It's just a over animated beat them up.

pretty cool, I hope it plays well

>over animated
Is this a thing? What else is over animated?

It doesn't look super interesting. The artstyle looks fun, but not something I would hold my breath for.

It being hand animated somewhat belongs here.
The devs even have YT videos of them working on it

Batman commercials or where animators trying to do something flashy.

Looks like it's from the same people behind those awful cereal commercials a few years ago.

iirc it's an Yea Forums meme
It doesn't always apply to Yea Forums because we have a long history of campy shit
"Over-animation" is a style in and of itself and can be used as comedic effect

Actually don't take this to Yea Forums. They'll just bitch about "CalArts" taking over their videogames.

>iirc it's an Yea Forums meme

Really? I didn't know it is a meme.

Compare that to this superman commercial that has the same fluidity and frames, but is timed much better with stronger poses and consistent character animation.

I still love that batman commercial because of how goofy it is, and I feel like the over-animation was completely intentional.

You forgot to post it

Man of murder

The moving camera reminds me of Link the faces of evil.

They'd be right.

>They'll just bitch about "CalArts" taking over their videogames.
Yes and they would be 100% correct.

How? Calarts hasn't been angular since Dexter's Lab/Powerpuff Girls/Samurai Jack. And yes, those are indeed Calarts.

nice ad.

explain

>beat them up.
this is supposed to be a zelda like

I knew about it from a while ago from Ding Dong retweeting a gif of it in motion. Looks neat.

Honestly, "over-animation" only applies to anything without a consistent sense of weight and and over-use of flourishes, exactly what a lot of anime is guilty of.

don't start with that shit again. everyone going full retard because of stylized animation

What shit? A good sense of weight is empirical to making animation look good and natural in movement.

These Yea Forumstards think that if it has a cartoony style, it's CalArts. It doesn't matter if CalArts is a buzzword and they're misusing the buzzword (Battletoads). If it doesn't look like Gris, it's CalArts.

the art looks pretty good, but the way the animation just seems to slow and speed up like a badly looped gif just irks the hell out of me.
Its like nothing has actual weight to it

They call it Dishonest or Forced Animation.
