> survive for almost 200 issues equaling 5 years in a zombie apocalypse, several gunfights and skirmishes with both living and dead opponents
> die by getting lit up courtesy some punk with a handgun
He probably got the worst closure of any character in this comic.
Also, any other characters that got shit endings?
Shit End for Rick
Not really reading wd, but seriously, the zombie plague still hast been contained in 5 years?
You think they'd have all decayed faster than they could infect anybody left alive.
Sounds like you're a bit mad, OP. There's nothing wrong with Rick dying out of the blue. Honestly, if I had to take an issue with it, it would be that it happened so cleanly, with no immediate, real status quo shaking blowback.
Nobody dies in the walking dead to the actual zombies after the first year. It's all other people. If the zombies kill someone it's because someone else did something to cause it, they're basically an environmental hazard after year one. because the humans are the REAL walking dead haha get it
If anything, it should have been even more shit. He should have died off-screen.
Is the Walking Dead still ongoing?
I thought it was over.
Young white men are the true evil, user. Now let Mohammed bravely rape your daughter.
Didn't Kirkman used to say Walking Dead was Rick's story? Is that still true or did he just really need a big shocking death to keep interest now that the whole Walking Dead phenomenon is dying off?
Comic is supposed to be hitting its final strides soon since it's only going until issue 300 I think
More mad at how it goes
>kid shoots him once
>Rick feeling it obviously
>kid panics and starts feeling guilty
> "oh well let me put 3 more shots in this nigga"
The issue prior had Rick retcon that line from the prison
Whatever his thinking, nobody's cared about the comic since Whisperers proved to be a flop and the TV show has been in the dumps for years
Everyone is already infected. Everyone turns into a zombie when they die. The zombies just speed things up a little.
yeah but by 5 years youd think people would already have protocols to mitigate it.
Kirkman has been pushing his autistic obsession with CORAL for awhile now, the little psychopath.
The entire Commonwealth arc feels forced.
I think a part of him is annoyed that Telltale ended up crafting three likable protagonists better than him, and handled the whole "successor protagonist" system better than the main comic. Clementine and Javi >>>>> Kirkman's pet character
Ah that. You'd need military ordinance to do that. Regular zombies aren't so bad and everyone has their own ways of dealing with em. The real problem is that the fucking herds are consolidating in size. If they show up as a major threat again it's hundreds of thousands of them at once.
There are probably also other communities out there replenishing the zombie stock.
Reminds me of London Boulevard
>MC has a hobo friend
>Hobo friend is killed by some teenager
>MC does an investigation to find this teenager
>He finally finds him
>He puts a gun behind him (unknowingly to the teenager) but decides to spare his life for no reason
>At the end of the movie MC gets stabbed by the same teenager
>"I heard you were looking for me"
>Movie ends
is it? I mean sounds like the only way to kill someone who is bad ass by killing them when they are their weakest.
I think it's been obvious that Kirkman never had a long term plan for awhile now. He wrote by the seat of his pants which worked for the first couple of arcs until he had to kill fan favorites out of the blue repeatedly, then you see he doesn't have a real deep bag of tricks and the repetition gets blatant and boring.
Should have wrapped the series up before having to resort to killing the MC in a 'subversive' manner.
Is the TV show worth watching? I just read the first six issues and thought it was over pretty quickly but my sister said from flipping through it that the material was covered in the first two seasons.
It kind of makes me think the show is extremely heavy on the filler.
You could start at season 4 and go straight to season 6's finale.
From there you could watch the first and last episode of season 7, as well as the first and last episode of season 8.
Season 9 is kino and is handling a lot of the whisperers material better than the comics.
>Start at season 4
>Skip season 5
>Only watch the last episode of season 6
>Only watch the first and last episode of season 7
>Only watch the first and last episode of season 8
>Season 9 is the only season aside from 4 that you recommend watching in full
It really does sound like a worse filler hell than Naruto...
Nah I meant all of 4, 5, and 6 are good.
1 and 2 are shit, three is okay but over complicated and dependent on plot shit from 1 and 2 to fully appreciate.
4 is the closest thing the tv drama gets to a "jumping in point" where the show has finally worked out a lot of its kinks, and it remains great continuously until 6's finale.
Season 7 and 8 are pure, unadulterated garbage because the main showrunner decided to draw out the Negan conflict and Neganfangs being insufferable and dragging the show down with their obsession with an All Out War adaption
In 9 the main showrunner was booted and a competent replacement began immediately salvaging shit and making the series as good as 4 and 5.
Fuck latestage Gimple, and fuck Carolfags. As autistic as Kirkman is for comics Carol the live action version is so much worse
It is Naruto filler tho
Carlfags, Carl ***
Kirkman's been a shit writer for years. Don't tell me you're actually surprised it out this way?
