamond gems are ridiculously weak against an actual threat. White diamond seems like she can only affect gems. Blue diamond might be able to affect the lanterns' willpower. I think Yellow diamond has the best chance against the lanterns, assuming that her attacks behave like actual electricity, and aren't nerfed against anything that isn't a gem.

As for OP's question it really depends since The Gem Empire is pretty powerful outside of the jobbers that were sent to Earth (mostly the Rubies) and they have light-distortion tech like the destabilzers so if they work on light constructs it may be a fair fight.

YELLOW diamond slaps their shit down and there is absolutely nothing they can do about her. Gem Empire remains and Lanterns go home missing a few soldiers.

Zim, the species-wide town fool, has single grenades that can destroy entire planets, dimensional manipulation, the ability to freeze time. Their mothership flew through a star without the slightest damage.

They can heal broken spines, have summoned Lovecraftian star-entities, have a robotic hive-mind that means whoever kills them may essentially become them.

Gems can’t beat the Irkens, they’re essentially Xeelee.

Zim is an insanely talented inventor though just insane even by Irken standards, all the rest of their doomsday tech was created by enslaved Vortians.

They made their own tech, that’s how invader Larb managed to enslave their species.

The only vortian piece of tech we saw was the resisty ship and that was garbage compared to Irken ones.

The Gem empires entire management makes the Imperium of Mans management look like a regular Tuesday. The diamonds (excluding Steven) aren’t that interested in affairs pertaining to other species. White herself is too busy doing fuck all in her Torso Spaceship prior to Steven showing up on Homeworld.

I’d say maybe send Guy, Simon, Jessica and Kilowog there to sort out the Empire. If it gets really fucky send in Kyle or Hal to sort things out.

Gem's are like balloons, they can take high amounts of physical beating but add a bit of piercing damage and they pop.

Zim is actually one of the smartest Irkens who ever lived It's just he has the social skills of an ameba. He was the one who ran the Operation Impending Doom 1 and one of his creations was able to kill one of the past tallest.
Also going through a star isn't really that impressive, doesn't even make you planetary.

Given how many times the entire GLC has shown up only to job, I think we can agree they work on inverse ninja law. Then we have to look at how strong gems are, and while it's pretty dubious, they do have MFTL terraformers and White Diamond seems to have destroyed their home planet on accident, and one of the oldest pieces of Gem technology we've seen can control time. They're not the strongest as far as sci-fi goes, but they're not completely useless.

It's weird how despite dunking on Superman every chance he could get, Miller seemed to always like Hal.

Most of the xeelee hax gadgets they made (portals, time-displacement devices, universe-destroying nukes) were explicitly made by the Irkens themselves.

They are sometimes lazy as fuck though, they’d probably use Vortians as a slave race for mass-production

I'm still framing their tech base from the bullshit time crystal, though, so I'm not convinced they really need an "I win" button to beat the Corp, especially since the GL can't be that strong lest they show up Superman when doing League shit, and god forbid any of the people who can beat his ass actually demonstrate it.
