Was it doomed from the start?
>Disney would immediately sue for naming copyright
Wat
Yup, don't trust beaners with anything
>>you will never get an English dub
it already happened
>>Disney would immediately sue for naming copyright
copyright of what? they don't own this
>>it will never be shown in the U.S.
So?
>>you will never get an English dub
What kind of idiot watches dubs?
>>Disney would immediately sue for naming copyright
What the hell are you talking about.
>full show would be animated in Spanish
>Disney would immediately sue for naming copyright
That Disney copyright bait is something new in a Villainous thread, mind to elavorate that? It could be interesting (true or not).
A tabletop game made by Wonder Forge and licensed by Disney, it came out last year.
>>you will never get an English dub
sub>dub
>suing for merely sharing names
Land of the free.
Disney can't own or trademark a word.
>"hurr durrr muh subs r lake superior!!!"
Because straining your eyes to read words zooming across the screen is obviously the smart move
Not my fault that you're blind.
Elder Scrolls. This can and has happened before.
Well it's fucking garbage anyway so I don't care
The pilot dub is said to be pretty bad so maybe that's for the best.
And even if Disney could own a word (damn that sounds dumb as fuck) Villainous as a concept and IP is older, from 2014 and maybe even older (2012 probably). Alan's been working on this project way before he won the Pixelatl contest (and therefore the CN contract).
This. Nobody really cares as long as porn of the chick keeps churning out
Dubs > subs you filthy weeb.
I wonder how much of the Spanish stuff will sweep in the show. Aside from the spanish spoken, nothing really screamed Mexican. About the closest it ever came to that was when Demencia was courting Black Hat with mariachi.
I don't know I find the show promising.
What do you find promising about it? Genuinely curious. I personally find the writing, animation, voice acting and character design awful.
Are we talking either the spanish or English dub? The spanish is widely considered the better of the two, least considering the pilot.
I don't speak spanish and even if I did good voice acting alone isn't going to save this cringefest of a show
Dude, this is not how Trademarks work.
You have to get a trademark for a specific purpose.
As in, any claim Disney would have would be in the Table Top Gaming space, not the TV show space....
There's subtitles for the Spanish version and I at least find them serviceable. I was always into the Tim Burton's school of design, with the edges and stuff. I think the animation is decent. Nothing special though. Well, maybe for the mouth flaps concerning dubbing. It's kinda bad there. I like the writing, it got chuckles from me. I know that a show where the main character is a villain has been done before but Villainous seems notable in that the villain seems competent and not totally silly, which is often what happen in these types of shows. I'm hoping it'll grow because I see potential.
>Spanish dub is considered-
Nope. I don't speak it, and neither do the majority of possible fanbase members globally. The show will fail outright (i.e. views and merch sales) if they don't curve it to English.
I suppose you're right. Still. I implore you at least see the ones with subtitles.
I did, doesn't make a difference to me.
You can talk all you want about "voice actor passion" but the language barrier just doesn't translate emotion or Spanish/English colloquialisms very concisely. At that point, the idea of a VA's performance being better one way or another is pretty mute; especially in a Spanish-to-English translation (which is typically much easier and more on point than a Japanese-to-English translation).
Literally everyone who doesn't touch own a waifu pillow watches dubs.
Reminder the old crew are already talling and they are going to sue Alan
This show is going to drop in quality and designs because that faggot abuse his workers.
Jodanse putos
Really? Shame.
Ungrateful fucks.
It's a good thing Villanos isn't coming to the US.
You fucks don't deserve it.
>user is shitting on Villainous
Did you lose your gif, Dig?
I'm fine I got a good amount of gifs.
Think she was fully grown or has accelerated aging.
>documented crew abuse
>a bunch of random newly-created twitter accounts talking trash
It's just bs until someone brings forth proof of misconduct. This is the 21st century -- if there was "abuse" going down, there's no way someone wouldn't have whipped out their phone to record it.
Sounds like a bunch of Tumblr fags jealous of Alan's success.
top kek my dude, top fucking kek
What motives would they have?
Power level estimates?
>the latinx won't be saving animation after all
Fuck...
>latinx
The fuck is that?
