>One year from today, Pixar Animation Studios will take you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life's most important questions. Disney & Pixar's "Soul" arrives in theaters on June 19, 2020.
>"Soul" In China it will be renamed " " because it won't be shown in China.
Wyatt Carter
>movie titled “soul” Are the characters going to be black?
Lucas Sanders
So it's white people Coco?
Christian Bell
>CGI No chance.
Juan Thompson
Are you stupid?
Dylan Gray
>"soul" >has a sun in the logo
Actually pretty funny pun.
Luke Parker
Seems like Pixar wants some of that Spider-Verse money.
Austin Rodriguez
Dang, and I was hoping Yea Forums was wrong about this one.
Julian Hernandez
The expanded description makes it sound like Coco and Doctor Strange. > Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you... YOU? In 2020, Pixar Animation Studios takes you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions. “Soul” is directed by two-time Academy Award® winner Pete Docter (“Up,” “Inside Out”) and produced by Academy Award® nominee Dana Murray (“Lou” short).
Angel Thomas
Wrong about what? They announced this months ago
Anthony Stewart

Andrew Perry
Well yes this is Pixar that's kind of their thing
Logan Jones
Coco was allowed to be released in China though it is about afterlife.
Samuel Rogers
Its Freedom Day, of course they would officially announce this today, so yes, to answer your question.
Parker Edwards
Nope. CGI means soulless.
Kevin Kelly
My hope: A more mature film that follows the lifes of people in NYC through both good and bad What we'll get: goblins and Illumination-tier designs and story
Jack Rivera
This is going to be Pixar’s Oscar-Bait entry next year in case Onward fails critically.
Austin Howard
Dan Scanlon said Onward is JRR Tolkien meets John Hughes
Aiden Murphy
Yeah but it could be another The Good Dinosaur, which coincidentally also came out the same year as another Pete Docter movie.
>JRR Tolkien meets John Hughes I regret having no vomit reaction images
Caleb Flores
>that same font pared with bubbly jazz music their hard-on for the glory days of dePatie-Freleng and UPA will never not be hilarious considering how mediocre and cash-strapped their works were.
Nolan Nelson
Pretty sure it’s going to be a movie about an African American heaven.
It has decent action scenes, tho. The slugs are just fucking unbereable.
Justin Gonzalez
That's a heaven I would want to be user
Leo Morgan
Should have just kept it The Leaf Men
Jason Cooper
This movie really could have lived up to its name. Ironically, what held it back the most was making its story too small by focusing it on the girl and her predictable journey.
Angel Clark
I expect a good christian movie.
Nah, who am I kidding, it will be another "what if X had feelings? HURRR now cry please"
Josiah Bell
>I expect a good christian movie.
It’s the “Church of the Holy Genericness” religion featured in The Incredibles and UP.
What if Pixar made a 2d looking cgi film? Now that would be interesting.
Daniel Morales
If its from the same disney insider blogspot guy, then its real. He was right about the Soul details being released this month. animationinsider1.blogspot.com/2019/06/upcoming-disneypixar-movies-revealed.html >Pixar is also working on an original movie called 'Soul'. The movie has been in development since spring 2016 and has only been officially green-lit into production earlier this year. The movie will be directed by none other than Pete Docter (Monster's Inc, Up, Inside Out) and has been 'described as Inside Out' but dealing with a soul rather than feelings. Voice recording for the movie is going well, the voice cast is stellar and should be completed by the end of the year, whilst the animation is going swell. More details of the movie will either be released next week or at D23, according to my sources. The movie will be released on June 19, 2020.
Isaiah Anderson
Is it better than Church of the Holy Flower from Frozen?
Asher Kelly
I thought it was an alternate name for Onward. Is Pixar actually releasing TWO movies next year?
Benjamin Ortiz
It's clearly going to be about the various planets/celestial bodies having feelings.
What is even the point of them being mythological creatures? All these things in this movie seem completely generic stock human shit, so why bother making them fantasy creatures?