Is there a series that kept going strong after the main character was killed off more than half way into the story?
So he gets killed by Spencer 2.0 that actually has guts?
Seasons 1-3 are TWD in its purest form
Everything Governor is golden
Terminus is filler-tier mishmash of comic material
JDM Negan is amazing, but TWD isn't that good anymore at that point
Nothing matters anymore
FTWD season 1 is pretty good, and season 2 is okay, but it turns into a smouldering tire fire pretty quickly in season 3
I feel like Andrea did.
It seemed like an afterthought to create a bit of drama for the other characters.
>Oh yeah, BTW Andrea got bit offscreen without anyone noticing! I bet you're all pretty shocked! Now main character and other main character will lose new wife and mother, so sad!
I'm not shocked he did it I'm shocked he did it to this degree of garbage
Can't even say he has guts since he's such a sperg about it
Dunno about comics but the Scottish detective drama Taggart kept going after the lead actor passed away. The series lasted longer without Taggart in it.
Remember how the writers just conveniently forgot Andrea had to stay alive past the 3rd season of the show? After putting her in the bench for some parts of the season
Tv Andrea was a bitch, michonnes better
From what I hear the Andrea actress seethes to this very day that the showrunner that season played her out of a major gravy train for life
I thought the symbolism and callbacks to Rick waking up in the hospital were pretty nice but The Commonwealth arc itself is pretty boring. Mercer is really the only likeable new character I can see becoming a fan favourite in the likes of Jesus, Aaron, Negan, etc. Everyone else in The Commonwealth just felt a little bland. Sebastian could go in some interesting directions I guess.
I mean, Kirkman did say in the first issue that Rick could die at any ttime and that the Walking Dead wasn't about him, but it's obvious that went out the window at some point.
TV Andrea was a fucking terrible person and character and I'm glad I got to see her die.
Everyone becomes a zombie when dead if not shot in the head. Zombies can kill you with a single bite or scratch due to super AIDs. Society is still kinda fucked from the chaos of the initial outbreak and the infighting caused by the general anarchy makes it difficult to establish order.
>Seasons 1-3 are TWD in its purest form
Season 2 was a fucking drag though.
at least it doesn’t feel like all hope is lost considering Carl is still alive for now
Just gonna put it out there that this is really the only way Rick could have realistically died. Somewhere he feels safe by some stupid chump with a gun. A zombie bite would have been bad since that's how Andrea bit it. A blaze of glory would be just as corny as the TV show. And war is just played out at this point.
The only alternative to this would be him getting deathly sick with a tumor or some shit.
*Bites your path*
Fear was great and better than the flagship until the unnecessary time skip just to tie it in with muh Morgan.
Also killing off Travis was shit. I would have loved a timeline where Madison died in the plane and Travis had to learn to cope with losing his kid and raising hers.
Amen brother
When was this?
Deleted scene
Would Lee and Rick get along?
>Be a shitty comic that gets normie cummies because "muh random character death."
>It ends by having the main character get shot.
>EXPECTATIONS SUBVERTED!
You could light one on fire and the entire group would burn.
Anybody who doubts this despite the fact that they're close proximity groups of painless flesh balls that bump into each other when walking is being willfully retarded.
Beside that wire across streets and moats would do enough damage to the legs of many walkers that they wouldn't be able to physically walk.
>1 and 2 are shit
Why say this? Those are literally the only two worth watching.
>the hospital/jail season is the best
Excuse me?
>1 and 2 are shit
Ok retard. Seasons 1-3 are when the show was actually good and had likable, interesting characters. 4-5 were decent, with some amazing moments but also it’s fair share of dumbass shit. Season 6 was when the show got awful, and then seasons 7/8 were garbage, and I dropped it midway through 9 because Rick left, Carl was dead and there was no reason to care anymore.
This, turning her into Shane and then the governors little slut was basically telling us she was only ever going to have a faceturn before a quick death. They never let the faceturn live because then they have to explain why people who hate you wouldn't still hate you for putting out the fire that burned their house down.
And yet you seem to think whiny cunts in a hospital and deranged rick are worth watching.
It's a little easier to get through when you can binge watch episodes. Too bad the best character dies that season.
I'm glad they canned her. She wasn't a great actress.
>best
You mean only. Made worse by the fact that literally EVERYONE goes full Shane. I actually sincerely think he'd have been the one to tell them they're fucking animals after the slaughter in the church.
But this is me imagining the writers would do their job.
>story starts with Rick waking up in one bed
>story ends with Rick being put to sleep for good in another
pottery
yeah shane dying made every other character much less interesting. The foil between goody two shoes rick and psycho survivalist shane was the only good thing left. I couldn't watch the rest of s3 it bored me. Michonne using zombies as pack animals was pretty cool. I wish they did more creative shit.