Sjw lingo for Beaner
A word for people who refuse to use Spanish correctly.
>This show is going to drop in quality
>latest content is best quality so far
>the latinx
say latinos, pinche huevon
I prefer latinas myself.
is to generalize but yes, I also
especially if they are from the amazonas
Who is this?
are you serious?
It's Nurgle from Warhammer 40K
Benedict Cumberbatch
>What motivates non-successful people to shit talk successful people?
I don't know user, maybe because they're jealous? Angry? Or just trolls. Check the twitter history of accounts posting accusations -- they were all likely created within the week.
>but the language barrier just doesn't translate emotion or Spanish/English colloquialisms very concisely. At that point, the idea of a VA's performance being better one way or another is pretty mute; especially in a Spanish-to-English translation (which is typically much easier and more on point than a Japanese-to-English translation).
Not the guy you were talking to but I feel your statement on VA's not being able to express emotion well due to a language barrier is wrong. Now I don't watch spanish shows, but you said that japanese actors are even worse in this regard, so I feel I can use them when I say , I can fully get there emotion when they speak, of course I can't exactly disprove your statement, but I can say I at least get it, and I'm sure plenty others do to. If not we wouldn't have those threads complaining about this very thing if people wern't "getting it". I don't even think that this langauge barrier is the biggest problem though. The real issue is the fact that people would have to read, and not everyones a fast reader, and from my experince dealing with spanish people, they talk really fast.
Pic is Mamoru Miyano, who I feel is one of the best voice actors jaoan has to offer, the guy can make you feel every bit as depressed and emotional as the characters he plays my favorite role of his is Okabe from Steins;Gate.
TL;DR I feel you're wrong about the emotions able to be conveyed through a langauge barrier.
I didn't mean that non-English VA's were bad or incapable of showing any emotion through their performances (and yes, I will admit to personal bias because I'm a native English speaker), but the language barrier can cause a certain disconnect from the full range of expressions said VA's were trying to convey to an original target audience.
I won't take sides on the eternal "dub vs sub" thing, but from what I've experienced, the preference tends to come from really just what you ended up watching/bingeing first (based on what language was available when episodes of a series first drop).
>never an english dub
Wanna know how I know you're a retard?
OH YEAH WELL I agree. I'm also a native english speaker, and though I personally havn't had any issue on catching expressions, I can see how someone else might. I do watch alot of subbed shows in Japanese, French, and recently Spanish (I don't speak a lick btw) so I probably have a slight advatage in this regard and shouldn't expect this of the average viewer.
>the preference tends to come from really just what you ended up watching/bingeing first
Same here. You get used to it one way and the other just doesn't feel the same.
>mexico = sombreros, tequila y pancho villa
It isn't?
Any villains you hope to see? Hook seems fun to explore.

Problem here is that the images of all the minions in the trapical resort short are barely visible, and the "full" official image that was provided is way too small and mostly covered in darkness. Pic related.
Maldad Mecanica had better images of a select few but I can't find out a way to extract the images from the game, plus it's unavailable to me from CNs mexican site.
The non-Yea Forums way of addressing people of Latin America.
>t. Latinx
Have you HEARD the dub for Villainous?? It’s awful.
can't they just drop one letter even if it looks stupid? Like "Villain-Us"
It doesn't seem hard, so it just seems like CN doesn't care too much
Right, you can't make a video game and call it Elder Scrolls
You can, however, make a board game, a comic book, a toy line, a dildo collection, etc
That's in America only though. American trademarks don't mean shit outside of America.
Are you really that illiterate that you can't simply read something quickly and then look up afterwards? God, the absolute state of dubfags.
To be fair some subtitles can be hard to read.
Can you Americans stop with the latinx nonsense? We are Latinos. What gives you the right to try and dictate how we should call ourselves? Why are you appropriating our language and trying to change it to your liking?
I watch all foreign language productions with subtitles. It's just what I've done since I was a little kid.
Actually on the copyright stuff, though can name a show that is distinctly different but has the same name as another media that is not TV or a movie.
>Also complaints from artists that there not been treated well while working
Possible foreshadowing? Black Hat was able to apparently foretell the ending of Samurai Jack.
