Massive Oedipal issues. Something that I think is majorly glossed over when it comes to his relationship with Mai. Think about it, reserved, dismissive, regal, but also tender and affectionate in small doses, Mai could probably be less described as "pushing his buttons" but as "Kool-Aid Man'ing right into the reptile part of his brain" when it comes to Zuko's sexual hangups. Forget Katara's nurturing attitude or Azula's manipulative affection, Zuko probably is calling Mai "Mommy" when he busts a nut.

Inconsistent because her backstory doesn't match with what's shown in the actual show
She didn't seem interested in her brother being kidnapped (seemed happier even) and didnt care when Azula didnt want to trade him. This is despite it being said that she cares about him deeply?
Also she has parent issues but her first scene is her mom saying she should enjoy herself and look happier despite Mai saying her parents were strict and never allowed her to act casually or like a kid.
Also her x zuko came out of nowhere because besides one small scene in book 2, I dont recall it even being mentioned anywhere else?
