Right now, what's the best network for a cartoon? I'm between Disney and Cartoon Network
Right now, what's the best network for a cartoon? I'm between Disney and Cartoon Network
Netflix, unironically.
Gross but unironically correct, especially if you're looking for adult western animation. Admittedly, Netflix has the bar set pretty fucking low, even with LD+R
Came here to post this.
cartoon network is probably better than disney, less restrictions on creators since the the brand isn't such a big deal with them.
Cartoon network just killed ok ko so they have nothing now besides SU, i lioe amphibia so for now disney
Absolutely not, every single netflix original has sucked besides hilda which is massively overrated here
What are the ups and downs of each network?
> since the the brand isn't such a big deal with them.
Can't say brand isn't a big deal for Disney with trash like Star Vs and Amphibia
I don't think the question involved quality, it involved treatment and Netflix treats their shows better than CN or Nickelodeon.
At least we can all agree that Nick is the worst.
But none of netflix shows are any good
netflix. I've heard Cartoon Network is also pretty flexible, but I think at a lower budget? Compared to Disney and Nick, I guess.
What the fuck are your standards? Wakfu, The Dragon Prince, Aggretsuko, Bojack Horseman (seasons 1-3), Carmen Sandiego.
There has to be something that caters to you.
>BoJack Horseman (seasons 1-5)
Fixed
I hate dyke ra and i headd dragon prince is very similar, bojack horsemen posses me off for being the same psuedo intellectual bullshit you see in facebook rick and morty memes, but where as r&m at least sometimes have humor bojack is just one long case study in this cartoon horses depression. Aggretsuko is just boring office drama with anime animals.
Eh. I felt that season 4 was just doing everything they could with Bojack before letting it lie down to rest. It wasn't bad, they just did everything they could do. Season 5 had its moments, but it really felt that they just made it out of obligation and not because they and an idea with Bojack. The theme of season 5 was ego, I say the theme was to tell Weinstein and Gibson to fuck off.
they specifically sent alex hirsch a list of rules that he must follow, such as 'teens must not play spin the bottle at a party because that might lead to sex'
you truly can tell a subhuman by the grammar. fascinating
>nitpicking grammar
Opinion discarded
Then I don't know what to say. I guess maybe wait for Primal. Maybe watch Tigtone. I heard it was pretty good. Maybe Castlevania if you can stomach all the Fedora tipping.
I still think that Netflix is a better option because it's less stressful on the crew and there's more variety on what to watch.
Well Yea Forums faggot they probably need to be more strict if all their content is awful. Seriously, netflix hasnt had a great cartoon on them at all after so long.
CN is the most flexible, original and gamer changer but they allow a lot trash shameful content to be aired from times to times
Disney overal quality is the best because they don't allow clearly shitty shows like TTG or Problem Solverz to get screen time but their shows are unnoriginal and generic
Nettflix got less trash than CN and more originality than Disney but also less creative than CN and less overal quality than Disnet (they are the moderate ones)
Nick is just fucking trash
Then you are either lying or have some really confusing standards. Carmen Sandiego is great and this board won't shut the fuck up about how great Wakfu is.
Netflix is the place to go when it comes to variety and finding genres that were booted off other networks.
However, the quality of art and animation suffers because of shoestring budgets and production being rushed from from hiatus to hiatus. Also irregular season length and seasons sliced into smaller meals. I can't stand this distribution gimmick since it's poisoning other networks and making them adopt even more ridiculous scheduling formats.
>likes okko and su
>thinks hilda is overrated
haha okay
Wakfu existed way before Netflix was even a thing.
This
It was alright
Possibly Netflix, Trollhunters was pretty good.
Disney will probably leap frog them when Disney+ comes out and shows can have plots that aren't monster of the week with a few lines about 'This is connected to that!"
Netflix>Disney>Cartoon Network>Nickelodeon
Would be my ranking
With Netflix, and Disney doing a wee bit better than CN or Nickelodeon
CN being bad
Nickelodeon being shitty garbage
With Disney and Netflix being both being mediocre
Cartoon Network during the Over The Garden Wall era.
>Ok KO is dead
Oh thank God another shitty show is dead. I can handle a lot of terrible writing and animation but when the themes and messages are terrible, there is no saving it.
There isn't one. Networks don't make cartoons. Stop this autistic obsession with networks and decades and generations. Just talk about cartoons
>bojack horseman
this show is shit
>aggretsuko
this show is anime
>Cartoon network just killed ok ko
OK KO has a third season and is literally not even confirmed to be ending there. Stop spreading fake news
Yeah that must be why they're all horribly animated and look uncreative as fuck.
Yet they are better than the trash Disney, CN and Nick are giving us
At this very moment. Maybe.
Animation wise absolutely not even the lowest budget cartoon on any of those networks looks 100x better than any netflix cartoon in it's history of existence.
Even steven universe looks better then she ra, youre full of shit
No. Im not. You just don't like the reality of the situation.
Well youre so called reality is pure delusion, youre honestly telling me the infamously bad art in she ra or the bad CGI in dragon prince is better animation then anything on network tv?
Disenchantment looks pretty good and better than Star vs season 1 tween abuse animation.
They literally dropped the mini series once a year for like three years and Sincé hasn't aired ever again.
>Networks don't make cartoons
OP is talking about which network tends to trait their cartoons better (like more creativity freedom, more lifespan, etc.)
Then again, it's not a matter of quality, it's a matter of wich network would be better for an animated project.
Im not saying cn or nick or disney is at its peak with their animation or ideas but nothing on netflix is good even slightly. Like cherry picked muh star vs or SU isnt a good argument.
Clearly we have different standards.
Cartoons are a dying affectation of millennials who don't want to grow up. That's why Nick transitioned to live action tween sitcoms and Disney keeps remaking classic cartoons as live action movies. It's also why there's been such a major push for female showrunners. Do you really think a kid watching a cartoon gives a fuck about SJW politics? It's children's content for adults these days.
Dude im saying netflix cartoons are bad what are you on?
or you could talk about cartoons
