Huey is often the most rational character but isn't portrayed as being 100% logical as he honestly believes that the US government was responsible for 9/11, which Aaron McGruder himself said in the past, but probably later realized how cringe he was being and used Huey, his self insert, to make fun of himself. Huey is an example of a self insert character done right, unlike Brian Griffin from Family Guy, whose pretentiousness signals that Seth McFarlane IRL is a smug self-righteous douche.

Except that's not happened. Aaron was fired from Season 4 because Sony Pictures placed unreasonable demands on him, asking him to write 3 episodes a week. When he protested and said that that's impossible, they fired him. It's why season 4 sucked. Aaron is confirmed to return as the lead writer of season 5 though.
