>So will it actually have soul?

No, but get ready for rumors about Bob Chapek wanting it in the Haunted Mansion.

Someone make a soulless edit.

>soulless

>Pixar movie
>Its named fucking "Soul"
They knew this would happen

>Disney PIXAR's "Based"
how based will it actually be?

This will be the most soulless original pixar movie yet

>disney pixar’s “Cringe”

I'm unironically bracing for this

>Modern Pixar
>Soul

What if emotions had emotions?

Pixar is finally going back to original films. The string of them started with Toy Story 3, it makes sense it finally stops with Toy Story 4

Modern Pixar includes Inside Out which had plenty of Soul

How did I even know this was a Pete Docter film by just looking at the title?

>"Soul"
In China it will be renamed " " because it won't be shown in China.

>movie titled “soul”
Are the characters going to be black?

So it's white people Coco?

>CGI
No chance.

Are you stupid?

>"soul"
>has a sun in the logo

Actually pretty funny pun.

Seems like Pixar wants some of that Spider-Verse money.

Dang, and I was hoping Yea Forums was wrong about this one.

The expanded description makes it sound like Coco and Doctor Strange.

Wrong about what? They announced this months ago

Well yes this is Pixar that's kind of their thing

Coco was allowed to be released in China though it is about afterlife.

Its Freedom Day, of course they would officially announce this today, so yes, to answer your question.

Nope. CGI means soulless.

My hope: A more mature film that follows the lifes of people in NYC through both good and bad
What we'll get: goblins and Illumination-tier designs and story

This is going to be Pixar’s Oscar-Bait entry next year in case Onward fails critically.

Dan Scanlon said Onward is JRR Tolkien meets John Hughes

Yeah but it could be another The Good Dinosaur, which coincidentally also came out the same year as another Pete Docter movie.

>disney pixar’s “Cringe”
that's just finding dory

Based

Attached: 1558159308736.jpg (433x419, 97K)

when they name a movie what it should be or what it should have you know it's going to suck

Attached: epic fail.jpg (206x305, 32K)

im getting tired of that same font pared with bubbly jazz music

Could it be this same movie that "Disney Insider" blogspot talked about a few months ago?

Attached: 1539351413006.jpg (320x154, 14K)

One of two will happen. 90% of posts will be:

>called soul
>is actually soulless

>called soul
>actually has soul

>nupixar
>soul

their current movies are tearjerkers for the sake of tearjerk

>JRR Tolkien meets John Hughes
I regret having no vomit reaction images

>that same font pared with bubbly jazz music
their hard-on for the glory days of dePatie-Freleng and UPA will never not be hilarious considering how mediocre and cash-strapped their works were.

Pretty sure it’s going to be a movie about an African American heaven.

But Onward is clearly Shrek meets John Hughes.

ok, now this...

It has decent action scenes, tho. The slugs are just fucking unbereable.

That's a heaven I would want to be user

Should have just kept it The Leaf Men

This movie really could have lived up to its name. Ironically, what held it back the most was making its story too small by focusing it on the girl and her predictable journey.

I expect a good christian movie.

Nah, who am I kidding, it will be another "what if X had feelings? HURRR now cry please"

>I expect a good christian movie.

It’s the “Church of the Holy Genericness” religion featured in The Incredibles and UP.

Was this real then?

What if Pixar made a 2d looking cgi film?
Now that would be interesting.

If its from the same disney insider blogspot guy, then its real. He was right about the Soul details being released this month.
animationinsider1.blogspot.com/2019/06/upcoming-disneypixar-movies-revealed.html
>Pixar is also working on an original movie called 'Soul'. The movie has been in development since spring 2016 and has only been officially green-lit into production earlier this year. The movie will be directed by none other than Pete Docter (Monster's Inc, Up, Inside Out) and has been 'described as Inside Out' but dealing with a soul rather than feelings. Voice recording for the movie is going well, the voice cast is stellar and should be completed by the end of the year, whilst the animation is going swell. More details of the movie will either be released next week or at D23, according to my sources. The movie will be released on June 19, 2020.

Is it better than Church of the Holy Flower from Frozen?

I thought it was an alternate name for Onward. Is Pixar actually releasing TWO movies next year?

It's clearly going to be about the various planets/celestial bodies having feelings.

>Sol = soul
>Title has a sun in it

youtube.com/watch?v=x8DKg_fsacM

What is even the point of them being mythological creatures? All these things in this movie seem completely generic stock human shit, so why bother making them fantasy creatures?

Originally, I assumed this blog was timbox/anytown autism, but it could be real

$50 says its going to be Coco but with black people

And gospel singers instead of mariachis

Pixar Post said Soul was a working title for Onward, they were full of shit since they already knew about Pixar's upcoming slate

Because Pixar's whole deal is "Modern Human Problems with a Wacky Perspective".

A Soul is something most Disney movies nowadays lack.

Didn't they already cover those sort of questions with Inside Out?

Attached: Dave Lee Down Under%0Asoul Disney Pixar's SOUL Announced As Next Original Movie For 2020.png (720x223, 54K)

I'm guessing Soul is full of rejected Inside Out ideas.

