Why was Hank Pym so despised?
Is he gone for good?
Why was Hank Pym so despised?
He was unfortunate enough to have smacking his wife one time during a mental breakdown to be one of his most famous moments. This means that everyone treats him like shit despite most heroes doing much worse themselves.
community punching bag. they'll bring him back. i get the feeling that they don't know what to do with him.
Writers just don't like shrinky/growy people. It's size discrimination.
He’ll be back in one of the future Iron Man comics, I believe.
Tony is also fucking his ex wife, so that might be fun.
>Illuminati orchestrates destruction of multiple universes
>Cap becomes Hydra Supreme and nukes cities
>Wanda kills almost all mutants
>Pym hits his wife who goads an unstable man instead of reading the room and btfo.
I think it's just the way the rest are brushed off or ignored. Poor Pym. Cucked for life.
doesnt he have an event coming?
he has been cucked out of it as main villain by Machine Man
I like that issue in Secret Empire when he comes back for a bit to gather the avengers for some meal. I like to see it as calling out to writers and people who only see Hank as a wife beater. Even though he and Jan reconciled after and HOW OTHER AVENGERS AND CHARACTERS IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE did something much worse. But no Hank can't be redeemed from making a mistake
We can imagine and condemn wife beating. We can’t imagine mass murders of the scale others did and can dismiss them easily. Human brains are wired to empathize with one person suffering, not comprehend mass genocide etc.
Glad he got some variation in how he’s represented.
Looking for how the story was going, it seems they were planning on fucking this character even before and without the wife-beating panel
But that’s only in Ults right? Based Disney saved Pym from this fate.
It was pretty neat. I actually really like Pymtron.
don't forget about Wolverine literally killing people every week, yet he retains "Avenger" status
Is that why Ultimate Pym was like that with Jan?
I want this scene to be in movies. But in such a way that Hank is understandable .
Had you made this thread one week ago, it would have had a reson to exists.
Gosh the level of tommyposting in this reply, i can smell the pig scent from there
Even Marvel's "saint", Spidey, he hit his wife Mary Jane during a breakdown, his wife who btw unlike Jan was not practiced in taking a hit or used to fighting people with super strength.
Hank has it real rough as a character, particularly one with such deep roots in Marvel lore.
Ultron.
Also, his manic-depression has led to him making some... poor decisions.
Also, MJ was pregnant, and Parker sent her flying across the room.
Does Hank have a redemption arc? Otherwise he needs one from a good writer.
Marvel unironically will not let it happen. He's the company's little scapegoat for every bad character trait they can shove on a someone.
Literally the story that starts with the slap
he's had a lot
Most people don't shit on Hank for Ultron.
One of the writers tried to retcon his insanity and paranoia, that led to Ultron and hitting his wife, was due to a villain messing up with his mind to cause those events to happen... but then another writer also retconned that by having it be revealed that the villain never did anything to Hank and was just making it up so that he'd believe their lies.
And then time travel got involved and now Wolverine tells him to make Ultron but with a back door to shut him down.
Ultron Unlimited and Busiek's work with Hank, Slott's Mighty Avengers, Avengers Academy