Originally, I assumed this blog was timbox/anytown autism, but it could be real
Ryan Carter
$50 says its going to be Coco but with black people
Anthony Clark
And gospel singers instead of mariachis
Josiah Rivera
Pixar Post said Soul was a working title for Onward, they were full of shit since they already knew about Pixar's upcoming slate
Benjamin Wood
Because Pixar's whole deal is "Modern Human Problems with a Wacky Perspective".
William Torres
A Soul is something most Disney movies nowadays lack.
Nathaniel White
Didn't they already cover those sort of questions with Inside Out?
Sounds interesting but it feels like that is wayyyy too much for one movie to tackle. That's like the idea behind a film trilogy.
Plus it will be controversial as fuck. Anything otherworldly in a religious sense is dangerous and it seems like they are going there. It's their most risky film yet. Wouldn't doubt to see conservative watch groups go crazy about this one.
Jace Baker
How did people respond to Hunchback?
Dylan Turner
There will be a number in a black church with fat people doing backflips
Jaxson Lewis
Depends on if this was all new information or if it could have been pulled from other sources like interviews.
Gavin Lee
>New York City >It's called Soul
What makes you think white people are going to be in this?
Luis Sanchez
best post
Matthew Cox
>some ten year old taking down a grown monster porn is stupid
It’s about souls waiting to be assigned to human “host bodies” Coco meets Inside Out
Chase Rogers
>Soul >Pixar
Anthony Cook
Soul as in compact totally convex totally geodesic submanifold of a Riemann manifold, that is its deformation retract.
Jace Fisher
So... Reincarnation?
Joshua Lee
Do they worship Sauron in the church of the Incredibles?
Henry Robinson
>from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life's most important questions. Sounds like a large-scope epic quest film with loads of potential. So I guess we can expect another Freaky Friday rehash snoozer. Maybe it'll involve the main character's dad being turned into a moose or something this time.
What questions are those exactly? The meaning of life? The source of all creation? What happens after death?
Colton Cook
It kind of had to in order to make up for the lack of a compelling story. One of my favorite Pixar films too but it is what it is.
Ian Campbell
isekai shit again
Jose Powell
Is futa gay or not.
Zachary Russell
See
Gavin Carter
Are you saying Wall-E and Ratatouille sucked?
Cameron Gutierrez
yeah, and Cool World.
Was Merida realy that Brave? Was Elsa Frozen?
Angel Jenkins
Soullbs?
Anthony Flores
Can't wait to see how they turn this one into a mismatched couple road trip movie with a 5 minute to make you cry sequence!
Owen Anderson
The Incredibles? Up? Did they suck as well?
Hudson Cook
mine is better
Christopher Carter
At least its not a fucking sequel.
Nicholas Garcia
Great. Now I need to see if I can find this pic from Tekuho. Fuck you.
Aaron Martin
Pixar's movies were always about technological advancement, now that Disney surpassed them, they need better schtick than "this scene will break your heart"
Isaac Foster
BLEACHED
Ian Gonzalez
It kind of irks me that I'm looking forward to frozen 2 more than anything Pixar has lined up. And I didn't even like the first Frozen.
Caleb Garcia
Coco is a complicated case. Typically movies that focus on skeletons and death don't get released in China. Coco was allowed in because of the strong focus on ancestral piety (very Confucian) and because it focuses specifically on Mexican culture (not threatening the Chinese status-quo).
Isaac Cook
I'm just waiting for someone to confirm that Hans isnt in it so I can forget it exists for the next five years
Nolan Butler
>discover the answers to life's most important questions Because it's a Pixar™ movie I'm guessing the answers are friendship/love/family etc.
>Soul and Onward in the same year Looks like Onward is going to be the "Good Dinosaur" and "Cars 3" of the year while Soul will be the "Inside Out' and "Coco" that year.
Jordan Walker
Inside Out had a photo-realistic baby scene and Coco had the grandmother's face. And they also had heartbreaking scenes. I'm not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that Pixar's recent movies have lacked technical innovation.