Attached: monsters inc sid celia mae laugh issue 4 Phillips.jpg (1266x1241, 261K)

Sounds interesting but it feels like that is wayyyy too much for one movie to tackle. That's like the idea behind a film trilogy.

Plus it will be controversial as fuck. Anything otherworldly in a religious sense is dangerous and it seems like they are going there. It's their most risky film yet. Wouldn't doubt to see conservative watch groups go crazy about this one.

How did people respond to Hunchback?

There will be a number in a black church with fat people doing backflips

Depends on if this was all new information or if it could have been pulled from other sources like interviews.

>New York City
>It's called Soul

What makes you think white people are going to be in this?

best post

>some ten year old taking down a grown monster
porn is stupid

man i wish it was porn

Women are stupid.

If he is Christian, it shouldn't be that controversial

Attached: IMG_20190619_232122.jpg (1080x521, 142K)

Would Pixar make a movie about black people with white directors nowadays?

>More Pixar shit
>More generic New York shit
what if pigeons had feelings lmao

Black people Coco

Attached: 1530230927541.jpg (629x627, 105K)

Soul as the music?
Is this going to be a musical?

Hacks just want to call any generic fantasy "Tolkien" without actually understanding Tolkien's mythopoeic style or Old English/Christian influences

is there a way to make new york not generic? it's very overused as a setting.

If that happens, Pixar will just hire a colored person as co-director like they did for Coco

Attached: bwc poc glasses 1548976031634.jpg (300x315, 91K)

That's a legitimate Disney published comic by the artist who did Pocket Princesses.

This is Pixar’s answer to pic related

Have it take place in lesser used locations like Good Time did

>Soul
It's going to be about niggers isn't it

I love that everytime Yea Forums gets a genuine leak it gets ignored

Yep

Attached: incredibles 2 leak.png (1027x562, 142K)

Finally

That's not a leak, that's an early screening.
We knew I2 was in the making for a while.

Soul as in afterlife

Ok but when are we getting a movie based off Alma, a story about a girl's spirit getting trapped in a doll?
Gimmie it, dammit!

Probably died the second Dreamworks was bought by Universal to be remolded into Illumination 2.

The alma director works on the troll hunter show now

All for you

Attached: soulless.png (1347x431, 181K)

Excuse me but where the fuck is this from?

I think coco had a christian cross in one scene.

>streets of New York
Boring.

Honestly user, that edit is pretty fucking soulless.

well that's disappointing.

kek good job

Its a edit of a Tekuho comic

According to Pixar user from , the plot of Soul is a book of life / coco ripoff

Attached: jojo Giorno Giovanna bs.jpg (1280x720, 117K)

Thanks.

>Soul
>Modern Pixar

Not even close

Attached: 1560123486563.jpg (719x802, 127K)

top tier work

Link the blog?

It’s about souls waiting to be assigned to human “host bodies”
Coco meets Inside Out

>Soul
>Pixar

Soul as in compact totally convex totally geodesic submanifold of a Riemann manifold, that is its deformation retract.

So... Reincarnation?

Do they worship Sauron in the church of the Incredibles?

>from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life's most important questions.
Sounds like a large-scope epic quest film with loads of potential. So I guess we can expect another Freaky Friday rehash snoozer. Maybe it'll involve the main character's dad being turned into a moose or something this time.

Attached: 1524025530528.png (276x259, 40K)

What questions are those exactly? The meaning of life? The source of all creation? What happens after death?

It kind of had to in order to make up for the lack of a compelling story. One of my favorite Pixar films too but it is what it is.

isekai shit again

Is futa gay or not.

See

Are you saying Wall-E and Ratatouille sucked?

yeah, and Cool World.

Was Merida realy that Brave? Was Elsa Frozen?

Soullbs?

Can't wait to see how they turn this one into a mismatched couple road trip movie with a 5 minute to make you cry sequence!

The Incredibles? Up? Did they suck as well?

mine is better

At least its not a fucking sequel.

Great. Now I need to see if I can find this pic from Tekuho. Fuck you.

Pixar's movies were always about technological advancement, now that Disney surpassed them, they need better schtick than "this scene will break your heart"

BLEACHED

It kind of irks me that I'm looking forward to frozen 2 more than anything Pixar has lined up. And I didn't even like the first Frozen.

Coco is a complicated case. Typically movies that focus on skeletons and death don't get released in China. Coco was allowed in because of the strong focus on ancestral piety (very Confucian) and because it focuses specifically on Mexican culture (not threatening the Chinese status-quo).

I'm just waiting for someone to confirm that Hans isnt in it so I can forget it exists for the next five years

>discover the answers to life's most important questions
Because it's a Pixar™ movie I'm guessing the answers are friendship/love/family etc.

>Disney
>Pixar
>Halo

>Soul and Onward in the same year
Looks like Onward is going to be the "Good Dinosaur" and "Cars 3" of the year while Soul will be the "Inside Out' and "Coco" that year.

Inside Out had a photo-realistic baby scene and Coco had the grandmother's face. And they also had heartbreaking scenes. I'm not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that Pixar's recent movies have lacked technical innovation.
