It was actually pretty fun. Needed to flesh out the Eddie/Venom bond a little more, but I guess that's part of those 40 minutes that Tom Hardy said got trimmed from the final movie.
What did you like about the movie, Yea Forums? Hopes for the sequel?
Not a great movie by any means, but fun. With a competent director it'd be far better.
Jayden Ross
The first movie's director is not coming back.
Who should replace him?
Levi Jackson
I enjoyed it as well. It wasn't great but it was different tone wise than most of the marvel universe movies. I am optimistic that a sequel with Carnage will be entertaining as well.
Ryan Cooper
VENOMMM VENOMM VENOM VENOM MMMM VENOM VENOM VENOM
Tyler Turner
I actually just saw this last week, and agree. Favorite part was Venom telling Eddie to jump out a window, with a jump cut to him in an elevator calling him a pussy. >Hopes for the sequel? Woody Harrelson looks great as Cletus, cautiously optimistic.
Camden Williams
Took him forever to get the symbiotic.
Lincoln Flores
this would be better without venom at all and just gone with some new space-buddy cop thing.
also that kissing scene was so fucking cringe
Ryan Gray
Simon Kinberg
Julian Sanchez
Charlie Kaufman
Benjamin James
>hopes for the sequel A couple of genuine hero and antihero moments for venom, Really use that morally gray thing that no other cape movie is doing right now, but use it for fun instead of angst fuel Cletus to have genuine fun moments of being a madlad, really having fun causing the carnage he claimed to create at the end of the first movie I hope they have a very personal, drag out fight for the finale, and not a city block destroying super hero fight like all the rest, something like raimi-man 1 or 3, the construction site fight s honestly pretty cool context aside And honestly, just give me more of tom hardy doing his thing, being crazy talking to herself
Jace Collins
Maximum carnage done right. Also, can't they bring back Andrew Garfield to be their Spider-Man? I would be down to see him again. Hell he never even has to take off the mask if we focus soley on Venom.
Jace Lopez
Fun my ass, it was a fucking cluster fuck and the plot / characters are all over the place. Only retards who are easily entertained with flashy ass fights are contain with this shit
>It was actually pretty fun It was actually pretty tiresome. Janky and all over the place plotwise, the editing was just plain bad and the characters flat as all shit. Didn't frustrate me like, say, Age of Ultron, but still. 4/10. >40 minutes that Tom Hardy said got trimmed from the final movie Now, that would explain some things.
Ryder Hughes
It was great. I was actually worried that the fight would go into the atmosphere, but the movie was pretty down to earth about the fragility of aeronautics
Lincoln Peterson
zack snyder
Austin Nelson
>plot and characters were all over the place Did you even watch the movie?
Parker Peterson
Didn't think it was terrible, but I felt like it was less of a movie because no involvement with Spider-man
Jackson Green
>Big organization sends all of their important fucking information through a fucking email instead of paper in a meeting >HAR HAR HAR EDDIE U DUN NEED 2 TELL ME ANYTHING, I LIVE INSIDE UR HEAD >OH IS THAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT HER >Sup Eddie, we are here to invade your planet and kill everyone. >Oh you know how i acted all weird earlier? It is literally my one weakness. I have another too, please dont use it against me later in the movie >Venom is suddenly super attracted to Eddie even though they did fuck all at bonding through the whole movie >Symbiote needs a very specific host to bond >Venom and the villain can just jump from host to host >The plot point of symbiote giving you cancer is brought up and dropped for no reason
There are probably more but i repressed my memories against that shitty movie
Hudson Hill
>>Symbiote needs a very specific host to bond >>Venom and the villain can just jump from host to host They needed a specific host to bond permanently, but never said that being on a host for a limited time wasn't possible. I'm sure Riot didn't give a fuck that he was draining the life out of all those people he was globe trotting on.
Christian Bell
I honestly thought the more horroresque scenes were really cool (opening scene, life foundation break-in, that scene in the fog). If they just amp up the horror and carnage (ha) for Carnage and maybe trim some of the fat, it could be really good.
Angel Mitchell
Agreed.
Blake Barnes
It was entertaining enough - it would have been better if they made it more homoerotic, especially with Tom Hardy, since he's so hyper masculine. It also could have been simplified, but they did a good job of having it exist without Spider-man.
Blake Campbell
>they did a good job of having it exist without Spider-man. They made it look easy.
Easton Torres
Oh yes.
Josiah Hill
I thought it was okay. About on par with the Amazing Spider-Man movies.
The non full body CG moments were pretty crap. Especially when they would have the Symbiote go through his clothes yet not tear then up at all. Also Venom went turncoat very very easily. One rooftop view and he's like "let's NOT destroy this planet".
Jace Foster
It was a fucking mess with a few cool scenes that they had finished and struggled to string together into a coherent narrative.
Hunter Kelly
So this thread is full of shills or is that just people with shit taste? Who the fuck thought that movie was good?
>B-but the actor
A single half way decent actor cant save a shitty movie
Angel Martin
It was an early to mid-2000s Marvel film, it was dumb fun
David Smith
>Who the fuck thought that movie was good? People who like fun as opposed to overproduced "critically acclaimed" snoozefests.
Owen Robinson
>but never said that being on a host for a limited time wasn't possible.
Actually, they did. The rabbit and Scream symbiote straight up die because they are incompatible hosts.
Grayson Scott
>Mask. >Copy!
It was fun, not provocative by any means or pushing any new envelopes but it set up a fun dynamic between the two.
