He's got one uncle, who was his mother's brother. Even as a kid Jacob Kane didn't like Bruce, because he saw Thomas as the one who got his sister killed. While Kate Kane might be his first cousin, Bette is like his second cousin once-removed or something.

Unlike Duke, Harper, and Kathy he was actually interesting and felt like a proper fit in the family.

Why Batman keeps ''fighting crime'' when crime in the US is declining and organized crime is almost completly dead?

Where is his fiancé, Selian Kyle? Why not draw her next to Bruce?

Gotham in particular is a shithole built on cursed land and designed by mad architects. America in general might be getting better, but it takes the whole batfamily to keep Gotham from getting worse.

I believe it’s canon that when organized crime was being stamped out in Gotham by the combined efforts of Gordon, Batman, and Dent, the super criminals such as Joker and the like replaced them.

That's the case with almost all le grim anti-heroes. They had their hayday in the 70s when violent crime in the US was real bad and you really could walk around NYC seeing gangs of thugs on the street waiting to attack random people and the projections looked like it'd just get worse and worse.

But now someone like the Punisher couldn't really exist because there are no mafias or gang bangers to get into gunfights with, he'd just be going down the sex offenders register shooting unarmed pedos on their doorsteps which doesn't make for a good action scene in every single issue.

Vigilante stories should really be set in shitholes like South Africa or Honduras that still have really bad crime problems but that would take doing research and not just repeating dumb tropes they saw in movies 30 years ago like most comic writers do.

There is still plenty of organized crime and gangs to deal with, the issue is that organized crime got smart enough to go non-violent most of the time and most violent gangs are prison gangs or operate along strict racial lines.

Crime is still bad in inner cities, the US military trains it’s medics by sending them to Chicago and shit. The issue being is that the criminals and the victims tend to only be black, so they probably wanna avoid the racism accusations and act as though it’s still the eighties.

Yeah, the Yakuza is often said to longer be a problem in Japan, but that’s just because they no longer do the openly violent shit that got them their reputation. Now they do shit like run the Red Light District and make out Predatory Loans. There’s the occasional hit taken out here and there, but there’s no epidemic or anything. Apparently running into the Yakuza in a bar is a great experience for tourists.

No that was retconned when the New 52 happened. When Cass was reintroduced near the tail end of Tynion's Tec run Bruce began to treat her more like a daughter to him, but no official adoption.
