Give it to me straight. Is the new Mario Bros movie going to be any good? Shigeru is a producer but who knows how little he’s involved
Give it to me straight. Is the new Mario Bros movie going to be any good...
not some sort of 10/10 movie of the year but its probably gonna follow in the footsteps of Detective pikachu, so a comfy 6-7/10 movie. Fun to watch, but people will go on and off about "m-muh deepest lore"
still not falling for the videogame curse tho
Ok , someone post the greentext of the movie trailer made in Yea Forums. Thank you
it's french so there might be a sexy Peach moment.
>Give it to me straight. Is the new Mario Bros movie going to be any good?
No. Mario games are fun as fuck but they're complete nonsense. It's one of the worst Nintendo franchises to make a movie for
>french
why its the first time i hear this, i thought it was Illumination
WOWIE ZOWIE
RIGHT IN THE FIREBAWLS
what is better then? i think a Splatoon and Metroid is a must
>Best case scenario
It's the Grinch tier
>Worst case scenario
It's minions tier
We're in dangerous waters.
WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELING LIKE P-DIDDY
Miyamoto cant make a good game to save his life, let alone direct a movie
Was the Grinch really the best movie by that studio? Fuck, I thought this had hope.
I’m one of the writers and it’s gonna be good. Mario sand Bowser have to team up to beat a new villain - Gonald Gump, an evil businessman who buys the mushroom kingdom and wants to turn it into a giant casino for his rich friends - the Thuglicans.
Lots of little references to real world events. Like Peach’s castle is renamed Fart-a-Lotto.
All of illumination creative team is French, it's merely based in the USA because they know your country don't buy foreign products.
Post THAT image. You know THE ONE
>illumination
LIIIIIIIIIT
Producers tend to be very involved. Executive Producers are the "We just wanted their name to be on it" position.
>Shigeru is a producer
Shigeru hasn't done anything good with mario since the 64 era so that isn't really a plus
he's just went NO NEW IDEA BAD U MAKE MARIO TOO HARD
Reminder that no matter how bad it is it will still be better than Sonic's movie
>illumination
>good
these two lines do never meet
Earthbound?
Someone post the screencap.
This. Trusting a man who stripped Paper Mario of all it's good qualities, namely the story and character, with a movie about Mario, which is a narrative endeavour, is foolhardy at best. He's just going to make a generic plot with Mario rescuing Peach from Bowser and Illumination will fill the runtime with their cringe humor. Obviously Nintendo cheaped out by specifically settling for Illumination because they're a cheapo animation studio that churns out normie schlock for cheap, they don't want to tell a good story for the fans they just want to expand the IP. Time will tell if it will bite them in the ass, but it's looking pretty likely.
As vivid as ever.
Nah, Despicable Me is their best movie, which is not much of an improvement.
Please leave, you're not funny
Thanks
IS was the one that stopped trying, look at Odyssey where they introduce more new species and inhabitants than they do existing enemies. Even Odyssey Toads have personalities, and hell, they have hats too.
The first Despicable Me movie was good.
Mostly because they kept the Minions to a minimum and focused more on other characters.
Miyamoto had a hand-offs approach to Odyssey.
Before 2017 he was sticking his hand in everything and bossing people around. He specifically told IS to make SS the way it was. There is no misinterpreting here. And since he had no say in Odyssey and Koizumi took over then of course it will be more original.
He said "stick to the mario cast" not change everything to toads, which is Miyamoto's least favorite mario character. Likely because the designs for Super Paper Mario were atrocious and he wanted something more traditional.
You can blame tanabe for that.
Nah, but expect Wario (maybe Luigi, as a reference of that comic) dressed as Peach.
>TFW Universal makes a Mario movie before a Crash or Spyro movie
> Shigeru is a producer
Given his views on telling stories in the Mario games, I fail to see how this is supposed to be a point in the movie's favor.
