Favorite animated movie has to be Superman vs the Elite, pretty good job in expanding a oneshot issue with complexity and we see Superman’s physical and moral strength.

There was a Superman pinball machine made by Atari when Atari tried to make pinball. All Widebody pinball machines are controversial, and this one was even wider than a typical Widebody. It's not super-liked, but it has its fans.

A lot of people just don't like all or most "widebodies" (which is what a wider than normal pin is called).

There's been a ton of controversies in pinball, let me give you the bullet points.
*One of the preeminent designers goes to prison for possession of cp. Keep in mind that there are only like 11 lead pinball designers working in the industry at any one time, at most.
*Three companies take preorders and then implode before they can fulfill those preorders. 6000 dollars per preorder turns into nothing. (The Big Lebowski and Alien pins that were made before the implosions go up in value but are hard to find replacement parts for)
*One guy starts a company to mass produce a Predator pin based on his completed homebrew, but it turns out he never licensed the movie. He thought it would be fine if he didn't turn a profit, making his company a "non-profit". More preorder money vanishes.
*Several pinball machines are made with pin-up art on them and some people complain because they feel that sexy drawings are misogynistic.
*Pins are sometimes released with completed hardware but incomplete software. Complaints about that x20
And some other controversies that probably wouldn't be interesting to an outsider.

Honestly though, Lara should had been made canon instead of introducing Jon.

Clark is such a good person. Not at all the kind of dude who would destroy a man's truck out of spite.

My Mos2 idea inspired by the recent Chernobyl show...
> Nuclear power plant that powers both Metropolis & Gotham has a massive power surge.
> Superman evacuates the plant and the island it's on, instructs the technicians to speak out loud instructions and scenarios he will be able to hear long distance and attempts to bring the reactor back under control. No matter what he does the power keeps rising & approaching meltdown.
> At the last second the power massively and rapidly cuts down and before long the entire reactor is dry of power and of radiation.
> Superman using his sight very briefly spies 2 figures near the reactor before they disappear.
> Clark & Lois begin investigating (together as a team) the power plant and the company who owns them.
> Clark sneaks into the power plant to observe things first hand and is attacked in the tunnels beneath the reactor by Atomic Skull and Parasite.
> It's revealed the company that owns the power plant is controlled by Intergang who is producing super villains, the Nuclear incident was their test run, Atomic Skull pumped his own power into the reactor seeing how high his output could go and Parasite drained the reactor afterwards preventing a meltdown.
> Last 3rd of the film follows Superman dismantling Intergang's organization all over the world and preventing them from creating further superhumans. No big bad to fight, scale is smaller then previous Dceu films, is not ever a apocalyptic sized threat.

Superman/Batman: World's Finest (1997)

I never understood the love for this story, especially when they decided to bring Manchester back for Suicide Squad (which I never read so won't comment on) and then for Eending Battle - which, in retrospect, while it has some beats that on re-reading still hold up, shows all the ticks and fan fic tier Plot Induced Stupidity, Aborted Arcs/Fauxshadowing that Cereal Lord is now well-known and disregard for. And I never understood the love for any of Black's further appearance, especially post the conclusion of Ending Battle. He was ill-used by Tomasi and Gleason in Rebirth and is another example of a Superman villain tossed into Supergirl only to be misused and misunderstood.

My other beef with the Elite animated movie is that, while I do admire their willingness to try to make the art (as they did in Public Enemies, New Frontier and All Star Superman) match that of the artists from the comic book stories they are adapting, I was not fond of the art for that particular Kelly arc, although I generally like Mahnke on Superman and even some of his other work (like Rebirth JLA).

Here's a pic unrelated Mahnke on Clark.

Attached: Action (2018) 1000 Doug Mahnke Fried Pie exclusive variant direct market.jpg (600x928, 151K)

THIS what are they sexiest comics now that he's gone

At least give a time frame, that rings a bell but I'm still a bit groggy at the moment from waking up mid-nap.

>Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
I do love the underlying arc/run it adapts - and I loved they started to use the art in the movie models in that era, but I wished they had not changed some of the plot beats they did, especially when you take the DC Animated movies as a whole and see how they often did that to beef up Bruce of all people and at the expense of other characters (in this movie, giving Captain Atom's hero moment to Batman, and in for example, The Man Who Has Everything, giving Jason Todd's hero moment, again to Batman) - but there are numerous examples.

He looks far too young in that fan art - he looks like he's still at the age where HE hasn't discovered Clark is Superdad and thus wouldn't be wearing his Superboy outfit (although the early Lois & Clark comics where he was created and started to be used did show him playing with some toys based on canon characters - they way they sometimes do in the comic - and, IIRC, having drawn some comics they way kids do, that featured the Justice League - which meant he was drawing Superbro, if anyone).

Pic related is a good example of fan art that isn't shota related where he still looks like a pre-teen as he does when Rebirth and Super Sons started, but doesn't look like his main purpose is serving as jail bait.

