It hit the ground running, and proceeded to spin its wheels in place for 3 seasons (not helped by the fact the show can't air episodes on time or in order, wrecking its momentum).
It introduced side characters that it did nothing with, set up potential relationship arcs that went nowhere, inordinately fixated on two bland protagonists, and failed to build on the world it created.
Not to mention "Status Quo is God" afflicts the show like a plague of in-consequence.
Like Nathalie. She could have been written as a woman with a clear but hidden soft side, torn between her desire to bring back Emelie (and be loyal and loving towards Gabriel) versus her clear maternal side towards Adrien.
It's interesting that Stormy Weather 2 spent a few seconds on fighting and it was mostly off screen, but Gamer 2.0 was almost entirely fight scenes.
Jackson Lopez
It was never good and no one ever cared besides wanting to fuck the main 2 characters when not shipping them No one ever watched for anything else and don't lie to yourself that you did
Honestly, most of complaints people on here have about the show are the only reasons I even sort of care about it. Western action cartoons are an endangered species and most that remain are milquetoast ATLA knockoffs. I like that there's an old fashioned villain of the week show still running.
Kevin Edwards
All of that are cyclical discussions. The show doesn't change, neither the complains. I'll just enjoy the better of both.
Anyway, new episode tomorrow, so let's see if the thread will resist until there.
Xavier Lopez
This sounds more like being mad that you headcanon was wrong, and that she has a hidden sadistic streak under all that stress rather than a hidden soft side.
Frankly, I like that she seems to be delighting in doing evil almost as much as hawkmoth. It draws a nice parallel between their powers of corruption, and how Gabriel and Natalie themselves are being corrupted by the power of their miraculous.
Caleb Wood
Pretty sure people have already posted their tv guides showing that it's just bakerix re-airing.
If you want new episodes; Switzerland says they're scheduled to receive startrain and party crasher by the end of the month.
Juan Reyes
There IS an arc in there - you just have to be patient. Clip related.
What is killing this shit is that it prioritizes its episodic formula trying to keep status quo and its piss poor pacing when it comes to the main plot.
Daniel Rivera
Really? Reflektdoll is supposed to come out tomorrow.
Luis Gutierrez
Is there even a remote chance astruc will shut us all up and make an awesome plottwist that will take this show to a whole other level?
Oliver Bell
People in spain say their guides list bakerix in that slot.
Yes. He's going to make Chloe an antagonist for the FOURTH time, lol.
Camden Parker
For all Ladybug's bragging about Chat's flirting, I have to say the boy is sure patient.
Leo Davis
>waste of potential Maybe? Does wasting potential keep it from being good or even great? I've never seen it, but I know that this is a completely empty criticism.
Samuel Torres
I guess one change that would’ve been cool is if Chloe kept her identity secret to everyone including Master Fu and LB, and she was a competent hero, showing up everybody, and was actually a nice person. In fact, that would’ve been fun. Everyone’s superhero persona has a slightly different personality than their original. It’ll add more twists and drama. The latter of which is one of the show’s biggest selling point, supposedly.
Elijah Smith
What I mean is, the show could have been much bigger by now if it had played its cards right.
Consistent scheduling for example.
Chase Roberts
Considering that international channels don't give a shit about scheduling or episode orders and just shit out the episodes before France can even air them, I don't think consistent scheduling can be resolved.