It wasn't bad.
Villaino
I shit you not after posting this on a discord server, one of the head mods on said server think that it's some kind of an inside job and planned to fake their complaints. After i told them to get their head out of the gutter the animation industry is not as amazing as they made it out to be, they said this
>I dunno, I've found it pretty happy jolly so far
>Yeah, I've had to face some cruel "truths", but it's still an awesome industry to be in
This is the same person saying he wants to start an animation studio but flunked out of business school without the knowledge on how to start a business. Sorry if this sounds like rambling autism but I got so pissed about it I want to get that off my head.
>Spanish
>weeb
Get a load of this dumbass
Is there a equivalent term for spanish culture though?
Why do you stay on that server if it's so bad?
Gay
was once a huge fan of their YouTube videos. Stop giving a shit about it and decide to complain about their life from then on to so many stubborn teenage users. Im just there just so I could post my art there.
That was incredibly stupid but I laughed pretty hard, user.
Nergal from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
If the show will ever start running up, what would be something you would add and something to subtract?
This isn't really anything. They don't go into detail about what happened and it's all pretty vague. It could be that they didn't expect to actually work their ass off like other jobs. Also having to work "overtime" to fix their fuckups. They're not going to pay you for fixing something that should have been done correctly ahead of time. These things have deadlines and mishaps just stifle production. This is how it works in the real world.
Enchiladork
As a Latinamerican I can testify that we don't like when other of our kind succeed at anything.
>says who it actually is
Way to ruin the fun newfag
>Right, you can't make a video game and call it Elder Scrolls
You do realize the lawsuit was over a game titled Scrolls right? Not The Elder Scrolls, not Elder Scrolls, just Scrolls.
Tony Curtis
the only good answer
Hah.
If you knew anything , you would know this show makes Coco look Gringo
>American trademarks don't mean shit outside of America.
It's a shame that came up because people were literally talking about it coming to the US.
Imagine not living in the U.S.
that's because I don't get the joke
like where the fuck does it come from?
Can you stop trying to be the latinx voice? :^)
Really? Like how? I'm genuinely curious.
>Nope. I don't speak it, and neither do the majority of possible fanbase members globally. The show will fail outright (i.e. views and merch sales) if they don't curve it to English.
i don't speak spanish but that's just wrong
plenty of people in these threads watching it or waiting for subs
also, the show is lip-synced for the english VA, it's just that they are not very good.
there's also plenty of jokes that rely on either knowing the VA from the spanish version of whatever cartoon it's being referenced, or references to spanish infomercials, which makes localization hard
I started with the usual Toonami and 4kids stuff, then went full on weaboo mode into subs. Voice actors from that era were differentiated and no different from voice actors in native cartoons. Now they're all samey and uninspired, like they were hired off of fiverr just to get the job done. Literally every girl on the planet does that same stupid squeaky voice.
I enjoy Japanese and French expression over current dub voice actors, unless it's full on comedy. Spanish voice actors and English dubbers sound about the same to me. Every culture has different ways of working with each medium I suppose. Japanese live action acting is the god damn worst. Hit them a third time.
Nice try, I see you trying to get me to say Candle jack real fu
>actually bringing in the forced meme
Hopefully it's a pilot only voice crew if it ever does get picked up for the states.
I wanna get eaten by Chimera, from any of her heads, or even her ass, pussy, and futa cock.
They lost that lawsuit though
I thought we were done with the vore.

Her body must be fascinating.
Shame her lower half hasn't been revealed yet.
When the fuck are we gonna get a gallery collection of all the side characters? I can't take it anymore bros.
lmao is that george liqour at the top left
The fucks a Latinx?
>they actually managed to put a Homestuck reference
kek
I don’t see a ™ next to Villainous on at box art, so the unassociated cartoon shouldn’t have any legal trouble.
eh, it works the same in the European Union. It's common sense though.
friki.
Am I missing something here? Just being a blue spider lady doesn't make it a Vriska reference. There are only so many colors you can make a spider lady.
A PC word Californians invented so they could have a gender neutral way to call the Latin people. Not realizing it doesn't sound good in Spanish or the irony of having privileged people telling third world countries how to live their lives.