I think Flex met Superman during Milk Wars?

One of my problems with this moment (and frankly with this entire mini), is that I don't buy it and I don't even see the necessity to have Clark with the red in his eyes. It's always indicated that this power is, in part, one that comes out of anger and isn't as say defensive or innocuous as some of the other abilities but is known to be one that indicates - especially the way some creators started to want to depict Superman, particularly post Final Crisis - as being a bad ass, and not being a Big Boy Scout.

< pic related is an example of an artist wanting to show the heat vision as a bad ass power in a story where the power is magically transferred to Batman

And, back to my point, I also don't subscribe to the Big Boy Scout interpretation - I think a better interpretation would be the comments in the JLU finale - which, sadly, is otherwise another perfect example of a badly nerfed Superman - :

'I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard - always taking constant care not to break something, to break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control, even for a moment, or someone could die.'

Attached: how-batman-discovered-he-has-supermans-powers.jpg (620x955, 724K)

let me give a look, I do recall it, I think or one close

It's shown with other characters. There's a Batman example with a woman being left on the balcony and numerous others. It's not particularly unique, is what I mean.

Ah yeah, maybe. I did read that but I think it was only the story time, since I wanted to read all the Young Animal books before hand and still haven't gotten around to that.

Netflix has excellent documentaries - the one on the transformer toys is good, and the one on Atari is excellent. They had one on pinballs that I think was removed, but they still had one on arcade games last I checked. You might find stuff on You Tube or Daily Motion.

I mean, I have a bunch of them and think they went overboard, but since DC doesn't always collect this stuff in order, you would otherwise need to do it yourself for some of the stories to make sense - in that regard, if there are particular arcs or such you want, yes.

But you'll probably need to torrent them or join a hub or some place where they live.

He means some compilations that people made, particular of the Triangle Era books, in order from the then scans.

controversial opinion: i am completly OK with Superman stealing from shonen manga, superhero narratives always been an amalgamation of previosly existing genres like space opera, fantasy, noir, adventure, etc. Just bussiness as usual.

I was wrong, there's around 449 of them. There are lots of duplicates in that directory, because they made some in 2015 then updated them in 2016. The 2016 ones tend to have a table of contents at the end.
The one thing I don't like about them is that the covers are put at the end of the trade, so sometimes the stories blend together. Which is probably the entire point of the fan trades.

Didn't they give Jason Todd's moment from Tmwhe to Wonder Woman in that adaption?

Can you steal from those that stole from you?

>le melting pot
comics are gay jewish shit

Nope, they gave it to Bruce. Diana pretty much had the same plot beats as in the story although they were a bit more stretched out. DESU, it's been a while that I've read the story itself, but the only thing that comes to mind as that she got a bit more of a beating in the DCAU that she did in Moore's story, but that may simply be from turning a longer than normal story in an annual into a 30 or 60 minute tv script.

It's from COIE and yes, right now I think they are almost near Flashpoint - the last one I saw had the Bart/Conner race from the 2010/2011 Adventure Comics run of Superboy that was pre-Nu52.

They are excessive.

And yes, I would agree - I don't mind the covers being at the end, but I would prefer they have a clearer through point as I would skip some of the stuff they include as unnecessary.

I think it's a question of whom stole from whom.

Thanks. I know what based means. I almost never look at the post numbers and didn't even think to look at that - when someone here uses TRIP, I think of someone posting with a TRIPCODE, which is what threw me.

But I feel you now!

Are you talking about Hitman #34?

Goku wins lol
Have sex

One of them is Mr Mxyzptlyk in disguise.

I like American alien.

It had some great covers and some great art but a lot of the stories were reductive.

If you say so, but I suspect if you had actual sex and read actual good books you might think otherwise....

The thing I like most about Superman is that he borught us Lex Luthor, the best DC villain.

No it was posted above.

Some of the comic sites had them, one crashed and burned or I point you to it. But if you can pull from Libgen that's your best bet.

Kinda surprised this hasn't been brought up yet, but who is your favorite Superman villain??

Mine is Metallo

Lex, used to be Brainiac but Lex is more consistent

Seems possible. He built his body to be like a normal one, except blue. So unless he's taking time to keep his eardrums intact

Anyone looking forward to that Jimmy Olsen (or Lois Lane) book?

Scott Snyder is unironically writing him well in JL

While Lex and Brainiac are great I have to say the idea of a Lovecraftian cosmic horror being locked in ideological battle with the purest man in existence is pretty based desu

I heard JL was boring and shit from pretty much everyone, and I didn't like how he wrote him coming up with hope speeches all the time in that one where the source wall got broken, felt like pandering.

Anyway worth reading now? Or would I not like it?

Darkseid isn't a superman villain though, only in TAS

How strong is his accent as Clark?
When, if ever, does the Kansas slip out when he's Supes?

The shift away from Darkseid fighting Superman has been relatively recent, and mainly on account of him getting obliterated in FC. Before that Darkseid and Superman fought all the time.
